Hi, I have weird problem with my Z5C camera. I really want to replace my broken camera with new one but when I installed it I noticed that it doesn't focus at all. I have unlocked bootloader so I tried to restore my own TA, use universal drmfix zip, fix system with PC Companion and Flashtool, but nothing helped After that I've noticed that when I put my broken camera in, boot phone, start camera app, exit camera app and replace camera (when phone is still on), the new one focus properly! In this case camera app still remains me that device is overheating and focus works only till I didn't reboot phone. After reboot, camera doesn't overheat but it stops focus again. I've spend three days looking for solution and I'm already tired about it, so please help me
After some tests I can add that camera focus is working on CM13 normally but Lineage (which camera is based on stock) still has the same problem.

Strange I also had the same problem with the camera...
Tried to raise it with HTC and they told that it is news to them too...
They have told me that they have raised it to their technical department and would get back to me soon...
Will update if I hear from them (99% they would say it would be fixed in the march update)
Hello,
My camera suddenly stopped working :[
I have cm11, and when I try to launch the app, it says "can't connect to the camera".
I tried rebooting, tried to factory restore, tried different apps, still nothing :|
Is there way to check that the camera is connected? maybe for some reason it disconnected
from the motherboard?
Flash stock firmware and factory reset, if still the same then reconnect/replace the camera module. I replaced mine recently, it took me 10 minutes and cost £5.
So after everything else didn't work,
decided to take apart the phone.
Turned out that the camera was disconnected as I thought,
Have no Idea how that happened, the phone did fall few days ago,
not that hard though...
Anyway works now, just the resolution settings for the back cam are the same
as for the front one... max resolution is 1.9mp :\
Will try to flash again...
Hello All!
I'm quite new to this forum and not sure if anyone else had this problem before, but I think it's worth a thread anyway. I always solved my android problems on my own, though I haven't got the slightest of clues of what's going on with my phone right now.
So the problem is what's the title of the thread. Whenever I take a picture with the camera with flash enabled, the phone shuts down or freezes. Not sure which, because the screen goes black immediately after taking the picture, and it will not come back by touching the screen or pushing the power button or pushing it for a long time to switch it on or restart it. The phone only comes back to life if I remove the battery and put it back.
Some testing I did so far:
- The flash is working on it's own, it doesn't cause any problem. I tried it with a flashlight app.
- the camera works well without flash enabled, no shut down/freeze there.
- tried 2 camera apps, Camera Zoom FX, and the stock camera app for Samsung S3. Both caused the shut down / freeze thing with flash enabled when I took the picture, and both worked well without flash enabled.
- The only modification I did recently is replacing the battery, which works pretty well without any issues or strange behaviour.
Some other info's that might be needed:
Model : GT-I9300
The phone is rooted.
Android version : 4.3 - Stock (no modification, not flashed, no cyanogenmod)
Any suggestions?
Hello and welcome on XDA,
I would like to know which battery you are using.
After that I would suggest you doing a factory reset.
Kind regards
Trafalgar Square
Camera drivers have probably borked.. It has happened to my old s3 a while ago.
Backup, reset, flash stock twice and go from there. It's the only real fix that i know of.

Model Number: MT2L03
Build: MT2-L03C00B322
Android version: 5.1
EMUI 3.1
Not rooted.
Not sure exactly what the issue is. I think it needs a new battery. Because when it gets down to 10% left it will randomly go down to 2% all of the sudden, then I will get that message saying "phone powering off" then the phone is difficult to ever get back on... which is why I try to never let the battery go completely dead.
Anyways the other night it went completely dead..... I charged it for forever it seemed, I noticed it was a little warmer than usual.
I ignored it and left it plugged in.
The next day I took it apart (I have taken it apart before, and put it back together with everything working fine)
Reason I've taken it apart in the past is because I had to replace the lcd screen because the other one got sat on and it shattered.
So I have an originally white phone with a black lcd screen....
Anyways I took the phone apart again, looked at the battery to make sure it wasn't bloated or warm anymore. It was fine.
I turned it back on and I noticed when I open the stock camera app it kept saying "can't connect to camera" or something similar.
So I took it apart again, unplugged the camera and plugged it back in, tried rebooting the phone, and when I opened camera again the phone then rebooted itself a few times.
Now instead of getting the message of "unable to connect to camera" it's as if the phone doesn't see the rear camera at all anymore.
The flash for the rear camera doesn't work anymore either.
I got it to turn on for a while, when it couldn't connect to the rear camera, but then it didn't want to turn off, then the phone rebooted itself, and now I can't get the rear camera or the flash to work.
The front camera works fine. But as for the rear camera there are no options to switch to it like there used to be.
On the top of the camera app there used to be a sort of "refresh" icon that would switch between the two cameras, that's gone though.
I also tried downloading apps that tell you about android hardware... and they say for secondary camera something like "not detected"
I made sure though.... the rear camera is plugged in all the way.
I even tried the backup and reset thing....
I don't know how to boot this model of phone into safe mode. I tried holding the power button, but I'm not sure if you hold the physical button, or long press the power icon on the screen???
I opened the camera app and went to settings and restored defaults.
I also tried opening app info for camera and clicking clear data. Neither helped.
How do I get android to see that there is a camera there?
Would downgrading the phone to the original build it was on help?
I think it was originally android 4.3.
Edit: So my main questions are... how do I boot into safe mode?
Would rooting it and clearing the dalvik cache work maybe? Isn't that what causes android to say "optimizing app X of X" when booting up?
How do I root this phone? After I root it would there be anything I can do to troubleshoot the rear camera or flash?
It just seems weird to me that one minute it says it can't connect, but the flash was working. Then the phone rebooted itself, and now it doesn't even seem to realize that there is a rear camera plugged in. And now the flash for camera isn't working either. Even did a backup and reset.
Hello everyone As I tried to take a picture yesterday, only front camera was working. No buttons to change to rear camera were on screen. Also, torch option is unavailable.(no problem with torch through 3rd party app though). I cleared cache data and restarted the phone multiple times. No luck. As it's impossible to connect my elephone p9000 to a pc, I don't know what to do. I installed a few 3rd party camera apps, but since they use phone's camera, nothing happened. Please help!!

Hi,
I have been facing the same issue since Saturday 10th as well. I have a P9000E.
Tried a factory reset, but no success.
