[ROOT] Root for Mediapad T1 10 (T1-A21L) - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

After long time of googling and searching under every stone to find a root for this device w/o any luck, i decided to port it myself, and here i share it with you guys.
Requirements:
1- Unlocked bootloader
if yours is locked, follow this link to unlock it officially on huawei.
2- adb and fastboot package.
3- PhilZ Touch 6 Recovery, from here
4- SuperSu, from here

Installation instructions:
1- install adb if it's not on your pc.
2- connect your device to the pc.
3- open windows command prompt (CM) and type the following commands (you better install adb and put all the downloaded files on C:\ partition directly):

adb reboot-bootloader
your device will reboot in bootloader mode
then type:

fastboot flash boot rooted_boot.img
wait till the flashing complete then restart your device by typing:

fastboot reboot

Now, practically your device is rooted but you need to activate the rooting.
so we need 1st to install PhilZ Touch Recovery that we already downloaded before
1st unzip the compressed file to get the "philz-touch_6-59-0_hwt1a21l_mustangssc.img" file
then type:

adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery philz-touch_6-59-0_hwt1a21l_mustangssc.img
[I]wait till the process finish then [/I]
fastboot reboot
Now we have phils recovery installed, and we will use it to install Super SU.

Finally, you need to install SuperSU:
Put the zip file (yes do NOT decompress it) on your sdcard or internal storage and restart you device in recovery mode (phils recovery):

adb reboot recovery
To get into the phils recovery, then use the function "install zip" to flash SuperSU and restart.

CONGRATULATIONS, your for long locked unrooted Mediapad T1 now is rooted and working like a charm.
You better put SuperSU options "Default access: Grant" and check "Enable su during boot" then restart.

I tried following their instructions, got the code, booted the tablet into fastboot mode, but when i run fastboot devices it shows nothing. Only adb devices shows "? recovery". Any suggestion? Do i need a special cable for this?

Boot on charge
Hey,
Thanks for the guide. It worked perfectly on the T1-A21L I'm working with. Had a lot of headaches with this before I found your guide.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get this device to power on when it receives a charge. Some people said that this might be done through the bootloader using "fastboot oem off-mode-charge 0" command, but I think that only works for Nexus. Didn't work for me unfortunately.
Please let me know.

No you do not need a special cable...just go the the adb folder in your local disk (C my computers..once you open the adb folder click on an empty space then hold shift button and right click then click on open command windows here..thats it you can go through the steps from this command windows...

Looking forward to trying this once i get my unlock code from Huawei.
Tried using their site but it just gave me an empty key. fastboot oem unlock and fastboot screen on device clearly states its locked tho.
