Find the Microsoft version of Facebook and manually install it. the store version doesn't allow the connect.

Hi,
With all of the above one receives a message - "Microsoft Office Outlook (error box reports): Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client. " Not good, I am unable to sync MS to MS! although having read on the forums the new iphone is able to!!! I am actually tempted to move to the iphone, I have always had MS phones for ease of use, this is clearly not the case anymore!
Having searched and searched for an answer, I have given up. I have spoken to HTC and Microsoft who quite frankly were very rude and pretty non challant. "Not our problem speak to the manufacturer" - which I am not sure I understand as all the problems arise from MS software issues!
I am asking here if anyone can think of a work around? I am stuck and cannot believe I am the only one in this predicament! I have searched these forums and no-one it seems is having this issue!
Thank-you in advance,
Will

I'm guessing you have Outlook set as your PC's default mail program?
Yes! Been through all that with HTC - who I must say were very helpful. Apparently it does not work and MS will not bring out WMDC (64bit)! Crazy I know.... I now need a work around.....
Will
I had the same issue.... my "fix".... was to go back to 2007 x86 !
I think 2010 x86 would have worked, but i use Jeyo, which doesn't work with 2010..
So yeah... if you can get hold of the x86 version of Office... give it a go.
I had the same problem with Outlook2010 x64 and WMDC x64.
Microsoft officially states somewhere, that WMDC only supports MAPI x86 of Outlook. Installing Outlook 2010 x86 fixed that.
I've already bought outlook though!

What kind of license did you buy? Normally they include both the x64 and x86 bit versions.
either that - or download a copy, then use your key with it (debatable whether or not that is legal - so hmm).
Yup 'Pooper' your right they are all shipped together with the same licence. I am now on completely 32bit. I a unable to use excel and powerpoint 64bit if I use 32bit outlook. It was a case of choosing betwee syncing the pda or using very large excel and ppt docs! Way to go MS, what a way to sell your products. There does not seem to be a workaround other than the above. Alternatively MS could update there software! So we can use it as it is meant to be used!
Annoyed at MS,
Will!
32bit, 64bit
This question is posted trough many threads, but here is an answer:
It doesn't matter if you have Windows 7 32bit or 64bit. What is important, is which bit version you have on your Outlook.
Outlook 2010 32bit is supported by WM Device Center and HTC Sync v.3.0.5422.
Outlook 2010 64bit is not.
The error message you got if you have Outlook 2010 x64 is:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the
messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail
client."
That means: Current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request (It's not 32bit).
So, if you have Windows 7 x64 with Outlook x86, WM Device Center and HTC Sync works.
Quote from Microsoft technet site (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681792.aspx)
"Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) synchronization, WMDC does not synchronize with Microsoft Outlook 2010 if you use the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010. In such cases, an error message displays that states that there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging. WMDC synchronizes correctly with the 32-bit version of Outlook 2010. To synchronize a Windows Phone with Outlook 2010 by using Windows Mobile Device Center, uninstall Outlook 2010 64-bit. Then use the original installer that you used to obtain Outlook 2010 64-bit to install Outlook 2010 32-bit. Outlook 2010 32-bit is the default option."
Hello,
If you have not found a solution you can try http://www.companionlink.com/products/companionlink-outlook.html

Solved initial issue on 64bit wm7 pro. I realised there is 2 version on WDMC. 10mb and 12 mb version. the 12mb version is working fine. link below

Is there a program that can convert and sync my google calendar with windows mobile?
It would have to convert the different google calendars into the windows mobile categories of the same name.
EDIT: The solution is a program called oggsync, i converts OutlookCategories into GoogleCalendars and back, works great with autosync and everything.

sorry ,this is mu fold that i help you
you did not help me because you did not read or understand what i am looking for
Just maybe its the thought you should be thanking for. Win. Mobile is dead/dying and the poster was just trying to help. Being ungrateful for help, even if it doesnt do what you want, wont likely get you further help. Maybe that suggestion is your only option you have...or else you would have searched and found solution, right?
Sent from my MID using XDA Premium App
Still this is not an option at all. Thanking for something hat has nothing at all to do with my problem is stupid.
There is oggsync that might be able to do it..im not sure..i allready sent the developers a mail.
Hi, I wonder, is there a way to syncronize Outlook Notes on WP7? I can't find it, but maybe I'm blind? IOS does it fine as did Windows Mobile...
Thanks/M
I haven't use outlook notes but I'm pretty sure you will be able to sync it to your live account. Once you done this its accessible on your phone.
Hello. That may be the case. But it's not obvious to me how it's supposed to work, if that's the case....
Rgds/M
Forget Outlook notes, use OneNote instead. It's also synchronizable with WP7
Yes, I'm aware that there are numerous alternative tools to use for notes. However I have a ton of data in Outlook Notes that I have used for a very long time. Works over all my various computers and, up till now, on my mobiles as well. One would have thought Microsoft, if anyone, would ahve had support for it...
/M
There is no native support for these in WP7.
Notes were poorly supported even in Windows Mobile. For example they did not sync wirelessly over ActiveSync.

Yes, this is true. Did synch over Activesync via cable though. And Notes still sit there in Outlook 2010, fairly prominently. Also the iPhone syncronizes them perfectly... Oh well. Thanks anyway for the replys.
Cheers/M
