Hi folks. Bought mine note 4 few days ago. Now i got issues with it - it is randomly reboot on incoming call. I personaly think this may be related to OTA update ive installed. Any ideas how to fix it?
Cheers

Factory reset and not installing anything seems to sort this out. I think its related to some app ive installed, sadly i dont know which

its most likely the update process itself. Don't worry. Apps (without root) aren't supposed to cause to cause random reboots.
Sometimes old settings files and stuff from the ROM before the update can conflict with the updated ROM and cause bootloops and yeah the only way to remove those files is a factory wipe.
Its not your fault. Don't worry.
In 8.2.18 china stable rom this bug fixed.
Okay, so about week ago my phone got replaced(volume buttons broken). New one i have is 8.1.15 global. All was fine until today. Issue got back. I will update to 8.2.5 and see if it gets any better but im a bit concerned about what i heard about 8.2.5 global(battery charging issue for example). Anyone can confrim this?
No charging issues here on 8.2.5. No battery drain. I recommend update to 8.2.5
thanks for the reply, as soon as i insta
Thx for the reply. As soon as i install this update i will infor if it helpes or not.
Update didn't fixed this but factory reset after update did(at least for now). I wonder what is causes this? Some bug hidden in settings on 8.1.15 that makes conflict with incoming/outgoing calls? Anybody have any ideas?
Issue got back, this is very f**king annoying. I regret buying this phone... Anyone can help? I am on 8.2.5

Backup your data, use Mi flash to reflash firmware , that will leave it like in factory state, it repartition and reformat phone in the way. Many are recommending the MM beta 8.2.7.0.
I'm currently on 8.2.2.0 very good, highly recommended but do your homework and do a lot of research before downgrading or flashing in general. I think YouTube might be your friend in this case.

Issue is getting back over and over again, tried everything(even complete flash to latest available official rom with repartition)
All methods work for a while then issue is getting back after approx 2 weeks, i dont know what causes this, i am afraid that warranty won't cover this cause this is clearly software problem built deep into ROM, and first thing they do after they got in on desk in service is factory reset - this solves the problem for a while, and so on, till the end of the time... Maybe i should try some other ROM than that piece of sh** MIUi? All i want is good performance and stability - what rom will suit my needs best? My device is redmi note 4 snapdragon 3gb/32gb

Weird issue, I no long have the option to access my phone from a computer. It just charges. Same issue with 3 cables on 2 computers. Tried multiple USB ports too. Normally a box would pop up asking how you wanted to treat the connection. Now nothing comes up. Flashed rom 3 times, full wiping it once. Worked fine before flashing this rom. Anyone else having this issue?

Dumb question... Does this update the firmware. I ask because for ViperOne, you have to update the firmware before you flash the rom.
No and if flashed a euro firmware.. I suggest you RUU back to ATT version.. Have been issues if this is not done with signal issues.

Hi Guys and greetings from the UK,
Recently i flashed the latest RR, Nitrogen and Pure roms and none of the boot. I'm just wondering if this is down to the unofficial bootloader unlock method. Could somebody either confirm or refute this please?
What options to i have to use the latest roms if it is to do with the BL?
Many thanks

It's CAF based, so Citrus will give you better and more stable signal than AOSP or LineageOS based ROMs
Hi i have flashed the rom and it wont boot im afraid. I just have the lemon/lime logo. Same as all the other roms.

Do i need a specific recovery?
I followed the instructions.
If i flash custom kernel do i do this before or after the ROM?

At first make a backup of your working ROM in TWRP (I think we can skip that step in your case)
Wipe Data/System/Internal Storage/Dalvik and Cache
Install ROM, install GApps (Android 7.1 - 64 Bit)
Reboot to System
First reboot can take 5 - 10 minutes, so don't give up if the lemon appears on your screen. Just wait a few minutes.
Everything will be working out of the box. If for some reason you want to try different kernels, just reboot to recovery, flash the kernel of you liking and reboot.

Hmmm,
Thanks for helping me, i must say. Nothing seems to be working for me. I've done as you described exactly and it just isn't booting.
I've been flashing roms forever on multiple handsets so i am very used to doing this. it just seems that no matter what i try, no matter what rom they refuse to boot.
I have to go back to an older rom or restore from twrp
I'm going to start again and follow your instructions step by step again.
Then im going to allow it 30 minutes to boot.
I will let you know.

One last idea would be to update your firmware before flashing the ROM. You will find it here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/cm14-14-1-aosp-n-firmware-kenzo-kate-t3507789
Flash firmware, wipe, flash ROM, flash GApps, reboot
Ok i will try this if the long wait method doesnt work
Ok its just started to boot. the time is 11:50 - i will leave it until 12:20
Ok so its 12:20 and its still on the lemon/lime screen. Ill try your firmware idea now.
Nope. it wont allow me to flash the citrus rom with the older cm 14 firmware.
Hi again.

Your problem is probably lp bootloader. You need to be on mm bootloader to flash latest nougat roms.
Your options.
1. Best option: flash latest global dev rom in fastboot and unlock officially.
2. Try unofficial way if for some reason official unlock didn't work : http://en.miui.com/thread-345728-1-1.html

You've basically answered your own question when you tried it and it didn't work.
Follow what JLius said or if you don't want to download large files you can try the "(experimental)updated method" posted here. Do note that I don't know if it would work if you're already unofficially unlocked as I've tried that with locked bootloader. I can guarantee it works(as in you can flash latest ROMs as long as you have 7.5.4 firmware and above) on Kate although some kenzo users stated that it worked on them.
I wonder why this isn't causing more problems for other people. I fail to believe that i'm the only person using an unofficially unlocked boot loader.

I am not rude. Try answering the same questions 10 times a day for 60 days. I think I'll stop doing that, let someone else do it or let 'm figure it out for themselves.
"Do yourself a favor and do as I told you."
This is rude. Plain and simple. There is no sentence you can now string together which will make that any less rude either.
I suggest that if you are getting frustrated by helping people, stop doing it. I don't want to feel guilty about asking for help if that's all the same to you.
Belittling people you don't know isn't an admirable trait.
Either way i thanked you for your help, lets leave it at that.

Leave some posts so I know it works OK, I'm new to this
It would be good if someone could post if this rom was ok, as have a T825 rom built with the same method that I cannot test, due to having a T820 myself. So speak up please
Thank you for this. Now I have to ask a couple of newbie questions. I've been exclusively in the Sony Xperia and Nexus worlds before, this being my first Samsung. In trying to figure out if the processes I've become familiar with are applicable to this device, using your ROM.
For instance, my Sony's were pretty easy after the initial root. Kind souls in the community took new releases and created a pre-rooted firmware with TWRP and SuperSU built-in. I could then just dirty flash the ROM from TWRP, sometimes wiping cache/dalvic, and like magic my device is upgraded with no loss of data.
Is this how it works with this AQF5 ROM? I'm starting with a rooted (@ashyx method) T820 with AQBB. Do I just download the rooted ROM to SD card, boot to TWRP, dirty flash and go?
Thanks again!
Hi,
Dirty flash should work, sometimes I try that first and if I get any strange behaviour, do a wipe and re flash then load the rest back with titanium backup. Make sure you have all your backups organised first before starting.
Let me know how it works out. The risk with the first option is something residual being left that may result in force closes or just defeating the purpose.
Just beware if for some reason it doesn't root DM verity will occur and you will be forced to format internal data so back that up to your external card too, before, just in case, shouldn't happen though. I have no idea how many others have used this yet as there have been no replies to say all ok

As long as you have the same model T-820 you can, some local variants have a local customisation but it's likely to be minor with this model. From memory when I set it up on mine all common languages were available, if that's your concern, make sure you have a twrp backup and you can always roll back
The only mods were as listed above, seems slightly quicker, perhaps the zip aligning, but it will allow more mods as they come along

For the record, I don't live in the us but bought mine from best buys whilst there, it was rooted within a couple of hours from memory,..... can't help myself ?.
I Flashed a firmware from another country after that,, just because it was a later series, can't remember which.
I use the Tweaked one as my daily driver, people seem to be finding that good. I have found the latest firmware now seems to carry out a full wipe, and I haven't managed to flash a rom over it yet, so reverted back to the Tweaked version I have.
It may require an update to TWRP
If you have any problems restore your backup, if you want to persist flash the firmware that its based on first,AQF5, then flash the ROM over it, with our without wipe.

I just ordered le max 2 on 28 September and got after 5 days because of ****y eui I flashed AEX, Linage and RR.
In RR I faced fingerprint issue also flashed modems and clear cache and divick cache but nothing help me

the camera taking pictures automatically and continuously until I closed camera app.
If anyone has solution regarding this please share with me...

EUI is heavily skinned and literally cuts the performance in half (tested using geekbench) and I personally don't like how it looks. This is why there are custom ROMs.
I had the same problem but after updating modem firmware to s21 or s23 that problem didn't exist anymore.
I,am running lineage os 14.1 on the le max 2 x820.
Also, pay attention before updating if your devices is a x820 or x828 there is a difference. and then update the driver to related version numbers.

You see this? You see this crap? This is a lie. Rooting and flashing don't mess up anything if you know what you're doing. Flashing roms improves your experience. If you don't know how to flash a rom or fix the problems that may arise, it's your fault and shouldn't do it in the first place. If you know what you're doing then go on or do it, otherwise shut up

We shouldn't be bothered but we should point out the stupid stuff. If a guy that doesn't know many things about this comes here and sees that, he would be put down and scared to root or flash or do anything. People are easily scared and influenced

Aptly said. :good:
Both of you are but out of track.
EUI is almost buggles or even completely buggles BUT its skin is really power consuming and some people don't like it so they want to switch to pure Android or near pure Android. The reason why these ROMs have bugs is that your default rom (from LeEco) is made from a whole team which job is to do the software (the rom). Custom ROMs are made by one person (sometimes more) who has to make there source code of a rom (lineage os, rr ect.) using a device tree (specs of the device) to build it. Some stuff aren't included in the device trees (The camera codes for some legal reasons and other things). Because of that people have to find a way to get the camera and other components to work. Btw people who make custom ROMs dont always receive money (but you can donate them if you want).
This is why custom ROMs are sometimes buggy.
Root and flashing are most of the time not dangerous. Some companies are making built-in root protection to prevent root and if they detect root it will bootloop (LeEco doesn't do that so our phones are fine). Flashing can also brick your phone IF you're not careful. If you don't know how to recover just Google it. There are a lot of ways to unbrick a phone or get your default rom back. Still don't be scared of it. Make sure that the rom, kernel, firmware and recovery is for your phone and only for your phone (every rom and recovery is comparable with x820, x821 and x829). If you see x800, x900 or something that doesn't match WILL NOT work.
I hope this helps somehow.

Because the fingerprint sensor is somehow "stuck" and I think that the option to take pictures with the fingerprint is selected in the camera app, then you'll have photos taken as soon as you'll start the app. Go to the settings of the camera and unselect this feature.
Also try flashing different modems, especially from 23s or 26s. I remember somebody said the fp came back to life after that.
Don't lose your patience. This is a forum, ask and you will get the answer. The phone cannot be bricked easily, so don't worry about that.

I don't know who is that supposed to help as I'm a dev and I've been in this game for 6 years. I never said anything about eui being bad or something. There was a guy that said that rooting and flashing creates all the problems we face which is not true. The reason custom roms for our device has bugs is because we don't have so proprietary hals and blobs and the ones we have are stuck on marshmallow. If someone doesn't know how to properly flash a rom and recover if something happens, they shouldn't do it

Heyyo, hmm which ones have you flashed? Can you provide links please?
What I'd recommend is trying a fastboot flash of an EUI based ROM that will hopefully redo the firmware and hopefully fix the camera and fingerprint issue.
Please download the fastboot version Cuoco92's EUI ROM and flash it via fastboot
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-leeco-le2x820max5-9-023s-cuoco92-t3608187
If that resolves it? Then you should be able to reflash TWRP and custom ROMs if you'd like
I think the OP abandoned the thread. Firstly would be nice to change the modem, then flash another EUI as per the suggestions.
PS: Guys, also stop the fight with EUI good/bad etc... Android is a system of choice, XDA is here to help, we are here to help/ get help.
Folks,
I need help in a big way. I rooted my s9+ International several months ago and had the Renovate Ice Rom on it. It was working fine but I wanted to try out a different rom. The title of my post says it all. Since loading the other rom I have not been able to get it to recognize my T-Mo sim card (tried a new one also) to make/receive calls or texts. I can access the internet just fine. I've done everything that I could think of from doing a factory reset several times to flashing the original stock rom several times, trying 2 internet services in an attempt to "unlock" it. T-Mo is obviously no help and even after flashing the stock rom twice, I sent it to Samsung Singapore thinking that they could help but they want to charge $400 to put in a new motherboard which I declined. It's on it's way back to me.
Any and all suggestions will be greatly welcomed as I've reverted to using my LG V20 for the time being. I paid $1,000 for the s9+! This is the 1st time in years of flashing rom's that I've had this issue and may never flash another rom again due to this.
Help......please.

Thanks but as I'd mentioned in my post, T-Mo was no help. Only typing in the PUK code does not resolve it.

Thank you but as I'd said in my post, I've tried several resets and even flashed the stock rom several times without success.

I looked through his entire thread, even saw some of your postings and couldn't find any mention of my issue. Mind pointing me to the exact place in his tread? Btw, I had his software on my phone prior to this coming up and it worked perfectly.
I'd appreciate it.
Flash the devbase rom. You most likely flashed the detonator mod and that can mess with returning to stock. Also follow the advice others gave and look in tek's thread. Easy solution for me when this happened was to clean flash devbase and go from there.
go to post number 116 and click the orange here button it will redirect you to the uninstall instructions

I'm currently on the stock rom after 2 factory resets then flashing the stock rom twice. I did have tek's mod on it "prior" to the above. Wouldn't all of the above have wiped his mod off the phone completely leaving nothing to uninstall?
I've done nothing to it since all of the above so supposedly it's a clean phone at this point. So based on that info., what would you suggest?
AND, thank you for the response as perhaps you and ddloco are on the right track....

Did my response make sense? Wouldn't all of the wiping have gotten rid of tek's mod?

Wiping doesn't eliminate it. You have to properly restore or flash with a rom that overwrites the mod.

Are you saying that I should root again and flash either a stock or another rom and that overwrites/deletes his mod? And doing so "may" fix that issue?

Flashing devbase rom has fixed it for me previously. After you flash it make a nandroid and save it in a safe place.

By devbase you mean any rom other than a stock one right? And thanks for your time as well in helping me with this.

The rom by alexandr in this forum. Install twrp and flash his rom. Boot up and hopefully your phone works. I ran into a similar problem right after I got my S9+.

As you're vouching for his rom, I'll root and install twrp again and flash his rom. Did you flash tek's mod afterwards as well if you're still on T-Mobile?
I'll get my phone back from Samsung Singapore this week and give it a shot. If it works, how do I get a "donation" to you?
Either way, thanks again for the help.
I can vouch for his rom cause I've run every one of them. If your getting it back from Samsung see if it works fine first. I don't need any donations. Give it to a charity of your choosing if you want. Yes I'm running teks mod on TMobile now. Having volte is a godsend on TMobile as I get to many dropped calls on 2g and hspa.

Samsung told me that they would have to charge me $400 to replace the motherboard (yes you read that right) as a fix which I obviously declined. As soon as it's back, I'll try starting from scratch again via rooting, etc. as you've confirmed about. And I'll let you know 1 way or the other as to the outcome.
Your time is definitely appreciated.... Sabresfan.
