I lose only the warrant when the knox is tripped or it cause another problems ?
S health, samsung pay and maybe some other apps won't work normally, s health may be tricked, but not the same with pay apps
There is already a kernel that tricks the system to detect knox as 0x0 but only for custom ROM.
Aside from Samsung Health and Samsung Pay, Secure Folder is inaccessible as well as private mode in the Samsung Browser as per Knox that has been tripped.

[18/12] ROM I9205XXUCML1 (Whit KNOX) <> [16/01] New ROM I9205XXUCNA2 (How to Root)
New Rom at 18.12.2013 on SamMobile: I9205XXUCML1_I9205OXXCML2_I9205XXUCML1-TPH
New one today 16.01.2014 : I9205XXUCNA2_OXXCML4_XXUCNA2-TPH
Whit new bootloader. Confirmed whit KNOX.
After flash this Rom's I have this on Download Mode:
.....
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV: 1
Now... we must take care.
If we flash something like recovery, root... the Knox Warranty Void turn to 0x1. This flag at 0x1 is not reversible.
Like on another devices whit Knox I havn't trouble whit. My flag is already 0x1.
How I Root this Rom whit Knox bootloader and appl:
- First of all I have a appl superuser.apk (SuperSU v1.80) on extSdCard. For now I prefer this version.
- Flash by Odin the i9205-cwm-recovery.tar.md5.
- (For now I prefer the PhilZ-touch-recovery-6.0.4.6. Thanks @Phil3759). Reboot.
- Power off. On recovery by Power + Vol-up I flash the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip from Chainfire. Thanks @Chainfire . Root but not Busybox.
- After reboot the SuperSU stop sometimes, it is installed on system/app and Knox not permit all access at system.
- Then, whit Explorer from Rom I go at extSdCard and touch on superuser.apk and install it. This way the apk is installed on data/app. Root solved.
- Now we can touch on icon SuperSU, this start and ask us to invalidate Knox. We must say Yes.
- Installed Busybox 1.21.1 of Stericson from Play Store. Verified whit "Root Verifier". It's all, we have all root now.
Next whit Root Explorer I delete all Knox apk + odex from system/app (see my post #4). Also superuser.apk from here, is not need on system/app.
My Mega I9205 work well now whit this Rom. My flag is 0x1, never mind.
EDIT1: All CSC on this Rom: BGL, BTU, CMF, COA, CRO, DBT, ETL, EUR, MSR, NEE, ORX, PHE, SEB, SIO, SMO, TPH, TWO, XEF, XEH, XEO
EDIT2: Read more about Knox on Post #12.
EDIT3: Links for Rom's ML1 and NA2 on Post #135
EDIT4: About the use of UPDATE-SuperSU-1.80 see Post #153.
EDIT5: For me all this work well. If You want make the same, make it at Your risk and responsibility, alright?

It's there. Be careful with installing root.
Most probably Knox counter will start.
Download mode' menu changed.
Interesting, hot to get root and flag remaining to 0x0
Because I'm a retired man I need my Mega I9205 for my personal use only. Not for Enterprise or Government working, then I don't need the hateful KNOX.
After customer recovery install and root access, the first thing I make is delete all apk and more from it (whit Root Explorer):
1 - From system/app I delete:
ContainerAgent.apk + odex
ContainerEventsRelayManager.apk + odex
KLMSAgent.apk + odex
KNOXAgent.apk + odex
KNOXAttestationAgent.apk + odex
KNOXStore.apk + odex
KNOXStub.apk
SPDClient.apk + odex
From system/containers I delete:
All .apk + .zip file and 2 apk inside subfolder framework
Wipe cache + dalvik on recovery and all work for me (not for Knox )
PS: I make the same always on another device that have also the Knox, is alright always.

It seems that KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0 or 0x1 refer to Samsung System Security KNOX. If 0x1 is not secure for peoples that work on Enterprises or Government using the phone, and not to personal warranty. Still on discuss about.
Does this lock the bootloader?
I cannot get Root. I installed Superuser.zip & Superuser.apk I'm lost!

Modem NON-HLOS.bin LTE XXUCML1 like PDA and BL. 4G at home, speedtest.net -> 40.98 Mb/s.
PS: Updated OP.
Always the KNOX: "KNOX WARRANTY VOID" ???
To know more about Knox read THIS
I quote the end:
Secure Android Platform
Samsung KNOX offers a multi-faceted security solution rooted in the tamper-resistant device hardware, through the Linux kernel and Android operating system. The first line of defense against malicious attacks, Samsung KNOX is currently approved to run on US Department of Defense networks. (If flag 0x0, my opinion).

We can't downgrade to an older bootloader. I tried it on another device (on I9205 may be the same).
But we can Restore old rom's backuped on recovery.

Sorry but I don't like that "soft bricked".
While we can go to Download Mode and flash a New Rom, or a Customer Recovery by Odin to Restore a Rom Backuped we havn't "brick's".
I not tried on Mega I9205, I like make only upgrades not downgrades.

- What Rom have You installed. You want go back from what build?
- What bootloader is working. (On Shell Terminal Emulator type getprop ro.bootloader You have it).
Hi guys,
Sorry if this has already been answered several times but i have read many threads and just feel some information is dated and cannot work out if what im trying to do is possible.
I would like to root my samsung galaxy s6 edge, however i have been reading that the fingerprint scanner stops working along with call audio?
I was wondering if these are still issues? and if not then which is the best way to root without tripping knox counter?
Kind regards
usmxn
It's ok! I'll help you out!
From personal experience, Tripping KNOX gets rid of Samsung Pay functionality, however I do not know about Android Pay or Google Wallet. Tripping KNOX, though, gives you the ability to have fingerprint functionality.
(This isn't from personal experience, just from what many others have said) By not tripping KNOX, you lose fingerprint functionality(seems to be confirmed by lots of people for this), but Samsung Pay should (not 100% sure) work.
As for the call audio issues, this usually applies to the T-Mobile (SM-G925T or SM-G920T) or Canadian (SM-G925W8 or SM-G920W8) Varients of the S6 and S6 Edge. However, if you do have either of the models listed, there is a fix that you can flash.
TL;DR, Tripping KNOX = Loss of Samsung Pay + Working Fingerprint Scanner.
However NOT Tripping KNOX = Possibly working Samsung Pay + Broken Fingerprint Scanner.
I would recommend (if you don't care of Samsung Pay) to root by flashing either Unikernel via ODIN or flashing TWRP through ODIN and then flashing custom ROMS or Kernels through TWRP. (Both Methods Trips KNOX)
I do not know of a way to root without tripping KNOX, sorry! Anyways, for me, losing Fingerprint Scanner functionality is a deal breaker.
I would also recommend NOT Rooting! This is only if you don't want to lose any functionality of your device.

Yeah, no problem.
Here's UniKernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...d-development/kernel-stockmod-kernel-t3100395
Download the ODIN Flashable version
ODIN: http://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin/#.VpLZkRUrLIU
Tutorial is quite easy, (This is to only root STOCK Firmware):
1. Download the files you need (UniKernel, ODIN)
2. Turn on Developer Mode (Go to Settings > About Phone, and Spam Tap the Build Number Until it says Developer Mode Turned On) And make sure to enable OEM Unlocking
3. Turn Off the Device and Boot in to Download Mode by Holding Down the Vol. Down, Home Button, and Power Button simultaneously until a cyan screen appears. Then press Vol. Up and you should see ODIN Mode in RED
4. Plug in your device to your pc and launch up ODIN.
5. Go ahead and check the box for AP and browse for the .tar file for UniKernel.
6. Click start and ODIN will begin to flash the kernel.
7. The phone should reboot and then check to see if the Kernel Version in Settings > About Phone says UniKernel.
8. If it does then you should be rooted and have SuperSU installed under Apps.
Hello everyone!
i have samsung galaxy s3 (i9300).
and i have updated it with last LOS build "lineage-14.1-20170621-nightly-i9300-signed.zip", but nfc pay still doesn't work.
Android Pay says "nfc is needed in stores. This device does not support NFC payments, so you won't be able to use Android Pay in stores."
Does anyone have SGS3 and could anyone check this?
P.S.: I have original samsung nfs battery. And in the another apps nfc worked correct. I can write and read information by nfc in underground card.
It is very possible that android pay won't work because your device is rooted. I cannot test this because my device is rooted too and I don't use android pay.
There is a logical reason for my thinking. With root you have access to things you shouldn't and it is easy to compromise the android pay app should you have root access. This can only be tested by trying the app on a stock device that has never seen root or has been unrooted properly to show no evidence.
To do that, you must have a non-knox device. If knox is triggered you cannot reset it as that is a permanent change. Triggering knox shouldn't interfere but I imagine the security of android pay may look for this too. Knox is for businesses to know if the device has been tampered with. It is not for making the device any more data secure than a device without knox. It is purely a 'byte flag'.
AFAIK, the device must show 0 custom flashes, "original" custom binary and "official" status. This can be achieved via triangle away and flashing the stock rom, eventually ending up at a completely "out of the box" state device. Then android pay 'should' work as intended.

This issue is not exactly in "root" device, because "root"-device show another message, and also i have no root.
I read about this problem deeper - Samsung Galaxy S3 from CM11 to CM14.1 not support Host card Emulation (HCE).
I am trying to understanding, is it possible HCE enable in SGS3 and why it was not done?!
PS: There is issue CYAN-2935 about this problem on the old jira...
After doing some research it appears that most devices that accept hce have an official kitkat firmware. Some s3's didn't get a kitkat update at all. I doubt hce can be activated on a device that doesn't support that feature so you need to confirm which device you have. Only the s3's that have 1.5gb RAM got the kitkat update but that doesn't necessarily mean it is capable, it's just a step in the right direction. Have you checked to see if there's an app which could tell you if your device is capable?.
If you have only 1gb RAM then forget hce on that device.
Beamed in by telepathy.
And some verions of galaxy s3 with 1.5gb ram - has no nfc )
Greetings,
I recently acquired a Samsung S9 plus device ( G965F/DS) used 1.5month.
At first everything looked great , but in due course , i could not open Samsung Health app.
I downloaded root checker and there was no root on my phone .
Then i tried to download netflix but i realised that it was not available at play store (in their official site they say its because of rooted or something relevant) .
My question is what's going on . I've never encountered such a problem before with any device I had .
Can someone enlighten me about what to do or how to face such problems ?
I am pretty sure that the phone is not rooted ( well 85%) but i cannot understand what the previous owner did to the phone. He claims its not rooted.
Thanks for your time !
It looks like, Knox is tripped. Boot the phone to Recovery and see if "Warranty Void" is at 0x1. If yes, knox is tripped and the phone was rooted.

but i discovered that the OEM bootloader unlock is activated. i can disable it , but disabling it will it fix the problem?
Sorry, my fault. Boot the Phone to the Download Mode, not the Recovery. OEM-Unlock only won't trip Knox, but it will factory reset your Phone, when you check/uncheck the option.

Of course, you can root the stock rom, then the most apps should work. Also, you can install a custom rom, it's your decision.

I won't install a custom rom, because you would lose some Samsung-Exclusive features. But with some custom Roms the Perfomance, or the Battery can be better.

Really grateful for all your replies pal , i do appreciate them a lot ! If i would choose a custom rom, which one should i try ? lineageos?
If you want the Vanilla Android Style, you can use lineageos. But thanks to the Developers at XDA, there are many roms.
I can't say any special custom rom, because I've never used one at my newer phones.
Maybe you can open a new thead where you can write anythying you want in your rom, and maybe anyone knews a rom.
Hi friends,
I successfully rooted (LineageOS) and then "unrooted" my Samsung S9+ by flashing it with the official firmware and switching off "OEM unlock" in settings.
Well, Google Pay, banking apps, Microsoft Teams - all them consider this device as "healthy", but Samsung Pass do not. I guess first reflash destroyed in some ways Knox, right? If this is a case - are there ways to restore this state as well?
Thank you!

well, thats the thing about knox. you cannot. only a samsung authorized service can restore that. so either get it to a samsung service or buy a new one. either way, you will have to pay.
