Backing up data from locked (pin code) Xperia X - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Long story short, have important data on my phone but I just cant remember my pincode. Is there a way to recover the data? (media files and inapp messages. Not contacts)
Can you remove the pincode with your google account details? You used to be able to.

Make Google contacts into phone contacts?

After trying to root and install a custom rom (which failed miserably) my Hero has now returned to its natural 'out of the box' state.
Luckily all my contacts were backed up on google so my phone book is now full again with my google contacts. However, I need these to be 'phone contacts' as otherwise the phonebook doesn't sync with my in-car Parrot hands free system.
Is there a quick way I can turn the google contacts into phone contacts? I think I found how to put them onto my sim but I need them on as phone contacts!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Google & Phone contacts

I have had my U20i for about 2 months now, recently i updated my phone with the last firmware and i chose not to keep the data during the updates (i want the phone to be in factory original state). I never turned off the google auto sync for mail and contacts, the one i turned off is calendar sync, so i wasn't worried about my contacts dissapeared after update.
After updating my phone i turn the sync on and get my contacts back from google, but then i realized that not all of my contacts were there. I logged in to http://www.google.com/contacts from my computer and found that there are only 194 contacts (all of my contacts are about 300)
When we save a new number and add it to contacts, we will get 2 options (save it to phone contacts or google). If im not wrong, if we choose to save it to phone contacts, it will automaticly sync with google contacts and add a new entry on google side too right?but why it is not?even after the update i add several new number to my phone contacts and it's still doesn't update my google contacts account.
Hey, I fear for your contacts. There are indeed two places to store your contacts. One for the 'telephone book on the phone', and one for the 'google phone book'. If you choose the telephone book on the phone, the contacts will save only on the phone. If you choose the google phone book, the contacts will save on the phone and will sync with google.

Well it is my mistake then..
i thougth it will automaticly sync with google when i choose to save it on phone
the only good side of having your contacts save to phone only is: you get to do a backup without connecting to the internet (i.e., with the backup & restore, you can backup up your contacts to your sd).
if you do a backup to sd, contacts in google, don't get backed up, so you will have to connect to internet to do a sync to restore them.
the real benefit of sync to google is, just in case you lost your phone, you can get your contacts back from google.

I see, thats why I can't restore my phone contacts, I usually select my google account rather than the phone, though its not an issue anymore since i have unlimited mobile internet account. it was my problem back then, when I was playing with my phone, and I brick it accidentally. I have to connect to m internet, and my bill will be ...yeah.. high.

[Q] Factory reset

Hi all,
From mistake i did a factory reset. After that i lost all my contacts(that wasn't saved on sim), all messages. After sync withh google surprise no calendar events. All applications were installed after sync with google. can i do something to recover my messages and my numbers.
Thank's in advance!
Recuva might be able to recover your data if it was in place you can normally see when you hook your phone up to your PC (I.E not in system folders). But don't get your hopes up, it's a long shot. If you have a Nandroid backup, you can probably use something like AppExtractor to pull your sms/call logs & so on, but if you don't have a backup then Recuva is your only rough chance.
if you use google account your contacts and calendar should have come back, unless you choose not to add new contacts to google.

[Q] Tranferring personal data Samsung base to AOKP/AOSP and vice versa

Hey guys,
Basically exactly what the title says. How do I transfer my person data (i.e. text messages, contacts, memos) from a Samsung stock ROM (4.04) to a AOKP/SP ROM? When I've tried with titanium backup it hasn't worked because the apps aren't the same and so don't have compatible data storage systems.
I understand that my contacts can be sychned to my Google account and transferred like that but even so I would still like a more concret way and a way to transfer my other data (texts, call log etc).
Thanks.

For my text messages and call logs I use SMS Backup & Restore and Call Logs Backup & Restore. Both work and are available on the play store for free and I have never had any problems with them. For the contacts I just sync it to my google account, I have found that this is the easiest way to keep track of them.
If you want to use titanium backup to backup your texts and call log, use the option backup data to XML format.

how you lost it?
did you sync your contact to gmail?
How did you lose them? Did you root? Did you factory reset? If they were saved on the phone and you lost data then they're gone I'm afraid. If they were Google contacts, just re-sync your Google account to the phone.

is easy from your google account, there are stored and can be retrieved easily.
You can recover your contacts via your Google Account or by your Sim Card. This requires you to have saved your contacts on your Sim.
Did you change what contacts are displayed and actually didn't lose anything at all?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app

I also met the same problem, I need to restore my deleted contacts from my HTC one, any suggestion?
Some people may accidentally delete their contacts from Android. How to get those important contacts back? When you deleted contacts from Android, they were not really gone, but only marked as useless on your phone and could be overwritten by new data. Therefore, you'd better stop using your phone after losing your contacts, to ensure a higher rate of recovery. Format the SD card carelessly, accidentally delete some perfect family photos, pictures suddenly become inaccessible.... Things like this happen occasionally. So many people wondered is there a way to restore deleted or lost photos from an Android phone? Actualy, If the card is not physically damaged, you can get them back without any quality loss.
