This phone in 2017

I'm interested in buying this phone, but I don't really know if it's worth to buy it in 2017, I also have an option to buy Samsung Galaxy S7 but still, S6 edge looks way cooler, and also looks like it has a better camera. It's also much cheaper but I don't know if should buy this phone, does someone knows if this phone's as fast as S7?
Depends on your definition of better.
Cpu is not faster but they both feel extremely responsive.
I would not buy the s7 due to no IR blaster.
I have 128GB version so i care not for the lack of SD CARD.
Camera is a bit of a tricky one. I only like to take pics in 16:9, the S7 gets its max MP at a 4:3 aspect ratio. Low light is better on S7 but if thatis not important to you then I think the S6 edge 128GB is far superior to the S7 edge as it has more features that s7. Always on screen is irritating as I have had it on a custom rom and found that at night its still distracting while you sleep.

I'll be honest and it's just my opinion but my s6 edge is by far the best phone I have ever got. I would still buy this phone again in a few years time!
To me it feels just as responsive as the s7

Bobovr z5 3d ?

Anyone tried the BOBOVR Z5 3D with the XZ Premium? What's your impressions?
Do U know the answer yet. I want to buy it as well but I don't know if it will work.
There is no reason why it wouldn't work. There no tech inside the Bobo Z5, so it will be compatible with anything that fits between...... just a well made cardboard.
As I own both XZP and Bobo Z5 I can tell you following facts:
- the FOV is no where near 120° , it depends on your eye to lens and lens to phone display distance as well as the ipd distance , I have almost the perfect average ipd with 65mm and with the best settings I found so far, I have somewhere around 80-90° FOV by guessing in comparison with my 2016 GearVR (assuming this has exactly 90°fov)
- the lenses seem to be good, better than GVR 2016 , the image stays clear within peripheral vision , that was not the case with the Samsung
- Headphones are a plus, If they were bluetooth, they would have been better, cable does often come in the way while putting your phone in
- be aware of having to set up the headset for your needs , takes some time with calibration, I would recommend sitesinvr , they offer a calibration tool and the possibility to export your config to a qr code you can scan afterwards to overwrite the standard cardboard preset
- bobovr's own qr code isn't working properly, you will most likely get a fisheye view then
- not the most comfortable headset , but I'm pretty sure there is alot worse hardware available, it sits pretty good on your head, backstrap with knob to tighten is a bit uncomfortable if you are leaning with the back of your head on the sofa or anywhere else , a flex-strap system like samsung would be more shaky but more comfortable
- lenses do not fog up easyly , this is a big plus
- I would recommend inserting the xzp into the z5 without any cases around. It is perfectly possible (I have a Spigen Rugged armor case) alignment / image quality is slightly improved with the case removed)
Overall:
- cardboard image drifting sucks !!
- 4K screen is a big plus compared to my old galaxy s6 2560x1440 display
-XZP's LCD screen is alot slower than Samsungs Oleds , but this tradeoff might be ok if you do not look around too much etc.
I have it since october.
Yes, bobo VR Z5! It works great but keep in mind without tempered glass screenprotector.
Ittook over 1 month to come from china, and the remote was discharged so I jump started the battery 3-4 times with 5v for one second and it did charge after.
I have it like new. thinking to sell it ...
how much do you offer?
i bought some years ago bobo4 just because want to try 4k video in VR, because try ps4 vr and ps display not 4k but picture was very cool realistic in games, and i though with 4k xzp display picture will be more better...but i can't normaly cinfigurate bobo4 and xzp to watch 4k videos youtube or other videos and other things like games, videos very ugly and i see pixels and other.... or may be because bobo4 it's piece of **** don't know, but I was very disappointed in VR and did not touch this bobo again.....

Camera favour to ask, will give £5 amazon voucher

Hi all,
I'm really keen to buy the Oppo Reno 10x zoom but it's a big investment. I have a huawei mate 10 with a disappointing camera, I want to make sure the camera is decent this time.
If there are up to 3 people able to get a few specific kind of photos /videos (stock and with gcam) I'll happily send a £5 amazon voucher by their email a giftcard system as thanks.
Please could you get (no need for the zoom or wide lense in these pics)
1. A, few photos on the main camera, in the day with stock and gcam. Then again in evening where its not dark (no nightmode) but just not as bright.
2. Same again but with something moving (I have dogs which are hard to photo with my huawei mate 10 in any detail) e.g. dogs or people
3. Gcam and regular main cam on portrait but on the main rear camera of some random objects
4. A few Videos on the rear cam of something moving with stock and gcam in good and average light (not night).
5. I would really like to get slow motion vids of my dogs so ideally some 240fps 1080p videos in the day and slightly darker of something moving that would be great. I don't think gcam slow motion works yet.
I know it's a big ask but hopefully an amazon voucher compensates for this. I'm not sure where to upload the videos / pics without them degrading but maybe cloud storage somehow?
Thanks
Mike

Kind of you to offer but because of the lack of response and little info elsewhere, I bought a s10. Knew the camera would be good, even if it's got an annoying notch on the screen.
Thanks

Oh thats fine, anyways Oppo camera is also good but it has its drawbacks, mainly 5x zoom you wont be using much and anything below 5x is purely digital.
Night mode is not that impressive compared to the counterparts, and overall the weight of the mobile is also heavy.
As, in India the price is around 560 USD I went for this mobile.

Review

Hi Guys,
New to having the Find X2 Pro. So i thought that I’d write a mini review (not like anyone cares but here goes)
From the unboxing experience, it was extremely well presented. Wrapped in plastic and the feel of the cold ceramic and cold aluminium frame was astounding! Cannot fault it.
However, the problems started when i booted into ColourOS for the first time. This is my first time using ColourOS, so i went into it with an open mind and with neutral feelings. But to me, it doesn’t seem well optimised at all. Everything is completely different to the OneUI’s or the OxygenOS’s that we’ve all come to know and love. I’m not saying that its a bad UI, it’s just extremely cluttered.
Then i come to find out that the boot loader cannot be unlocked without Oppo’s say so. This is an extreme disappointment for me as i like to root my phone for 1 reason and 1 reason only - Viper4Android.
I fly to the USA a lot! And i find having Viper4Android boosting the volume and overall quality of my Galaxy Buds is a must have during 9hr flights.
I know, it’s my own fault for not doing the research beforehand, but the biggest kick in the teeth was the front facing camera. It’s in no way bad, but in 2020 recording in 4K at 60fps has come to be expected. I send a lot of goofy videos to my children in the USA and having the option to send them in 4K would’ve been nice - especially when you’re shelling out over £1000 for the Find X2 Pro.
Everything about the Find X2 Pro screams premium. The build quality, that beautiful display, the chipset, rear cameras etc etc. It’s just a massive shame that we don’t have the freedom to unlock our bootloader to really take full advantage of device and the front facing camera maxes out at 1080p - in 2020!
I’d like to know what you guys think of your device so far.
Thanks for reading.
Speedy!

Question Pixel 6 Video Call Quality

Hi everyone, I haven't seen anything in the threads mention anything about this but I've been trying to use my phone for video calls and it's god awful. It looks zoomed in and it's just blurry looking in every app that I've tried so far including Google's own Duo application. I have never been so embarrassed by a phone until yesterday when my friend asked what kind of phone I have. I was like I had a Pixel its made by Google the creators of android and asked to video call someone just to hear the person on the other end of the call say whats wrong with ya connection the picture looks horrible.
Came home and Duo called myself from my Samsung A72 and wow it looks like utter crap. On the other hand, the budget Samsung A72 was looking great, not to mention the A72 has the ability to record 4k with its front camera as well. I was thinking the latest update would fix this but nothing. This may definitely be a deal-breaker for me.
One more thing, does anyone else's background looks orange/yellow when taking a selfie that has a wall background?
Is anyone else having this issue with their Pixel?
I have used only Viber and Telegram calls and quality was fine. I haven't tested Duo yet. Maybe you could try with other application...
I have the same problem with my Pixel 7.
Quality on WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger, Instagram, and its own google app for video calling, its just bad .i mean for a phone that you give solid amount of money should make the job for the most common task, video calling.
To mention that camera is perfectly fine when using it from phone.Just in apps it's really bad.
Hopefully it get fixed with future updates.
Front camera is plain bad. Small sensor and bad software. It's the same camera since Pixel 2...
I fixed photos quality by installing Google Camera mod with some personal settings, but video quality is terrible...

Try to set a native aspect ratio (4:3), disable EIS, and zoom all the way out.... if your software allows it.
The "default" way to capture video from that camera tends to be in 16:9, EIS, and zoomed in a bunch. All of these cause the image to be cropped. EIS uses a buffer zone around the captured video and moves the selection around in it to stabilize the video.
Unfortunately, most video chat programs don't allow these kind of controls.
