Hi, someone have problem with the autofocus with camera on nougat?
First, I was thinking was a hardware issue with the camera so I call sony customer service and they tell me that if don't have the ticket there's no warranty because I bought on Internet like eBay but here in Mexico my model it's E5803.
So last night I decide to root this little one and when I downgrade to 5.1.1 to backup the TA partition, when I was on 5.1.1 I open the camera and by miracle the camera autofocus fixed and works very well, then I update to 6.0 MM and still working but on some occasions the autofocus was a little slow compare to 5.1.1 but work
Finally I backup TA and unlock bootloader flashed last 7.0 nougat form E5823 and test the camera and the problem back again with the autofocus

My Le Max 2 became not able to work Camera AutoFocus suddenly.
But it can take photos.
Focus became rigid.
I entered android secret code *#*#34971539#*#* few days ago.
I wanted to see Detailed camera information.
But nothing happend when I entered that secret code.
Is it affected this situation?Was Camera firmware broken?Or was camera hardware broken?
I asked this issue at indian Le forum.
There is one who have met same issue.He also entered that code and his camera also became not able to work Autofocus.
He said"I updated the ROM to the leaked 829 US version and camera is ok again"
After that, I also tryed to flash 829 US ROM with wipes system,data,cache,dalvic.
But nothing changed...
My camera dosen't work Autofocus yet.
If camera firmware was broken when I entered that code, are there any way to fix it?
Do you know Where the camera firmware is?
Is the camera firmware in any phone's partitions?

* Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
* Update camera firmware in SD card
* Get camera firmware version in LeEco Le Max 2
* Get firmware update count
WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take LeEco Le Max 2 to service center to reinstall camera firmware.
As above, you probably need to have LeEco repair it.

as far as I read nougat has been torn back from sony. Anybody updated before and has a smooth experience? Would like to update too.
Downloading and starting flashtool does not give me the check updates tab, so is anything wrong or has the device to be prepared?
Does this way need root or unlocked bootloader or something else?
I hoped taking a virgin z5c and flashtool would fit to check for updates, find the device and firmwares according to, choose one of and flash?
Isnt it that easy? Any ideas when nougat from sony official will be provided once more?

There were a couple of serious bugs in the Nougat release, hence the draw back by Sony.
Maybe in a month or two, we'll see a fully working Nougat ROM for Z5C.

I'd suggest to wait too. Backup TA, Root and use Xposed instead. The only thing that is a bit more handy is split screen mode. I have audio bugs and thermal issues running nougat.
Hi. My orginal back camera with signature i9300 1.2 G has stuck lens and did't got focus,so i bought replacement camera to s3 but there is signature on it i9300VE. new camera sometimes working and sometimes not, now i'm on LOS 14.1 and it was warking for few weeklies but now with today update it don't working. I roll back to older weeklie build where camera work but now it not working.
anyone know where is the problem and what mean that signatures?

This year I was rooting/fashing various firmware's, recently I realize I lose camera performance. My camera performance was great before, but now everything is slightly out of focus, night shots are terrible etc.
I originally had a rooted kernal with DRM fix enable, and camera was still terrible. Today I flashed my DRM keys back, and now Im fully stock, but the camera hasnt recovered. I have done the various check *#*service*#* to check drmkey ingregrity and everything is good there. X-reality for mobile is enabled and working.
I used ivyroot to restore the drmkeys, though i original made the TA backup when using the dirtycow method on android 7.0
Please does anyone have any advice how to restore the camera functionality? I'm pretty sure my device is missing something.

go back to lollipop and lock the bootloader and start again.
ive used this method to resotre lost keys and imei on my test device.
flash to marshmallow or nougat after to triger a hardware firmware upgrade, then go back down to lollipop and then do what you need to do.
thats how I reset my devices for a new clean slate

...I do have to ask: did you mean Android 6.0? Dirtycow method only works on Marshmallow or lower. You did downgrade to MM before making your TA backup, right? TA backups made when the phone has Nougat on it are no good.
Also, have you taken a close look at the lens? Is it possible that the problem with the camera is physical, and not software-related?

Guys thanks for your replies. I finally compared my camera lens to another z5c and noticed a slight difference in the clarity of the lens. I checked on google, then used this toothpaste rubbing method on the lens - and it seems to have rubbed off an unknown coating that was coming off the lens, now the lens is clear and the photos are back!

I'm considering to get a Z5C, but I need VoLTE working. I know that VoLTE is working with the stock ROM, but how about Lineage OS or other custom ROMs? Does anyone have hands-on experience with that? Any suggestions much appreciated!

VoLTE is definitely not working on any LineageOS ROM, no matter what version you are using.
Ok, thanks for this info. Here's two more questions:
1. You wrote "LineageOS" - do you know of any other Custom ROM where VoLTE is working?
2. How about VoWLAN aka Wifi Calling: Will it work with custom ROMs?

1. No. My guessing is, that some IMS related stuff is missing. We (unofficial LineageOS devs) have tried it, but we failed. The normal telephony function has been compromised.

VoLTE works mostly only with T-mobile firmware.... but you have to flash this firmware... stock z5c dont support this.... if you flash it "with your country local operator firmware"..... will VoLTE work...100% T- mobile speciallity....
You can flash it by yourself, but be sure you dont have phone with unlocked bootloader.... if you make it after, you loose IMEI and mobile is 4 parts only....
Thanks for that info and the warning! Did you try it yourself with LOS? I have already unlocked the boot loader to ...well, install LOS. But afaik it is possible to lock it again using flashtool. Is that what you did?
I have had many Z5 compacts.... first was with unlocked bootloader.... I did know nothing before.... so I have tried flash it..... not finished, error.... started phone, No IMEI at all.... only Wifi worked No Simcard read, so I used it 4 parts - crashed display.... and for study how to dissassamble all. It´s nice when you know how to dissassamble hole Z5 compact and reassamble new one
Since then I buy only Z5 compacts with factory locked bootloader, OEM locked, from normal users....VIRGIN phones they are perfect 2 flash.... also i have had one piece, there was Lineage os before to anroid 7.1.1 returned, opened bootloader... and it has non functional cameras and flash.... no hardware problem, it was because of unlocked bootloader and this Lineage OS. Somebody bought it from me to use it as a bike navigation
I have relocked the bootloader via Flashtool... but cameras were still kaput 4 ever.
Installing Lineage OS or unlocking bootloader can (or relocking bootloader after - I dont know) destroy cameras and flash lighter..... on 7.1.1 android. It will not destroy cameras on android 9. Fx sony XZ1 compacts..... but you will still loose some functions of cameras + codecs and so on.
If you do so, there is no way to fix it back....
