Is it possible to do OTA with the phone not logged in? (I'm talking about xiaomi account.) If it is not possible, then the phone (not mine) probably logged in with the seller's account. Now I cannot unlock it to repair the stuck OTA. It says the account is different than the one I'm using.

Good day,
I have two devices, a Nokia 5 and an iPhone 6 plus, both devices are fine when it comes to general use. But when it comes to accounts, it seems that iPhones don't easily let people delete signed in accounts on their device, usually they ask for a password before you can sign it out
However on my Nokia, sadly anyone can delete it, and if lost or stolen they can just factory wipe the phone, and frp doesn't seem to be present on my device
But regardless on that situation, i just want my account to be more secured that not anyone can just easily remove it.
So is there a way to prevent my google account from being removed? Just like the iPhone, it asks for a password before you can sign it out?
Hello!
I'm a noob when it comes to the ins and outs of Miui as this is my first Xiaomi device, I've come from HTC and LG before
So, when I first got the phone I setup the Miui account, not putting my phone number in, got the phone all setup and started using it as normal. Now when I come to unlock the Bootloader I find the account needs a phone number associated with it and it's here I hit a brick wall.
When I try to edit my account to add a phone number I'm supposed to get a verification code to my registered email address which is a googlemail account. I've tried multiple times and I'm not getting this code, I've emailed Tech Support and they're slightly misunderstanding what I'm trying to achieve and not getting the fact there's no code for me to enter to edit the account and it's not in my junk/spam folder.
I've also tried the manual verification technique but that always comes back (as an SMS annoyingly!) that there's no associated device with the account.
I've just tried to setup another account using my work Exchange email address and no code but I'm pretty sure that'll be the work spam filter.
Has anyone else come across this and got any tips?
Thanks in advance for any help!
I'd try setting up a new gmail account and then set up a new Miui account using the new gmail account with the fone number this time.

Thanks. That's my next plan of action just so I can unlock the bootloader then go back to the original account.
I've had 2 more email dialogues with Xiaomi support and they just don't get it. :silly:
My nephew took delivery of a brand new phone, set a lock and then forgot it BEFORE he linked the phone to a Google account.
Is there any way to bypass this lock? I've done a full factory wipe/reset but I still get prompted for the code. The alternative is to login to the associated Google account bit of course there isn't one!
Help!
i can remove it remotly for a beer/coffe
My sister wants to switch to an iPhone and apparently she's lost access to her google account, she doesn't have the phone number anymore. Is there anyway to remove the account from the s21? I can try rooting it but dont know what to do after. Thanks!
I just ordered a new S22+ and I'm getting things in order for the transition.
AT&T has locked me out of one of my email accounts because they claim I can't prove ownership. I can, but that's another story. I am still able to use the email account because when I set it up on the old phone (Note9), I used the Gmail/AT&T/Yahoo setup with Oauth2 authentication. That authentication bypasses the need for my password to work. However, if I add the account to the new phone I'll have to go through the authentication setup again which means the password has to work and it won't.
I've moved on from AT&T email but I still need access to this particular account for a few more months.
Question: Is it possible to copy files from my existing Note9 to the new S22+ to get the account working without having root on either phone?
I have ADB Fastboot installed on my PC if that makes things any easier.
Long shot I know, but maybe someone has some insight.
Thanks much,
DC
