Hello,
I am thinking of buying the "Donation Version" of Greenify, provided it lets me do the following. Please let me know if I can accomplish the following.
Device Information:
Manufacturer: Swipe
Model Name: Swipe Elite Plus
Android Version: 5.0.2
Operating System: Freedom O.S (on top of Android 5.0.2) Read More about it here --> giridhar.co.in/blog/phonelicious/the-new-freedom-os-and-its-features/
Location: Chennai, India
My antivirus app identified a malicious process named as "com.sts", that came pre-installed with the device. The disable/uninstall options are disabled in this process' "App Info" page under Android Settings. [Settings --> Apps --> All Apps --> com.sts --> App Info]. Meaning, I cannot stop or uninstall this process from starting by itself (without rooting the phone, which I do NOT want to do). Yes, I do NOT want to root the phone.
So my question is, since this is a "system process", would "Greenify Pro" (Donation Version) help me to stop this malicious process from running or automatically starting again? Meaning, Greenify should NOT allow this process to start by itself even after I restart the phone.
Please let me know if this would be possible in the Pro version.
If yes, I will buy it.
If No, then I will use the Free Version for now. Because I am looking to buy the paid version ONLY to stop this process from ever running.
Thanks in Advance!

You can not effectively stop a system process on an unrooted device (except possibly via adb tether).

i downloaded tektrak from samsung apps on my s2 ... ive had a look and its ok but its draining my battery how on earth do you deactivate it / uninstall it ??
ive tried to uninstall and it says it cant
the company is based in usa so its gonna be a while before they answer ...
anyone used it and uninstalled it ???
tektrak is not easy to uninstall because we do not want unauthorized users to be able to simply remove the application from your phone, thus preventing you from securing it. In addition, some features require setting tektrak as an administrator. To remove the application, please go (on your Android device) to the phone's Settings->Location and security->Select device administrator and make sure that the checkbox next to tektrak is unchecked. Then click deactivate. Next, go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications->tektrak and click uninstall.

Hello. I have the non root app. I see that if i want to check the option "greenifying system apps" i have to purchase the donation package.
The question is: do i need also root ? Thanks
No, you do not need root. That is the beauty of the app now. But the hibernated system apps may wake up sometimes. With root, once hibernated, they stay that way.

After I tried to understand the text under the "Greenifying system apps" I found out that, no, you would not require root. However, the process might not be smooth as if you installed Xposed and use boost mode. But still, you can hibernate system apps.
Hi guys !
I have been using Greenify for quite some time now and finally decided to get the Donation Package in order to unlock some more advanced features.
There's no way to know (or so I think), but I guess deep hibernation, at least, works fine. However, even though "Greenify system apps" is ticked, the only change I noticed in the wizard is SuperSU, which appears when ticking the box in the right up corner menu. I did reboot several times, but with no luck.
As for my configuration, my device is a Honor 5C L51 on Android Marshmallow. I use the EMUI stock ROM (v4.1.2 at the moment) and Nova Launcher Prime.
Do one of you guys have any idea how I can greenify my system apps ? Or is it normal that only SuperSU appears on that list ? I do understand that these options are experimental, but if there is something I misunderstood to get this working, please let me know.
Thank you for your time.

- is device rooted?; can't hibernate most system apps w/o root
- make sure working mode is set to 'root' in settings
- if still no joy consider making Greenify a 'system' app which gives Greenify some additional powers if not running Xposed
- that said there are few (often no) system apps that benefit from hibernation

Thank you for your answer.
I am root and Greenify's working mode is "Root + Boost (Xposed). I'm confused about what you're saying though, how can one change an app priviledge from user to system ?

If you have Xposed there is no benefit to migrating the Greenify apk to the system partition. Make sure Greenify actually has root permissions. Change the working mode to 'non-root' and then removed the related entry from SuperSU (or whatever root manager you are using). Return to Greenify and select boost mode [or whatever is need to return to "Root + Boost (Xposed)"]. You should get a SuperSU prompt ... either immediately or when attempting to manually hibernate an app.

Just did all that and nothing changed. I also tried to untick the "Greenify system apps" option box and tick it again with no luck. However, I noticed that I could actually make SuperSU appear and disappear from the list of greenifying apps like I mentioned in my first post even if the box is unticked.

Not much more to say. Either: 1) you have no system apps running aside from SuperSU [seems unlikely]; or 2) Greenify does not have sufficient permissions to see and act upon system apps. Good luck chasing this one down.
SuperSU typically runs as a user app regardless of how Greenify characterizes it. You can check current status from within SuperSU.
Dear developers,
I have a question.
Greenify (as specified above: Model : Huawei Nova Plus, Marshmallow 6.0 No Root modality) has always worked
(obviously, in No-root modality, I had to launch it every time): now, with the new updates, every time I try to launch it, in the setting options of my system I find the authorization unselected (although I had selected it before) and I have to authorize it each time, in the settings, before being able to launch it. This makes it dreadfully boring (before I authorized it only once and it worked for months). Please kindly let me know how to solve it. Many thanks. Cheers

Clear the data and cache of Greenify, uninstall it and reboot. Now install it again and give the necessary permissions and see if it works. If not, after uninstalling as above, install an earlier version which worked.

Hi,
I tried but it doesn't work... Where can I find a previous version of the app? (On Google Play Store I am only allowed to download the latest one).
Thanks again!
Try this link:

I got a Samsung Galaxy A20 from Ebay recently and I'm trying to use it as a wifi only phone but Boost Mobile make it impossible to do so.. You'll get an intrusive pop-up asking you to accept their Terms Of Service "Sprint Device Manager" and if you just exit out of it without accepting it will continue to pop-up forever every 3 minutes. If you do accept and don't activate service on the phone (Samsung Galaxy A20 through Boost Mobile) they will disable your access to to your phone that you rightfully paid for making it impossible to use the internet etc as all pages will redirect to the boost mobile web site no matter your proxy, dns, browser etc..
I am not rooted but I have tried to use Shizuki Manager & Ice Box to freeze "Sprint Device Manager" and but I cannot find the process..
Help, how do I freeze this intrusive process ¿¡¿
https://imgur.com/gallery/dOuTAu3
"Sprint Device Manager"
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
just press "accept terms" and that will not show again
It disables my wifi access and makes you activate the phone with service if you press accept..
Download "Analyst" on PlayStore this will list all your installed apps and system apps now find that "Sprint Device Manager" and remember its package name then by using ADB command just uninstall it
here's an example
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.???.???
Thanks! I couldn't get it to populate in any other app manager, that adb command will only disable it correct?
yes it would only uninstall it on the current user if you decided to do factory reset/default it would be back once again
Greetings, this is my first post, I don't know anything about this stuff, so please excuse my ignorance,
I am somewhat in the same boat as the original poster, bought a boost phone (moto g power 2021). The "carrier device manager" blocks wifi access and to activate I have to purchase a monthly plan. This isn't my video but this is the issue.
I couldn't find the "Analyst" app on the playstore
So far I have tried...
Removing sim card
Using a sim card from a previously activated phone
I then downloaded Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool version 1.4.3 and the app inspector app as laid out in this thread https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/
Think I got the hang of removing apps with ADB by using the app inspector to get the package name, but when trying to remove the "carrier device manager" it says that it is "non disable" and I am stuck now on how to move forward.
I was looking at a thread by pjottrr where he unlocks the bootloader and then in another thread roots the phone, the process seemed a bit confusing for me being a novice.
Also, any thoughts on the kingo root program.
Thanks for your assistance
