Just downloaded this and installed. Anyone have a list of the patches/fixes? I am hoping they fixed bluetooth.

Pretty sure it was just a security patch

What's wrong with bluetooth? And for the love of hell LG How many "Security updates" are you going to give us before you upgrade us to 7.0

I may be wrong but security patches come from Google. Just security no features enhancements.

Security from google to LG for integration in existing image to Verizon for approval to us. So yes LG drives the updates

What's after 4.1.83

So, while the bootloader isn't unlocked, I'm fairly impressed with the frequency of updates in just the first 3 months with the Atrix. Without violating any NDA with Moto, anybody have speculations or know of "rumors" as to what's next and when to expect it?
Sideloading should be here with next update, although we have it anyway without AT&T enabling it for us.

Do you have a source on that? Our device was NOT among those listed in the official announcement from AT&T.
As for future updates, there's currently nothing inside or outside of an NDA to report. 1080p recording that was promised is still in the works, but that's really about all we know right now.

Android central says that the Atrix will get a future maintenance update (that sucks) that enables it.

Previously, installation of non-market apps required hacking of the phone, or a tool like the Sideload Wonder Machine. With this silent update -- note that you won't actually have to do anything; AT&T will push it to your phone automatically -- you'll now be able to install applications directly from developers, websites and, yes, finally, the Amazon Appstore.
And as for the Motorola Atrix 4G? AT&T says it's working with Moto, which will provide the update for non-market apps in a future maintenance release.

From what AT&T says all devices will be able to install from unknown sources soon. Although I didn't see anything specific to the Atrix the announcement leaves the assumption that everyone with AT&T will get it changed.

Motorola also said (back when they announced the Atrix) that the Atrix 4G will get the new MOTOBLUR (like the one Droid Bionic & the GingerBread update for Droid X & Droid 2 have) later , since it wasn't finished at the time
plus , there is the 1080HD update
& something too fix the Fingerprint scanner miss
I guess we 'll have to wait & see
& of course there's GingerBread , or Ice-Cream sandwich , but I think they gonna take a while
especially since this the Atrix we are talking about here , which is not the typical good ol' Android phone , not with the "Web-Top" feature

Confusing Android Security patch level date

Hi Everyone
I use a Xiaomi phone, I just flashed beta version of their new UI rom (OEM build).
I noticed that " android security patch level " was dated as august 1st even when the beta rom was released in july 30th.
Is it normal to have a security patch level be dated later, than its actual release date in beta rom.
I believe google makes these patches and they hadn't released it on their nexus phones yet.
If something i said is wrong , pls correct me and pls direct me to a site/article that actually shows how security patch level updates really work.
P.S yes i asked in their forum and couldn't get a proper response
Hello and thank you for posting in the Q&A section,
it can't be. Google hasn't released the new security updated yet.
Check with Stagefright Detector, if your device is vulnerable.

This article really cleared my doubts,
http://www.androidcentral.com/monthly-security-patches-are-most-important-updates-youll-never-get
from the article
Google's partners who make the phones we love get the changes a month in advance so they can also be ready to update as soon as they can. Some, like BlackBerry, are able to push these updates right away, with a short delay for carrier branded (remember this, it's important) models. Others take a little longer, and some phones will never, ever get any security patches.

11I New update for Vodafone italian H870

Hi guys, as reported on the vodafone italian forum this week has been released a new update for G6, now is available trough LGBridge (didn't check trough OTA).
Don't which patch are, or if there are any difference because "Bridge is a Britch" (Sorry), and it'll take a while to download the entire KDZ of 3.04GB.
I'll keep you updated about possible changes, cheers
- Edit -
Just flashed the KDZ, January patch! Incredible!

That's not so important for two major reasons:
- 821 is not vulnerable to Meltdown
- Spectre is a vulnerability that cannot be soft-patched, patches are only to block some applications of Spectre.
Anyway they're still better than December patch xD
in any case g6 no brand ita no update of the patches at the moment, nor through ota or lg bridge,in any case if I have the chance to sell the g6 and I'll take another.
New update V11i here. H870 buy in Orange. Only avalible in lg bridge. No OTA yet.
No branded phone
Same here, Italian G6 no brand just updated to 11i via Bridge...

We've been without updates for several months and received November patch at the end of December, this is why it's surprising to see January patch.

Yeah... But you see that is only ninja smoke... This is did to forget for a while about android 8.0 update... And also my humble opinion is that this security update don't matter. And keep in mind if someone with the right know how wants to find an exploit to access your phones it will be done...
I am sorry for speaking my mind, I usually read without saying anything, but this time I did not understand what was the hole fuzz... A new thread and some of the guys asking the developer about updates with the new patch

It's not ninja smoke, it's what LG should have done since ever like other OEMs, realising updates frequently. No one forgot the late 8.0 update, i am (and probably all) angry with LG for late Major updates without any right excuse (like introducing treble, for example).
Also security patch are important when there are RELEASED vulnerability that allows anyone with the right abilities to steal your data, your money or whatever else, like the Krack vulnerability, which is KNOWN since november and patched in december and we received the update now.
I see much negativity coming from you, you're right, if an hacker wants your data will probably get those anyway, but the probability is low like many other scenarios.
To sum up:
- I'm happy to have received a new update
- I'm happy that my device is more secure
- I'm UNhappy that LG won't update the G6 soon to Oreo.
That's all for me =)

My opinion is that most of us, here we've got our phones rooted and we also have a bunch of apps that can be manipulateed to gain access in our phones and in my opinion, for me is not so much of LG work but for the work of developers here that patch the systems and kernels and apps that we use daily. My current negativity through all the talk here, about this patch is regarding the pressure on developers to upgrade their work. And I know that none ask for the exact date of upgrade, but some people pointed out the release of the patch and wanted a new upgrade... So this seems to me a bit rude... I don't want to fight with anyone... But I needed to express my thoughts. Have a good one guys and enjoy a great device

Devs here on XDA do this because they like doing it, that's why it's not correct to press them for updates. But OEMs devs are different, they're paid for what they're doing like my boss pay me for the work i do, and he expect me to do my best. Here it's LG fault (concerning the both lack of updates between July and December and Oreo) because other OEMs have already updated their flagship devices, and some also their medium range devices.
I never press devs of apps, mods, kernel or ROMs because they make me a favor. I press OEMs' devs because they're paid for what they're doing, and because all other OEM's devs are doing a better job.
Hope i've been more clear, there is no reason to fight, we're discussing our own ideas, i'm not angry with you only because you expressed your thoughts
Why is this maj only available via computer? Will she be available later in Ota?
I do not have a computer

General Would you be signing up for android 12L beta? Why?

Given android 12L beta 1 is due in few days would you be giving it a try on your P6? What would be your main reason for this?
For me:
Dynamic color on boot animation
May be better dynamic color on UI.
Just like to stay on top of updates
Didn't even know 12L was a thing. But sadly yes I probably will be trying it lol
No because I need a stable device since it's my primary
It's what we do with our Pixels...
Doubtful 12L is coming to pixel phones. It's for devices with larger screens.

It will be available for Pixels. How much good it will do Pixel phones, however, is another matter.
Android 12L is also coming to phones, Beta Program for Pixel coming later
Google announced Android 12L as a "feature drop" for foldables, tablets, and Chrome OS, but it will also be coming to phones and Pixel...
9to5google.com
If the Pixels aren't included, the only reference device will be the Lenvo P12 Pro.
Yes. I'm committing to it, as I'm fortunate enough to be one of the chosen ones running with Google's December "fix-all & then some"
Update!
I'd be willing to shake 'em & roll again (AND, there's a couple tricks I've read about that I'd like to see up close)!

Question is the may update worth bothering?

there was a patch out in January for dirtypipes but as of April dirty pipes was not fixed on the Pixel 6
did it get fixed in the may update because i see no other reason to update and risk new bugs.
Improvements for haptic feedback
Fixes for display & launcher
Latest security fixes
the fixes listed are not important
i think it might be time to jump to protonaosp or some other custom rom..

the latest report is that the kernel has not been updated so the pixel 6 still has dirty pipes in april. so google has failed to do the testing and research for its customers. for a flagship device that was advertised for its security its yet another fail

If you're talking to me then the answer is nothing since I don't care. I installed it already but I'm not squeamish about updating the monthly security updates so I flashed back to stock, locked bootloader. If you are leary then it is probably a good idea for you to try it out. I'm basically curious what you think since I already know what I think. Since the rom is basically stock with no kernel changes you'll be waiting for a while to get the dirty pipe fix unless you pay and even then you'll wait. They have a pretty active Telegram channel so you should check it out.

afaik proton has the fix for dirty pipes for over a month now.
and no i will not have to pay the latest proton is free and all older versions are free.
you pay for bleeding edge, which i have no use for. google is happy to have its users be the testers for the pixel 6 as we all remember from the horrible bugs in November and December.
