I have some questions plz answer so then I will purchase this device and decide
1. How good is battery life.SOT?
2. With RN3 they are using fast charging after flashing radon kernel. So can we enable that here too?
3. How deep are the blacks on display? I mean when you boot up with mi logo can you compare with redmi note 3 and see how black the display is?I have seen they are bluish black not completely black.
If you can attach a photo it will be great:highfive:
4. Speaker quality?
Thanks in advance for answering

It has excellent battery life, 8-10Hrs SOT confirmed.
We'll see once the custom kernels out.
Dunno
Speaker quality is good, too.

Hi
Just got home with my Note 2 and have been loving it except for a possible issue with my LED light. When charging and the screen goes off, the red LED comes on which is good, the issue is that it is very dim. The odd thing is that when I power the device off and leave it charging, the LED indicator then turns bright red like it is usually supposed to be(like it is on my S3). I was just wondering if someone could power off their device while charging and tell me if the red charging LED is brighter than when your device is powered off than when when it's powered on.
One other issue is I tried to charge the Note 2 using one of the many Android charging cables I have laying around and when I use anything other than the charger supplied in the box, I get an intermittent tone and the device will not allow me to turn the screen off.
Would be much appreciated if someone can test these two possible issues and let me know if theirs does it too or if it's just mine.
Thanks for your time!!
I believe the led light is sensitive to light, meaning it will be dimmer in a darker area and lighter in a lighter area.

That was it bro, thank you!! I was doing all of this is a dim environment and after reading your post I grabbed a flashlight and shined it at the front of the Note 2 and at first no change....but then all of a sudden it switched to the bright red LED. Big time thanks man I was not wanting to have to go back to the store and exchange again. I already had to exchange the first of for what was either a stuck pixel or dust under the screen. This one the screen is perfect so I want to keep it.
Can you or anyone else test a random charger for me and see how the Note 2 reacts. Wondering if this thing needs to be used with the supplied charger to not make this sound and the screen staying on. The odd thing is I just tried my Nexus 7 charger and it works without issue but all my other chargers act wonky with the Note 2. Again man thank you for your time to post it helped me out big time

I notice there are stuck pixels on my reno 4,is that normal?do you have stuck pixel ?and anybody knows how to fix it?
i have notice but i see them only when booting my phone there are many .. But i dont see them when phone is booted everything is perfect so i dont think its problem
I think there is a percentage basis depending on the manufacturer but If you have anymore than 3 dead pixels I would be looking to have the panel replaced under warranty.

not really stucked pixels, you should try with maximum brightness, black screen to see when you phone boots up completely.

How about yours?
it happened to me lol. The MI bootlogo got stuck for 1 minute. It was like an amoled burn in but after that it went away.
HOW IT HAPPENED: I was installing a ROM and it took some time to boot at the MI logo (3 minit) and the MI logo got burned on the screen. After that I used the phone as usual and the burn in MI logo disappeared. I cant guarantee my problem is the same as yours tho.
When I bought my phone I checked it for like 5 minutes in the store to make sure that I don't have any dead/stuck pixels and only after I verified that I bought it.
Anyway I think they won't cover it under warranty unless it's more than 3 pixels but you should try anyway.
And by the way burn-in and stuck pixels are different and since this is an LCD display the burn in will go away after a few minutes but a stuck pixel can stay forever even if it's not a dead pixel.
It's a known problem with the Redmi Note 4. The panels are bad \ low quality.
A shame really, great phone other than that.
It seems the number of stuck pixels is increasing with time. I also didn't have even one stuck pixel when I got it, and I have around 20 after 1 month of use.
Yep. Have stuck pixel. When I got it, I checked it and did not have any. Over time two appeared. Since it's a low budget phone and low quality , i think it's normal. I usually buy a phone with quad hd screen to bypass this problem. Cause with quad screens, the dpi is so high that you won't noticed any dead or stuck ones. But oh well, you get what you pay for.
Has anyone replaced screen panel and fixed the problem?
bump, looking for a solution to this.
i got that too :crying:
because mido have 2 type lcd
i forgot the name
1 type is have a good quality
and 1 type have a normal quality
Hi there. I own a redmi note 4 and I've been using it for a month now. Last week I noticed some odd icons on a plain grey wallpaper and realised that the display has an image retention problem. I could notice Facebook icons as well as whatsapp ones that I had used just a minute before. Any app I use immediately leaves a residue in the background, even at low brightness. I immediately went to the nearest MI service centre and replaced the LCD panel under warranty but after getting home and taking a closer look, I realised the problem still persists. Any help regarding this would be highly appreciated.
There is no fix. Generally the retention goes away after a few minutes-hours.

Yes, it does go away after a while, but is this normal across all redmi note 4 devices/ devices with IPS LCD display? One of my friends has the same device and he hasn't noticed anything like this so far..

I had it on my mtk redmi note 4. Now im using snapdragon rn4 havent noticed it tough but i dont stick to one app for a long time though
I found fix run this app for 30-1hr then cooldown your phone
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blasterbyte.burn_infix
And use this app to prevent screen burn
Bluelight filter - search on playstore
See mine after i run this app my burn is gone
is the solution permanent? does the problem happen again?
Found Fix
I found the solution.. Just flash havoc rom will fk kernal.. Use smart pixel feature. Set the smart pixel setting to 25 percentage... And in display setting go to colour and set all the value to 95 percentage.. Done ??
Hi guys,
I have a Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon with a screen replaced recently. The problem is the screen only works after the phone is booted, if I let the screen turn off, it can't be waken up again. There's still backlight, vibration and all and I still hear sound. Which means the touch does work, only the screen doesn't display anything, just black. What can be the cause of this? Thanks everyone!
I have exactly the same problem on a Redmi Note 2. And this problem is not so rare because i found a few posts with same symptoms but i cannot find a fix. If you please find, please let me know.
Can I ask you something cause I'm a technician and I face similar problem not exactly the same. Were your screens bought with frame already glued and you face that issue? Usually such issues occur when they is no duct tape (sorry for my English) at the lcd flex cable where it folds under the frame or where the backlight circuit (I don't know the correct explanation in English I hope you understand). So I needed at my phone to replace the frame as well that's why I bought a lcd with frame (that of course was terribly glued). My issue is blacklight flickering when it wakes from sleep and if I push the edges it's ok. I have replaced a lot of note 3 LCDs without frame and I know that in all of them I had to put duct tape to make them work properly and without issues, I had only one for note 3 pro SE that was properly made. So I believe both your issues as well as mine have to do with that. If you have the broken ones, take apart the new and check side by side the flex cables and if you find exposed connections compared to the original just put duct tape.

Perhaps you might want to enlighten us as to which ROM are you using, and who is the manufacturer of the lcd display?

Hi, I'm using the Ressurection Remix ROM on Android 7.1.2, planning to update to Oreo soon with the Pixel Experience ROM. And the LCD manufacturer is Tralfagar.

Well, I don't know about Trafalgar - but if the new display is has an ebbg chipset, then you may have problems. There have been issues with ebbg displays and TWRP (when using custom ROMs - see for example https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...redmi-note-t3716706/post74815338#post74815338). Does everything work properly when you reboot to TWRP recovery? If not, then this may be the problem - and you may need to change your ROM to the latest MIUI releases.
I am facing same problem
I have redmi note5/5+, using custom rom (ion), I am facing same problem, changed lcd two time, tried with other roms, but nothing improved, did you find any solution.
Can't we just enable always on display? Aren't there any hack to enable it?
And if it's
Battery will not be able to stand 1Hour at least i think
Come on you own smartwatch
Keep raising your hand every few minutes, it will stay on always then. Problem solved.

No i think i will go for at least one day.. See other AMOLED watch from xiaomi.. they go for 7-10 days with always on display.. And compared to that mi band 4 can go for 1 day at least

You know he was kidding, right?
AOD function must have support not only from the software, but also HW. In theory, you could enable AOD on Mi Band 4, but you'd risk AMOLED burn in and most probably very high power consumption. If you really must have this feature, buy a band/watch which supports it properly and out of the box.

It should be possible theoretically.
The latest firmware (1.0.6.24) has option change the display duration (Auto screen off time). But, it only let's to choose between 5 to 10 seconds. So, hopefully, the firmware update can take care of increasing the time to longer period (infinite).
A very light watch face with minimum color (black and white) theme should take care of the quick battery drain.
I think, is cool to have this option.

That's what i am thinking... It's possible actually although some are not agreeing with it..
That's nice that you think it, but I'm sure you would blame Xiaomi for adding this feature if it caused persistent image retention problem, desaturated colors over time and maybe some other HW defects due to prolonged use of OLED panel.
Yes, the burn-in could be a problem as well.
May be we can come up with some solution like the moving display (like the ones in old screensavers on CRT) or the one in Glitch watchface and UI (given below).
