Flyme OS opinions - Nexus 6P General

Hi guys, if you don't already know flyme OS is on the nexus 6p now and I was wondering for anyone who has tried it what your opinions are. How would you say the rom compares to popular roms like pure nexus and DirtyUnicorns etc in terms of speed, performance, battery and stability. If you don't know, flyme OS is very similar to ios in a lot of ways and is similar to how miui goes in the complete opposite direction of stock android. I think flyme is better than miui in terms of performance but not sure how it compares in the important factors compared to AOSP roms like pure nexus. Any opinions and tips would be greatly appreciated.

I won't mess with it simply based on the fact that it's running 6.x

anyone managed to boot it...couldnt get it to boot pas the google screen

Yeah, I agree now I've looked into it. I would like to know how it is when on nougat though as I'd like to try it.

Honestly, when I flashed it in recovery it said install error something. It wouldn't even flash properly. Maybe that was because I downloaded it through adm though.

[Q] MIUI Rom possibility?

I was wondering if anyone knows, if the MIUI rom can be used with our phone, and if yes, if it can be used with SafeStrap as well.
Here is the link for it http://en.miui.com/thread-9785-1-1.html

Not that one, if you search the development section you'll find a 4.2.2 build of MIUI that kind of worked... definitely won't work on Safestrap. Best you can do is run Chaos ROM that has some MIUI elements built in as options in Aroma.

You could compile it from source for this device: https://github.com/MiCode/PatchRom
I would do it for you but I'm not the biggest fan of MIUI and plus my bootloader is locked.

I am not going to ask you to do it just because it is something I want. Plus, I am using SafeStrap and it sounds like I wouldn't be able to use it with that anyway. Oh well...

Any updates on AOSP 7.1.1 progress? I am currently on the AOSP 6 ROM posted on here but I lack IMEI and root. I do have TWRP and a backup.
I did attempt Lineage 7.1.1 on here but it failed (TWRP recovery from the post said "incompatible data"). These same problems occurred when I tried to flash Marshmellow ROMs on a stock Lollipop install.
I'm willing to help debug or test an AOSP 7.1.1 ROM for the Vivo 5. If I can simply get it to stock and have IMEI back I would be happy. Root would be nice, but stock has less bloat to be concerned about uninstalling.
I mainly just want to get the Vivo 5 on stock Marshmellow or Nougat. Great hardware, ****ty stock OS and I worry about spying (YGPS app has permissions for EVERYTHING).

android p sources are out final but no ports yet?

It's been a week android pie is available...and xiaomi mi4 even got the android pie ROM today and we don't have any leak about Nexus 6p. I guess Nexus and pixel should be the first to get any leak on os because of same manufacturer. Does anyone know what's the status of development of pie of
Nexus 6p :crying:
There was a post up yesterday. @drewwalton19216801 successfully built Android pie for Nexus 6P, but wasn't able to test it because the physical port on his phone didn't connect to adb for some reason. So, he posted the builds if others wanted to try booting. There were a couple that were attempting to flash and help with the progress. The thread appears to have vanished overnight. I can't seem to find it anymore.
Jup, I tested it.
Was able to grab a logcat from adb so the kernel itself seems to boot.
But there are too many fatal errors right now.
I believe it was a pretty hacked build.
Duplicate whoops

I know @drewwalton19216801 said he used the official source code and drivers, kernel, etc. That's probably the most pure it can get. Probably another reason he wanted to get it tested. I'm sure if he had a working phone that development would move along more quickly for him.
Last he said in his thread was that he was compiling something specific for you in regards to getting it to flash properly. I was really looking forward to that thread making progress. It's kind of mysterious that the mods just made his thread disappear as if nothing ever happened.

What about porting newer version of kernel (4.4.x for example) to make Angler project treble ready ?

4.4 kernel will never happen on Angler.
Treble, maybe. I won't be porting it ?
OnePlus get AOSP Android Pie ports
OnePlus 2 recieve port of Pie, an it too has Snap 810
I'm currently working on porting P over and I have it compiling right now. Once I have it able to boot I will upload it. Then I'll optimize it and fix all of the underlying bugs.
Edit: Repetition.

It's going to be released as an AOSP rom, So that the community has a baseline for Pie ROMS. Other than compatibility tweaks, and some small performance, thermal and battery tweaks, it will be completely vanilla. I'm trying to keep it as pure as possible meaning only AOSP source and Huawei binaries.
However, I already have plans on releasing a Pie based custom rom with a Pixel theme. So keep an eye out for AugmentOS in the future
Edit: This may take awhile. The non-frees don't want to compile correctly and when they do they don't boot.

Ayy it has been a little bit longer for you then! Welcome back to the unrelenting hostility of building AOSP for unsupported phones.
A couple friends and I have gotten a working build but IMS, RIL, camera, Bluetooth, and probably more need to be fixed. Please be patient, this is in no way an easy thing.

Cool. Ik know it can really be a b#tch without a decent (official) device tree.
Once tried to make a device tree for the Galaxy A7 Exynos. Didn't get it to work.
Keep it up!!

Fast/Stable/Daily Driver ROM

It has been years since I have followed up on Moto E2's development (not post 2015 I suppose). I feel like the stock ROM (5.1.1; yes I went back to Stock) has become laggy after updating it with all these apps. So, any suggestions on what I should flash? I want something clean, fast and should have good ram management, while not being laggy like the Stock L.
Thanks.

I have pretty much the same question as riyan65.
I miss the good old official Lineage 14 and I don't want to use Gapps, so Pixel experience is not for me.
Any other suggestion?

[ADVICE] Installing Rom

Hello everyone,
I've been using the Pocophone F1 for quite some time now and really like it but I'd like to install another rom because I don't want all the bloatware.
I did already watch some tutorials which explains how to unlock the bootloader but where do I download the right TWRP version? (I think I have the international version of the Pocophone)
Also, Pixelrom seems very good or would you guys recommend another rom?
Thanks in advance!

Each ROM has its own uniqueness. What may be the best ROM for me may not be the best ROM for you. Once you try a new ROM for a few days, try changing ROMs. You will settle for one that you like best. Some ROMS will have Battery life, some have performance, some are pleasing to the eyes, some have additional features that you may like, some may have features that you don't use at all. So asking which is the best ROM is not correct.
Try different ROMs, the Opening Post will tell you its USP, decide and go ahead.
