Disabling significant motion detector/sensor - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

According to GSam Battery Monitor this sensor uses quite a lot of battery.
Does anyone have any idea how to disable it from working when running the official Indian Stock ROM?

the only sitting that related to screen display is Adaptive brightness you can see it under Brightness.
try it and see the consume of the battery.

Nope, this one cannot help even theoretically. The motion sensor is active while the phone is resting.

okay got it :good:

From what I found, this is virtual sensor that combines data from multiple real sensors and is used to control the Doze mode. I haven't found how restrict Play Services to access the sensors but Doze can be enforced with apps such as Forcedoze or Greenify.

light sensor

hi all, I noticed that light sensor doesnt work properly, when I go from dark to light area, the brightness increases but when I go from light to dark area the brightness wont decrease, on honeycomb it worked properly, anybody else experiences this problem?
Same here, it goes bright but does not decrease.
I use the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.DisplayBrightness&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsInJ1YmJlcmJpZ3BlcHBlci5EaXNwbGF5QnJpZ2h0bmVzcyJd
make an invisible slider on the edge of screen to adjust brightness.
is there any way to make it work properly?
Don't think so. Its pretty much unusable now.

There are lots of negative comments about light sensor, but i have to say it works well to me on ICS. Could be possibly massive amount of defected devices.
Lightsensor doesn't work for me either - too bad, hope it will be corrected.
Perhaps it's because I'm running ICS "General Channel".

Do the sensor dim the light in the same session for you?
Here it turns up the light but not down again.

Same here, adjusting upwards works fine, but it doesn't adjust downwards in low light conditions.
I have tried two apps that turns the light down again, custom auto brightness and lux auto brightness.
One small problem. The pad will crash on pattern unlock after sleep. I Also the light sensor will not work s after wake up sometimes.

I'm guessing no one has had any luck with this issue but I figure I'd necro the thread anyways. My light sensor sucks also. I used 'Android Sensor Box' to get the values coming out of the sensor. It only displays either 40 lux or 280 lux which is obviously not right. This is on Cyanogen 9, stock t-mobile ICS and the rooted international gingerbread(can't remember which one exactly).
So I was wondering if anyone who owns one of these has ever gotten a sensor value that makes any sense.
thanks
nope,
I use instead display brightness https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.DisplayBrightness&hl=no
create an invisible brightness slider on theedge of the screen.
Try using custom auto brightness with the auto brightness on (there's a setting in that app that disabled the system auto brightness at screen on. Turn it off).
The original kernel only recognized 3 light levels. If you use bart's kernel it will recognize 6 levels.
Yes, I think there's a software problem because both app (lux and cua) crash hard in HMP, but I don't think fixing it is a priority.

How to use custom auto brightness without crashing the tablet.
There are 2 options that should be followed, other settings can be adjusted to your liking.
1. In preferences, Check Use pulsed sensor mode. Basically this option will make the app read the sensor itself instead of listening the sensor value given from the system.
2. In advanced preferences, set the sensor update speed to either half sec or 1 sec. I tried normal, but the app won't read the sensor value, so probably the slow normal maximum setting only works if you get the sensor value from the system.
You can set disable system auto brightness. I recommend it before because the setting was a "hack" which was making the system read the brightness value thus the app can get that value. Right now it's recommended that you check the disable system auto brightness.

Usually, the light sensor is used for adapting the screen/display light/brightness in relation to the environment light/brightness.
At least when you have enabled auto-brightness in menu "Settings" > "Display" > "Auto-Brightness".
So, the screen brightness will be reduced in the darkness to safe battery power.
If you have disabled the light sensor, you should also disable auto-brightness and set a fixed birghtness level.
Good luck !

Auto Brightness issue in low light

The Auto Brightness works well during day time.
It is observed that in low light or total darkness it suddenly becomes zero.
After a couple of screen off/on the Auto brightness works in low light.
Anybody facing this problem??

Reboot device or calibrate proximity sensor in phone manager once. Check update and stay updated.
The phone manager has all tests but there is no calibration option.
Did the sensory test and the test result are good.
But the issue is still there , the brightness does not increase in dark/low light
The phone is updated with latest patches.

Me too experiencing the same thing, I just tried auto brightness off. Seems like a poor calibration.

My screen is flickering bright green color on low brightness?

I have a 2 years old Samsung Galaxy S9 plus.
Sometimes, when I lower the brightness of my phone or the brightness goes down on low light conditions as Adaptive Display is 'ON', a bright green color keeps flickering. If I increase the brightness again, it will go.
I did whatever the internet told me to do. I factory reset the phone, enabled the 'Disable HW Overlays' in Developer Options etc. Nothing solved the problem.
This happens only very rarely. Most of the times, my phone will be fine. Very rarely, the flickering occurs.
I took it to the nearest Samsung service center and they told me that i may have to change my phone display. It costs around Rs. 19000.
My question is, if it is a display problem, why it happens very rarely? I want to make absolutely sure that this is a display problem before replacing the display.
Will this cause because of any other issue?
@jayeshbabuav
Do some troubleshooting to make sure the flickering is a problem with your Android’s software, instead of hardware - here: the OLED display. I think it has to do with device's GFX driver - keyword: Screen refresh rate ( Hz ). If refresh rate is too low then flickering occurs because there aren't enough updates per second.

Don't have a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus phone, hence can't tell you.

If this were the case, the screen of a mobile device or laptop being on low battery would flicker all the time. Think about ...
As said: It's a misbehaving app or phone's GFX driver that causes screen flicker.
hey, i've just had this problem too yesterday, with my xperia xz3 which has an oled screen. It flickers like crazy on low brightness, and gave me a CRT like effect when i turned it on or off. have you found the fix to it already? or maybe you changed to a new phone?

Question Proximity and light sensor problem

I just noticed that i have an error in proximity during call and auto brightness. How do i fix it?
can somebody confirmed if theirs are working on one ui 4.1?
I'm using UI 4.0 haven't noticed anything like that. It uses ambient light sensor as it lacks proximity.
Check if hardware is working fine using CPU Z see tsl sensor lux value.

Does yours have adaptive display on OneUI 4? mine is gone. Only outdoor mode.
Also I cant seem to find that tsl sensor lux value on CPU-Z
Yes, mine is still intact. Did you check sensors tab?
