I was using an old version of xposed for my 7840 before I upgraded to 5.0. But now that I have root I wanted to check and see if anyone has had any luck with a new version of xposed for 5.0 for the 7840?
Thanks.

from command prompt i used installxposedframework.bat - tab reboots
again command prompt installxposedinstaller.bat
i use com.ceco.lollipop.gravitybox_v516_bbcd60.apk and its working fine so far
dont forget to activate gravitybox in xposed and reboot
i love this tab even more now
with link2sd and gravity screen (if u have a flipcase) its just perfect

Use the same method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
Use T4 option.
"Changes: added Trigger T4 to support Dell Venue 8 7840 Lollipop 5.0.2 and possibly other previously unsupported devices."
Hey,
has anyone tried out whether the Xposed Installer from post #3 (the one shakalaca offers on asus.com forum) works for the 7480 with Android v5.1 installed?
Greetings

Meanwhile I tried it by myself: It doesn't work.
Do you try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/super-alpha-posted-permission-xposed-t3072979 ?
we can install xposed with Intel Android Devices Root / Temp Recovery Session
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
but it cause bootlooping on 5.1. so we need uninstall each bootlooped startup...
i tried many times but still can't find the appropriate one.
Dell's encryption cause it?
anyway, i also hope working exposed on 5.1 and someone will tell us which xposed we should install.
Unofficial Xposed for Android 5.1 - v74 / 20150911 / SDK22 didn't work on venue 8 784

thx info, i tried it, but it didn't work and bootloop again on my venue 8 7840.
The latest version definitely does not work (on 7840). Tried to find help in the xda xposed thread, but without luck. Finally, I've opened an issue report on GitHub. I'm still hoping for an answer by the developer.
Dell Venue 7840 / Android 5.1 / Rooted user here. I have tried the Official and romracer instances of XPosed.
In each case ,the system boots past the Dell logo, and then the Intel logo appears. It animates itself twice, but the system remains there indefinitely.
Out of curiosity, did any of you have Xposed working when you were on 5.0?
There is a wonderful project that installs a full Lollipop Xposed without involving recovery. x86 support coming soon. It would be worth a shot at that time.

Hi guys, I'm trying to install xposed but using the latest version doesn't seem to work. It successfully installs in recovery but then, once in Android, it says it's not yet compatible. I've seen lot of you have installed and managed to have it working. Could you please tell me which version you used? And how you installed it. Thanks

Thank you. Just a question. Will it be compatible with official systemless version once it's out?

systemless version is not under official development by rovo89
basically, another dev (topjohnwu) is developing it from official sources
maybe in the future rovo89 will provide some tests builds, but that is simply up to him
so short answer, it might be compatible, but no promises
however, current unofficial version is compatible (if you test), but some xposed modules are not fully developed under systemless root

rovo89 officially stated that the next version will be systemless
Regarding installer, have I to mandatory use material design version or I can stay with the official one? Is it compatible?
witch version of xposed are you downloading? you are supposed to download "xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip"

is a material version of the app compiled from official sources, and heck, a lot better and more visual appealing than the original app. also quite good support

Everything is linked, Xposed, SuperSU, magisk. It depends on the version you use, in my case I SuperSU 2.76 systemless, magisk, and 86.3 Xposed systemless by topjohnwu, and great time. I leave the link:

I'm not doubting of you guys, you're here to help me and I appreciate that. It's just that I'd like to remain as official as possible. How can an app with a different UI work where the original, official, does not?

Just try it
A friend of mine also ran into some issues like yours on the official app but as with your case he tried the material one and worked wonders
Also if you run the material version you are also as close to stock as possible since this is compiled from official sources but only a few visual changes made to the app

in xposed app, navigate to official tab, and click install/update button
choose ok and reboot to recovery (TWRP) and let it install and reboot
as soon as reboot is done, xposed should work

Latest Material Installer and Systemless v86.3 and v86.4.
Tried official v86 too
I can confirm that official framework works fine with material design installer. That's the only combination that's working on my G5. Haven't tried systemless version.
For those interested we can now run XPosed on XZ1
Me myself I have FW 47.1.A.12.34
Install the DRMFix according to post 53 in the [oreo]XZ1-drmfix-root-ricoff. This gives me recovery, root and DRMFix.
Then I downloaded and flashed installed XPosed and the installer from the [OFFICIAL] Xposed for Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat/Oreo thread
SDK for OREO 8.0 (which is the version in FW 47.1.A.12.34) is SDK26 and the architecture is Arm64.
I Flashed the XPosed zip, booted phone and installed the XposedInstaller apk. The app then told me the framework was installed but not loaded, so I istalled it once more from the app (direct install, not using recovery). After reboot did everything work as a charm
I used to use Xposed but I can't think of any modules that are worth bothering with the install these days. Can you recommend anything worthwhile bro?

I actually only use a package for greenify and a "Eventlock" module to get my calendar data on the lockscreen
Yeah, that's the problem for me. Xposed used to be about to do so much that Android couldn't but the OS has come so far now that I don't feel the need for it anymore.

Yeeea.....bur I just had to check it out when I saw there is a beta version of Xposed for Oreo.
Just because I'm curious
I know, I feel the same way but just didn't see the benefit of it at the time. I used to love Xposed. I actually forgoe certain upgrades because I would lose Xposed in the past. Those days are gone now though.
For all who are intrested:
Gravity Box for Oreo is now released!
I think the best XPosed Modul on the Repository!
