Stickers on the back... - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

As above guys, I removed them because they looked unsightly in my clear case, but they've left a ghost/residue
Any ideas what would be safe to use for complete removal?
Thanks.

Cotton with some alcohol should do

Back Cover with Reset Hole?

Does anyone know if there is a third party Touch HD cover with a reset hole, so that we can perform reset wihtout having to remove the back cover?
I usually try to reset by software, but often this is not possible because the device is frozen, in which case I would remove the back cover and take off the battery.
How much more convenience there will be if I can just poke into the reset hold without removing the cover, isn't it?
why not just drill the cover yourself?
What tools do you use for this drilling job? How do you get it at the correct position? Will the paint around it come off if an amateur does the drilling?
I would love one with micro SD card hole. But I would need an extra back cover to have that as backup.
Try it with one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Housing-Batte...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:2|39:1|240:1318
It is a relatively simple task drilling a hole, or making a cut-out.
I would suggest buying a spare back cover first though.
You will need;
something like a 2.5mm drill bit (just got HD like an hr ago not had chance to play with it or make measurements), 2 bits of masking tape, a small ruler or measuring tape, something to protect the back when laying it on a suitable surface to drill on.
Accurately measure where the button is in relation to where the hole is to be.
Put the Masking tape either side of the back roughly where the hole will be, then carefully transfer the measurements over on to the back and mark on the tape where the hole will be.
Using a suitable bit, while resting the back on something to prevent scratches, drill the hole.
Please note having a hole may increase chances of dust and lint getting into the battery compartment - you could resolve this by getting a small 10mm square piece of foam (same kind as used in light traps in cameras - its pretty thin).
For the Micro SD cut out, sorry you'll need to ask me later once I've had a chance to have a proper look.
Feel free to PM me

As above & using my trusty Dremmel in its drill press to get an accurate location.
Although, I'm also not too keen to have an 'open' hole on my case.
For an micro SD cut out cover, suppose you could use a small piece of sheet rubber: leave 2 lugs either side to secure the flap when closed and secure the flap to the back.
Or you could perform something approaching micro surgery and construct a carrier for it that replacesthe bit cut out for the hole.

Read the first post - he wants this for when the device is frozen and a software reset would not be possible.
iPhoneLCD superior to Blackstone! but Blackstone practical than the iPhone!
I just bought a Boxwave 2500mah extended battery that comes with a extended battery door for my Touch HD and I think its pretty easy & possible to make reset hole for the battery door. You just need a really pointy and sharp exacto knife to puncture the plastic battery door and then just rotate the knife until you get your desired size of the hole. Tried this many times when I was still playing with "Lets Go Tamiya Cars".
About the hole for the microSD card, I think this one will be a little tricky to do because you might hit one of the locks for the door upon modification.

Hi eaglesteve,
If the device is frozen, can't you just reset by holding the power key down for 3 seconds? This should always kill the power, leading to a soft reset when you turn it back on. It's my preferred method for tboth the Blackstone and Diamond products.

The problem is that the Blackstone requires a touch confirmation and this is usually not possible when the device is frozen.

Chocolate stuck under camera flash cover. Help!

Hey guys,
I'm not new to XDA (I've been lurking in the HD2 Android section, but I haven't posted), but this is the first time I really felt I needed to post a new thread.
Today, I put a small chocolate in my pocket and I guess the heat from my HD2 and my pocket melted it. I was able to get most of the chocolate residue wiped away; most of it was on the screen, but some managed to get inside the flash cover. I've tried using a q-tip dipped in water, a toothpick, and a debit card to remove the residue. I've even tried melting the chocolate by turning on the flash for about 10 minutes! Is there any way to remove the glass cover on the flash without voiding my warranty?
It doesn't affect my flash, it just looks REALLY nasty.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
vacuum it!
Hi, maybe you can try heating it, then use a vacuum cleaner to suck it out? just don't suck any other parts out. hehehehe...
send it to a htc centre. they will help you out

[Q] How do you clean the microusb port?

Apparently my micro usbport is dirty or polluted:
Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15924419&postcount=13
How do you clean it? Whats the best way?
I would use a DRY toothbrush, gently, then use a vaccum to suck all the dirt out.
One of the few things I miss from the SGS - that little cover was a godsend.
Cotton wool bud/Q-tip for me, no problems so far.

worked great! thanks!
what i found to work a little better was to tap the toothbrush in and out of the socket (no pun intended) versus just trying to move it side to side.
toothbrush came out pretty dirty, and i just blew the rest out with an air blower

[Q] [Wt19i/Live With Walkman] Removing sticker

Hello,
I tried to remove the sticker in order to reveal the "test point" to unlock it, but it seems that it is not a easy job as seen in hxxp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/254/wt19.jpg/. I would like to ask for tips on removing the sticker.
Thank you,
I used hair-dryer and tweezers. I just heated that a little bit, grabbed sticker by tweezers and slowly unsticked.
I was able to peel it off quite easily with just a pair of tweezers. The hard part is getting the first corner to peel of so you can grab it. Just use something with a sharp edge like a small blade and then switch to tweezers.
After that I was even able to re-apply the sticker after the contact point procedure.

LG V30+ audio jack repair/replacement and other

Hey everyone,
I bought a Frankenstein phone, but the audio jack plays only on the left side. There is no way to stick something in there to move the jack to the right a tiny bit. Also the blacked out frame has the paint wore out around the USB and audio jack. Is there a good paint to put on it to cover it up? I use black permanent marker ,but it wears out. I've been looking for a place to repair it locally here in Washington state, but I have not received any emails back. Thanks for your time...
lol what are the chances! I am in WA too lol and had same issue with one of my V30 i bought last week, mine also only played from one side. If i pushed the plug to one side or pulled the plug out very slightly it would play both sides neither was an ideal solution for me. I used a can of air to clean jack opening first, then i removed most cotton from a Q-tip and used the Q-tip to try clean the jack from inside, neither worked at first but then i pushed in the plug fast by placing the plug in jack (without pushing it all the way in) and hitting it with hand to fast-push it in couple of times, it probably dislodged the dirt or lint stuck in there and it started working. Sometimes a piece of lint or other stuff can get stuck in there or cover the connections and plug doesn't make full connection anymore. Just make sure that you don't use a pin or needle to try clean inside the jack as you will probably break or damage the connections inside.
In your case it could be same or something else entirely but I suggest you try fixing yourself first because getting it repaired will cost you $50-100 or even more. These phones are not easy to open or attempt DIY repairs on.
As far as the paint chipping off, you could buy paint from a hobby shop like one in Redmond (HobbyTown USA), they sell small spray paint cans, you could use tape or stickers to cover the rest of phone and spray the worn out area with matching paint. Or just use a nice case that covers most of the affected area.
Lol that is a coincidence.. I'll try cleaning it out and see. Did you happen to buy yours off of eBay from a seller in Texas? Thanks for the reply
