How to find/get IP of apps Host? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would like to know how to find the IP of a particular Android App. Assuming not all apps are hosted by Google. I believe some are not so if anyone can share in a way to get this info I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Can you please more brief. I don't understand what exactly you want.
Or whats your purpose so that I can tell you more easily.

[Q] aLogcat settings

How should my preferences be set on aLogcat to help Dev's diagnose issues? I can't find any specific info, or a "how to" anywhere. I currently don't have a PC or adb, but would still like to be able to help diagnose issues.
No one knows?

Depends on the type of information the dev wants to see. Usually, a good developer will tell you what they need you to pull from logcat.
If you were having issues with one of my application, such as Flash Image GUI, or something else, I'd give you the logcat name I have my application dump details with as that would help you filter out all the HTC logcat spam.
Usually, by watching logcat, you can start to pick up the names applications uses to dump their information, but there is no "enforced" standard for the name an application uses in the logcat dumps.
System applications usually follow the same naming standards and HTC's sense applications generally follow the same naming standards from version to version.
Hope that helps!
It does a little. I'm just gonna play with it and hope something makes sense. Also, thanks for Flash Image GUI, very helpfil for us 1.5 guys!

Security Questions/Concerns; Exfoliate Facebook App

I ran across an app claiming to delete all facebook content.
Exfoliate for Facebook
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.worb.android.exfoliate&hl=en
My question is whether it is safe or not? I attempted using scripts from usercripts to wipe FB data but I believe that because of the new FB UI, the scripts no longer work. Plus, I'm not sure how it could possible delete likes and comments, aside from just wall posts.
Has anyone unpacked the apk and checked it out? Is there a way to check where it's sending the packets of data to? If it's not going to some remote server somewhere that isn't part of FB, that would be great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
...or if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can do it myself, that would also be greatly appreciated. Would Shark for Root tell me where the data is being sent to?

[Q] About Google Drive

This may seem unrelated to SIII but i donot know where else to post.
This is about Gmail and Google Drive
I have installed the App in my S3 and i have the problem that whenever i upload something in Drive i have to go to drive from my computer to make the file public i.e. sharing with anyone.
Is there any way in the Drive app from which i can share a file to anyone
There is option to share but it just shares with specific people like from their email address. I hope you understand what i am trying to ask.
If you do know then please do let me know.
Sorry if it is in wrong forum

I have a similar problem. I can't share a folder from Google Drive with specific people.. Sharing files also doesn't really share it, the recipient has to click on "request access" to send me a notification to enable access from the desktop.

Google Cast Permissions

Grettings everyone,
I've been lurking for months but this is my first post. I hope I'm using the right forum. If anyone knows, I would like to know if this is the standard set of permissions for a freshly installed Google Cast app. There is a specific reason I'm asking, but that would probably bore your guys, since I'm a noob and likely have no idea what I'm talking about. And, if nobody minds too much, I'll probably be asking the same question about a few other apps as well. So, anyway, if you could take a look and let me know if anything seems out of the ordinary I would really appreciate it.:
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE
CHANGE_WIFI_STATE
GET_ACCOUNTS
MANAGE_ACCOUNTS
INTERNET
READ_PHONE_STATE
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
BLUETOOTH
BLUETOOTH_ADMIN
com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES
And also, if anyone knows, when I use Solid Explorer's App Viewer it shows "Activities" with the following list. Are these all expected activities (this is not why I'm asking, but there is a facebook activity despite the fact that I don't have the facebook app installed, or the facebook messenger.)?
DiscoveryActivity
MainActivity
OffersActivity
NoDevicesActivity
TutorialActivity
TutorialOtaActivity
NoTutorialOtaActivity
OtaErrorActivity
SearchResultsActivity
WebViewActivity
HelpActivity
CastScreenActivity
DeviceSettingsActivity
DeviceSetupActivity
PostSetupActivity
ApplicationSettingsActivity
DebugActivity
FacebookActivity
LicenseMenuActivity
LicenseActivity
AdActivity
InAppPurchaseActivity
If anyone can offer any info I would really appreciate it.
Thanks guys!
Paige
