I don't what your problem is but mine is 10W47 and I unlocked my bootloader just fine. But 1 thing YOU have to be BRAVE to unlick the bootloader. Though there is no risk at all if you do it correctly by followimg step by step from here and you can unbrick your device just in case if you go wrong somewhere.
Hope I could help You!!!!!!!!
no pain, no gain.

I hardbricked it too. But I took it to the service center in Mumbai today and they are going to fix it in under 10 working days. They didn't check if my bootloader was unlocked or not so its still under warranty. Go pretend like you still have warranty and you don't know what happened. I don't have to pay a thing

Hi guys, quick question here.
I have bought a Redmi Note 4 , 32gb/3gb Snapdragon one.
I have these questions.
How is warranty affected after rooting our device ?
How is warranty affected by uunlocking the bootloader ?
What features won't work after unlocking the bootloader ?
What to keep in mind, to avoid problms in future , would xiaomi service centres be of any help ?
Thank you. Please answer separately for each question.
Xiaomi just like onePlus supports rooting....
So don't worry...
You can always get back your warranty by Just flashing the global stable ROM...
Also all the features will work after unlocking bootloader...
Do remember that it's you who is willing to make the changes and I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong...
Avoid rooting if you don't have adequate knowledge...

1) You void your warranty on rooting your device
2) Unlocking the bootloader itself doesn't void your warranty.. but the Mi Unlock tool clearly states whatever happens after the bootloader unlock (custom ROM install and stuff) is your responsibility.. so if something happens during those processes, the warranty is void..
3) according to xiaomi, things like Encryption and find my device won't properly work..
4) flash original fastboot rom and relock the bootloader if you want to take the thing to service center.. the only situation where your warranty truly is void is if you manage to brick it beyond repair, which is almost impossible to do.. (you can make a xiaomi deep flash cable (google it) to fix the device even when you can't directly boot into fastboot mode)
P.S. - i haven't done the deep flash stuff.. just posting what I learnt on the internet
---------- Post added at 07:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ----------
As long as the technicians get the phone running unrooted stock MIUI, they won't complain..
PS - again this is according to the internet.. i have not tested this..

Nothing to worry, just do eet!
I remember the case when i bricked my galaxy S1 back in those years 2 times and I took it to the service center in india which was almost a kilometre from my house and i told the guy that it got bricked when i was charging it.. He replaced the motherboard and gave me both the times.. And told me that I probably had a loose connection at home ?.. I told him I'll get it fixed.. Thats the only device i ever bricked and that too because it was the first device i was trying to mod.. Its really tough to brick the newer devices.. But i dont know if the trick i used still works with the service centres today..
Before this i only experience root phone that has no warranty. Now with this info, it make sense. When restore the stock ROM everything goes back to normal on my old Samsung device. That mean the device is fully restore as original which mean restore the warranty as well. Thanks Guys, just got my redmi note 4 SD and will install Resurrection Remix right away.

3. How to install the TWRP and also the back up too?
4. Do you need to flash the latest Firmware (Upgrade your Miui 9) before doing the RR 5.8.5 10/25 stable version?
Currently, I have installed RR on my both Galaxy S2 GT-9100 and Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) >>> Beautifully thumb Up!

Welcome to Xiaomi Family..
You can just browsing in Redmi Note 4 xda section for the tutorial.
1. Unlock bootloader (the most annoying part)
2. Install Twrp via fastboot
3. Flash Rom & Magisk or anything you prefer.
4. Done, that's it...
For miui i do not backup anything since brand new n nothing to backup and dont worry about warranty. You can restore back to original version by flashing stock rom from xiaomi then you can claim for warranty with no issue, i have done it before.

@Mech_sid I have gone through your output and your device has a 'cid' value of 0x0007 which shows that it can be unlocked. Those having 0x0000, 0x0003, 0x0007, 0x0009, 0x000B, 0x000C, 0x000D, 0x000E, 0x0014 and 0x00DE can be unlocked.
Other cid values indicate that you have a carrier or region locked phone and hence can't be unlocked unless and until you get approval from your carrier or any other relevant authority.
I suggest you contact Motorola directly here and they can help you out. I know people who had the same problem and they got it rectified. As long as the cid you have given me is correct, they will allow you to unlock.
They are not helping

@Mech_sid As I'm not a Motorola employee, I can't help you much. I'll try my best though. You can post a query here. That's the official thread for such problems. That's where the people whom I mentioned earlier got their problems solved. Hopefully, you should be able to unlock then.
Between, what did the email from them say? 'Go to Service center.'?
@aravindvnair99 yes, all the emails and chats from them says to go to authorized service centre and submit the device...

@Mech_sid Make that your last resort. Before that, check that thread I asked you to. Hopefully, you should get a reply from there.
Yes @aravindvnair99 I have it least priority.... and at the thread you have given I asked for help...hopefully I'll get a solution.
Hey @aravindvnair99 ,
On the thread you given, i had a very long discussion and finally they concluded that i have to visit service centre...
But i dont want to take the service as my device is 3 years old and there is no meaning of investing money on that...i just want its bootloader to be unlocked..
Now what should i do...is there any other solution?

@Mech_sid Well, then you have to visit the service centre. I don't think they should charge you for this. But I'm on sure on that part. And yes, as far as I can think now, that's your only solution unless and until someone finds a vulnerability in the bootloader.
Okay @aravindvnair99 ill visit there...and they will charge me for that because the phn is 3 years old... Thank you so much for concern..

We do not spread false news, the warranty with the unlocking of the bootloader is NOT invalidated, Xiaomi allows the unlocking of the bootloader while maintaining the warranty, but if you break it modding with custom kernel / rom you will have to pay to fix it.

the warranty will not be invalidated, but if you create damage by modding you will have to pay to fix the device. Before sending it to service, simply remove twrp and install the original recovery.
