Read above, xiaomi open their kernel source code, so we can awaiting custom kernels?
Really? read before posting
good news
So Meizu finally released their source code for M3 note for both the Chinese and the international version https://github.com/meizuosc?tab=repositories . So getting roms for meizu m3 note is gonna be easier I believe.
Yeah! Finally going to see some CM goodness om this phone. Is anyone working on this phone? Any developers?
Well they are going to need to unlock the boot loader before any work can begin on it.
Can anyone tell me in details or step by step on how can i build ROM from Source for My 'Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus'. I'm noob for building ROM! Help me out!
Look up their Patch rom. You dont build it from source like you do other devices. I would start by learning Linux.
I bought a moto edge 20 fusion from Flipkart almost a week ago. I've been watching this forum for a week but there have been no posts whatsovever. So this led me to wonder wether this phone will get any custom rom at all.
Even a bootloader unlock or custom recovery for this device would be much appreciated.
If anyone's seeing this post, please don't hesitate to leave your thoughts in the comments.

Yeah same thoughts, only hindrance is the MediaTek SoC. I read around and it seems MediaTek doesn't share their source code or libraries to public like SnapDragon which is necessary for custom ROM development. Also read that one Xiaomi device with mediaTek had great custom ROM support as Xiaomi provided the source code or other resource, so it's not impossible to build custom ROM. Let's hope Motorola and MediaTek provide resources.

Are you willing to test the kernel?
Sakthivel Nadar, has agreed to develop kernel and roms, he is maintaining roms and did bringup for these devices.
- Poco M2
- Redmi 9 Prime
- Realme 1
- Realme U1
- Realme C2
He is also maintaining PE officially for Redmi 9 Prime and Poco M2.
All the above devices are based on mediatek chipsets.

CodeAurora lists lots of releases from Qualcomn in https://wiki.codeaurora.org/xwiki/bin/QAEP/release. `LA.UM.9.15.1.r1-05900-KAMORTA.0` or `bengal` is the codename used for the kernel in my Xiaomi Poco M3. However, how do I pick the kernel source for this release? Where is it? I cannot find it, I don't know how to clone it.
I tried compiling the official xiaomi kernel https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/lime-q-oss but it's broken. I applied some patches but there are lots of broken things, this kernel does not compile, and it's old.

yes but I don't want to clone a random kernel from some random place on github, I wanted one from codeaurora or xiaomi official repos
good luck fixing yourself - xiaomi always releases broken sources
