ANDROID Lollipop for LG G2 general discussion (news&leaks&problems&expectations)
LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Confirmed, Could Arrive Early 2015
Android 5.0 Lollipop was officially announced earlier this month and since then many Android OMEs revealed their plans to update their devices to the new Android version. LG Germany revealed in a post on their Facebook page that the LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is coming.
The said post was actually made to announce that the update for LG G3 will arrive in the last quarter of the year, but it also mentioned about the company’s flagship smartphone from last year. It says that the Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG G2 “will follow,” which might mean early 2015.
We are glad to see that LG is not forgetting about the owners of “older” devices. I am sure that the LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be warmly welcomed by everybody.
As you may know, Android 5.0 is the biggest update Google’s mobile platform has received since its debut. It’s even bigger than the jump from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. The new Android iteration arrives with redesigned notifications panel and quick settings, it brings lock screen notifications, battery saver mode, multi-user support for phones, a new design philosophy called Material design, a dynamic status bar, revised recents screen, support for 64-bit processor, Android Runtime (ART), and many more.
What are your expectations for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG G2? Please let us know in the comments section below.

yet another Lollypop thread? c'mon
I truly expect my G2 phone, after update to L, will "suddenly" become 6", QHD screen with 3.0GHz processor and 4GB or RAM and battery lasts 2 weeks with moderate use.
Wait ............. not doable? If so, I expect nothing then.
Sad!
Hello,
Do you think that when and if lg releases Android 8.0 it would have support for Project Treble? Possible it would over time be done through development be done if people are still willing to for this device.
8.0 official upgrade with treble support? You should pray for LG to release Oreo for G5. It would be a miracle if they releases official Oreo upgrade. LG many told that G5 sales were disappointment for them. As far as project treble is regarded, there is possibly no chance LG would be giving that for G5 (Even G6 and V30 seems to not have project treble support). And Project Treble can only be supported if OEM gives it support. Developer probably can't give any device that support as it includes low (hardware) level programming and requires exclusive resources.
Hey I wouldn't even be surprised if LG releases their G7 and V40 phones with Android Nougat for 'logistic reasons' to avoid including Treble. They abandoned the G3 AT&T, US Cellular, and Sprint variants especially. They killed nougat support for the G4 as well. Not to mention they neglected to fully address bootlooping phones (5x, G4, V10). My next phone definitely will not be LG, likely Huawei, Xiaomi, Oneplus, Leeco, or ASUS. This customer support thread gives hope that the G5 will update to Oreo and get Treble: https://reddit.com/r/lgg5/comments/7fh1g7/will_lg_g5_receive_oreo_on_july_2018
If they do update the phone, it would be nice for them to update all variants this time around: H830, H850, H820, VS987, and RS988.
Motorola introducing new Moto G6 Plus having latest Android Oreo 8.0 OS and it has featured Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Processor along with 3GB, 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. G6 plus Available Colors are Black (Deep Indigo), Silver(Nimbus), Teal(Dark Lake).
I don't why every time Moto came up with same old boring design they should redesign their smartphone segment. Even it got good specs but price factor was utter **** they always price higher than competitor phone . As usual no android os updates :crying:

Hello,
can you tell me please which phone is better ?
Im deciding about this two phones.
I love this notch display, but the LG G6 has IP68 and i think better support with android and custom roms.
I recommend Honor 10.
It is a newer phone and has more power under the hood. Also, Huawei provides better support for its devices and more timely security updates. My daughter's Honor 6x has the Junes patch while my G6+ is till on January's.

"Huawei provides better support for its devices" - Simply, no.
"[...] more timely security updates" - It's true but only for the newest flagships. They stopped updating my last phone after a year.

I had a same issue last week trying to decide wheather to pick up LG G6 or Honor 10.
Honor 10 is a newer phone has more storage and a newer processor which means it will be faster. It also has a new slick look with barely any bezels although LG G6 has similiar screen to body ratio. LG G6 on the other hand has SD card support and IP68 and also is a last year flag ship phone(even though it was the slowest of flagships last year)
I have never owned a Huawei so I don't know how they handle updates for their phones but I believe both Honor and LG G6 should be updated to Android 9 in the future.
In the end I went with LG G6 mostly due to sd card support, IP68 and ability to unlock bootloader and flash custom roms. As far as I know Huwaei has recently stopped providing official ways to unlock bootloaders in their phones which means that there won't be many if any custom roms for Honor.(You might want to post this in Honor 10 forums to confirm that).
if you are confused with G6 and P10 or P20 my answer was pretty obvious: P10 or P20 was better than G6, but talking about Honor, well, G6 have better features and allow custom rom's and so on...things if you like you gonna miss with Honor 10.
overall Honor can have a better speaker, a better and more pleaseble screen but in the end G6 win for the amazing camera and sd card support.
Honor 10 no OIS no IP68 dust/water proof (up to 1.5m for 30 mins), MIL-STD-810G compliant
that was my point to pick G6 over Honor 10
if the look and compact size your first and last priority then pick honor 10
Everything except g6
Lg is a lier and i recommend you don't buy any lg product.
I bought Honor 10. guys thanks for nice advices
I stumbled on this article:
LG surprises with Android 12 update containing June 2022 security patch for LG Wing
LG has begun upgrading the Wing to Android 12, seven months on from the device's last OS update. Android 12 brings several changes to the device and contains the latest set of Android security patches. Rolling out in South Korea first, Android 12 is over a 1.5 GB download and is the LG Wing's...

So apparently some Wings are already on Android 12!
I just bought an unlocked carrier free LG Wing (LM-F100EMW) in Germany and it says it is up to date with Android 10 with a 1 July 2021 Security Patch Level?
Why is there such a discrepancy in release dates?
Strange. I wouldn't sweat it. 10 is better version anyway. Another from 9 or higher is secure enough unless you do something stupid.
Well, I did some digging and found this thread:
LGUp 1.16.3 Patched Found and Works with LG Wing
Honestly found it on XDA of all places after looking for it all night What does 1.16 give us that 1.14 doesn't? Everything honestly. Could not get my Wing recognized to flash with 1.14. No 1.15 Patched exists either We can downgrade with...

And I managed to flash Android 11.
Can you flash back to 10? I am in the US and no update to 12 yet
Just received Android 12. So far seems to be working well. Have some nice added features, mainly seems to be more polished than 11. Another cool feature is that it shows you with a Green Dot indicator by the battery when you're camera and/or microphone is on.

Seems pretty snappy. Window, transitions, notification pull Downs, notification previews are all prettier. I would say I'm pleased with Android 12. Battery life seems to be as good or better also!
So I ordered a F100N to use in Scandinavia. And I heard they've come further than the US versions. Just wanted to know if it could be upgraded to Android 12? Or even 13?
LG Wing Android 12 updates has bugs. I am not able to open Wi-Fi settings and other sensors stopped working. After a hard reset it worked for 3 weeks but again same problem. Even after installing new patch with 5G support my Wing in unable to connect to Wi-Fi.
