I have los14.1 now but want to go to either 5.1.1 or 6.0.1 . I found an aosp 5.1.1 rom for the device though it had many issues. So anyone using it, can you please tell me if it's stable and what's working and not working as of now. And which ROM would be better? Stock 6.0.1 or aosp 5.1.1.
Also performance wise which one better? Stock 5.0.2|5.1.1|6.0.1??

Hi, I ve just downgraded to 5.1.1 coming from Los 14.1
Have been on 6.0 too and went back to experiment a OTA update (from LL to MM)
Have to say that 5.1.1 is fast and smooth, like no other. both 6 and 7.1.2 custom ROMs.
I will stay there since I don't find a new reason to upgrade...

Everything works as expected in 5.1.1 and that is very relaxing: wifi, bluetooth, motodisplay and notification, no forcecloses or crash, no random reboot.
Stock softwares, with last updates from PlayStore, are also very smooth.

Did you flashed all the system files?
Lockin the bootloader isn't necessary or rilevant in my opinion.
Last question.. which os where you at when firstly rooted the phone? Sometimes Android is hard to downgrade..

To flash the latest version of CM, be sureto have updated your phone officially to Stock Marshmallow. If not latest CM will not flash. You an error.
I'm guessing your phone is Indian version? Anyways go to the huawei website of your country. Download the marshmallow software file there and upgrade it through force update like i recommended here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/gr5-help-t3443573
I think you should go into your current custom recovery first and wipe data/factory reset. So u don't get bootloop as a result of CM files being on board currently.
The firmware in the link above is not for your country/device but for Egypt KII-L21CUST185.
So get the correct file for your device for your country's huawei website as mentioned above.
After flashing successfully, you have to flash custom recovery, again. Remember the whole 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' process then flash SuperSU in custom recovery to root? Yeah do that.
Now you can flash latest CM build again. Cheers!
Note: If your country doesn't have marshmallow (6.0.1) available, don't bother with the process as latest CM build will not flash.

Hey guys, it's been awhile again, and I've yet to flash as accordingly taught. So is there already any easier method than flashing stock MM based EMUI and flashing again to custom?
hi everyone, i have researched on this for hours and idk what to do.. I am using KIW-AL10 chinese version. It recently got updates to MM with EMUI 4.0.1. i installed TWRP. made the full backup wiped all the partitions and installed cm 13 but it is stuck in bootloop. It reaches the CM bootup screen but reboots. i reflashed my stock MM and tried again but no use. The stock firmware is B430. I even tried flashing the boot.img again but no use. Please guide me in how can i install custom roms. I tried cm 14.1 also but same results. Thanks for the help

In case somebody in this thread is interested in a solution, I managed to install LineageOS on a Honor 5X KIW-AL10 with the latest stock firmware KIW-AL10C92B437.
Once you have unlocked the bootloader, flash TWRP with adb, you need to flash Lineage OS & a zip that will fix the loop (see: https://jira.lineageos.org/browse/BUGBASH-222?attachmentViewMode=list). I used Fix_boot(422+).zip. VoilĂ !

Do you mean we can't downgrade the ROMs, 7.1 to 5.0 directly, so do we have to go 7.1 to 7.0 to 6.0 and then 5.1 and then 5.0?
No we can downgrade directly. But be careful, we shouldn't go to 4.4.2 we can go to lollipop or 4.4.4. I have tried it myself and went back to lineage too
Hi guys,
I really need help here. I have a SGP312, bootloader unlocked, and I'd like to get back to stock rom 10.7.A.0.228 because I need MHL-Output and this doesn't work with any custom rom I tried. Here's the problem: I can get into fastboot and into flash mode but nothing I try is working. If I use flashtool the and flash latest XperiFirm ROM for SGP312 everything is running fine until I try to boot. The Sony logo appears and then nothing happens. Once I waited for over 30 minutes. Screen stays on but it's not booting.
So back to flashing recovery...in recovery I can flash ALL custom roms I want. LineageOS, crDroid, CyanogenMod, no problem. If I try to flash this: "https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-tablet-z/general/stock-10-7-0-228-vmo-t3303365" I have same problem as described before. Sony logo pops up, screen stays on, no boot.
Also I tried different recoveries TWRP, CWM, Phil's and so on and nothing seems to work. With wipes without wipes does not matter...
And I tried Sony flash tool Emma (with rom for SGP11) and I tried with TWRP to flash a backup of 10.7.A.0.228 I made...both with same results
Can anyone help? I just want to go back to Android 5.1.1 (root preferred but if no root it's also okay) or I need a custom rom with working MHL. Does anyone have the one clue that can get me back to stock rom?
Thanks guys!

It's a known issue, especially after coming from android 7.x.x ROMs.
You need to flash ANY stock ROM except 5.1.1. 4.1.2 or 4.4.2 will do. After the ROM boots ok, you can flash 5.1.1 directly via Flashtool 0.9.18.6.
It will work.

I'm sorry but I can't find any suitable firmware for SGP312.
I'm currently on Android 5.1.1 (Build 10.7.A.0.228, Germany/EU if that matters), and I'd really like to try to upgrade it to LineageOS 15.1 for all kinds of reasons; but in case that I botch anything (or the apps I really need don't work, like the screen time manager, as it's the kids' device), I really want to have a working firmware at hand to at least recover it back.
Kinda-noob question: do I really need a flashable firmware or would a full nandroid backup work for a rollback once I have TWRP installed?

For a kids device, i would recommend to stay on sony stock 5.1.1, because games run faster there, also it is already tried and tested with easy root installation and debloating.
To revert back from custom ROM (LOS or RR) to stock you'll need to flash firstly any firmware (like 4.4.4) except the latest 5.1.1, then boot it, and afterwards update to 5.1.1 if you want so. If you revert straight to the latest 5.1.1 stock, you'll get permanent bootloop or black screen issue.
So you need to have at least two stock firmware packages.
As for nandroid backup, you can't revert from custom rom to stock via restoring nandroid backup.
Fresh install is recommended.
So after checking the Xiaomi firmware site (didn't work, flashing the weekly firmware just appeared as stable) I haven't been able to get the developer firmware.
