Moto Z Stock Android and other questions - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hello, I buy Moto Z from second hand one month ago. This Moto work on Lineage OS, i want change it to stock android for this phone cause any roms drain battery so fast. i have few questions about it:
1. I read that the best option is the BR version but nowhere in this post can I find the BR version. Could someone send a link to this version?
2. I do not have an original Motorola cable. I read that one is needed to flash in Fastboot. is it true?
3. The logo when you start my phone is not the factory logo for this phone, how can I change it?
Thanks for any replies, regards.

1. Here's the version I used https://redirect.viglink.com/?forma...mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware...fficial/RETUS/
2. The original cable (at least mine) is part of the charger USB C on one end then US 110V on the other with no USB connection to connect it to a PC. I used a cable I bought off amazon
3. Do you mean the warning your phone can't be trusted because you unlocked the bootloader or the animation? If the animation that will change based on what ROM your running.

It's ROM to install with fastboot, rights?
Your cable is certified or any cable USB C was good?
I had a thought for the logo as it would launch the phone. I do not mean the logo of the starting android.

Anyone on stock that has issues with sound quality from the speaker when on very low volume? Music or video from any app.
The sound is kind of muted if below a certain level. Like if a noice gate filters it out.

Jump now
I've had one for a week now, I can really recommend this phone for anyone who needs a rugged phone with up-to-date features. I even wash it daily without turning it off
Short pros and cons:
+good display with adequate brightness
+very loud speaker
+fm radio works without headset +(walkietalkie antenna required)
+HUGE battery, with my other phones I'm out of battery before evening, this lasts -over two days
+good camera
+very nice keypad
+doesn't weigh as much as it looks (300grams)
+dual standby sim works great
+hasn't crashed yet (haven't even turned it off for a week)
-needs a big pocket
-android keys get accidentally touched when using touchscreen
-usb port behind cumbersome door
-earpiece is very selective, needs to be placed accurately, otherwise good
-no focus action on camera button (hard to take pics in tight and dark places)
That's my 5cents
/VM
Well I made the jump and I am loving the runbo x3.

Greetings and Happy New Year 2014!
I have Jiayu G4A (thick battery) with stock rom G4GH-20130816-151656. I discovered something interesting. When phone power is off, and I press and hold VOLUME DOWN button and connect USB cable to phone and to computer, the phone boots into recovery mode. The screen shows Chinese language menu. Can you please tell me what that means in English? Please click on photos to see a larger copy. Xie Xie.
Another thing: If press and hold VOLUME UP (not DOWN this time) and connect USB cable, then the phone boots into my custom recovery that I flashed (English).
Why are there two recovery modes, or two boot modes when connecting a USB cable?

The one you see with chinese characters is not recovery mode. It is factory mode.

As far as I can remember, you can test phone hardware in factory mode. You can also do that with third party apps, you don't have to put extra effort in translating it. I once had an mtk phone with english factory mode.

Starting a cracked phone ??

Hi all ! Mods please move the thread if its wrong place, excuse my inexperience
I have an old phone made in 2014 , LG-P705 . Recently i have realized i had much much important files in it .
Whatever.. The problem is the phone's screen was cracked completely tried to fix it , bought a screen from chinese market then i gave up on it in 2014.
So we have a phone that LCD screen won't work at all. But the motherboard has not taken any damage. I charged the phone and it is alive. It vibrates when i turn it on and off .
i want to boot this phone and take the important files out. Is there any possible ways that we could start it guys ?
I have some ideas but not enough knowledge nor i am geeky about this stuffs. I think we could do a kind of a "mirror" between the Computer and the phone so that we will be able to see the files from the computer. Will it work ? Will we be able to see the files in it from the pc without using the screen ?
I am open to ideas. I need some geeks around here
.

Do you have a custom recovery installed on it? There's a chance it has mtp enabled. If you're in luck, starting it in recovery mode will have your phone boot up in an USB connectable mode. So if you can hold volume down + power, give that a try, wait a minute for it to boot in recovery and try connecting it with a USB cable. It's worth a shot.

Yes i probably do have custom recovery installed . I poked up with it at the time it probably has custom Rom and that android interface which lets you to get into the othercustom roms. So yeah.
I am currently using an iPhone ever since, So the current android charger is partly broken i must hold it upwards until it function properly. I will update it when i get a new charger . I may order some touchscreen plus LCD if i could find .

An iWhat? Never heard of it. Must be some fake knockoff [emoji16]
Oh and if it doesn't have mtp enabled but you can access ADB (check with 'adb devices'), this command should work:
Code:
adb shell svc usb setFunctions mtp
If not, you could probably pull files manually. I'm not sure if it works on folders but it would look like something like this:
Code:
adb pull /storage/emulated/0/DCIM
Path could be a lot of things like /sdcard, /mnt/0, /mnt/sdcard, etc.

my phone doesn't work,

I was trying to flash an MIUI ROM to my phone, so
here is what I have done:
- unlocker the bootloader.
- install the recovery.
- flashed the ROM.
- reboot the device.
after I finished all the above steps my phone have stuck in the boot loop, so the obvious solution for me was to reinstall the stock ROM so I have done that by:
- download MIFlash.
- download stock ROM.
- unzip the ROM.
- then I flashed the ROM.
the flashing process took longer than usual, so i have unplugged my phone and tried to reboot it, then the phone doesn't work, even the screen not working, the only sign that the phone is working is when I plug it in my computer I see MIFlash recognize it as COM20 port.
anyone helps me please.

Please tell us which versions you have tried to install. It may be that you will try to install Android 10 and you were already with Android 11.
In that case it may be that the phone has been bricked. You can check how to reset it in this other post https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/this-way-i-unbrick-mi-a3-no-qfil.4231465/

more detail....
what version of android has your phone? the root process was succesfully? what version of miui try to install? stock miui? port miui? miui for android 10? android 11? modding mi a3 require a lot of attention.... and install miui is not a good idea.... if fastboot mode work, try to install stock firmware via fastboot ... mi a3 have android one, is different from miui. probably you used a guide for install custom rom on miui device
Greeting,
I ask good people for help, more than a month trying to revive my a3.
It’s a child’s cell phone so I don’t know if update 11 worked so it blocked or the display went off disinfectants.
I made a repair according to "We A3 UNBRİCK Solution After Update Android 11! For FREE exclusive 2021!
, everything went without a hitch.
The current situation is that the phone works if the call if I put the sim card, it normally charges, the display is black and there is no response on the display, if there is one I can't see.
If someone has a suggestion of what to do, how can I know which Android is on it now, how can I know if maybe the display itself is broken.
Thank You in advance.
I don't saw the video but the solution is: download and install miflash tool. Connect your phone to pc in edl mode with a normal usb cable Flash a11 fastboot stock firmware. That's all

TWRP on Moto G7 XT1965-T Plus Issue | Dying at Boot Image

The device is a Moto G7 Plus with a freshly unlocked bootloader and running on off of a "fastboot boot twrp-3.6.0_9-0-lake.img" which appears to be the latest from twrp.me
See screenshot image and recovery.log attached
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've not been able to come up with a solution.
Thank you!

Hey Teo, oddly enough, TWRP flashed successfully despite the error message. I guess the error message has something to do with A/B slot conditions which I'm still not totally understanding. I know that the Moto G7 (not the plus) requires some copy-partitions-AB.zip according to an install guide that I'm using. Again, is good to go, unfortunately I hard bricked after flashing Lineage 18. I was told that I needed latest OTA for the device which I thought was already on there. I connected the device to wifi and tried to run update just before flashing TWRP but updates failed to download. So for now, I'm just another "Brick in the Wall" lol. Noob level 5000, sucks.
The G7 plus also requires a copy-partiosions-AB.zip to prevent bricking from different software on the 2 slots. It can be found somewhere here on the forum. Also there is a way to flash the latest OTA manually via fastboot. A guide can also be found somewhere here on the forum. You can download the OTA images from lolinet (https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/lake/official/RETEU/).

Thanks again Teo. Question : is there a way to unbrick the device if it won't even power up? I've tried every key combo that I could find but can't even get a charging status when I connect it to power. I think it's now certifiably hard bricked. Dunno

factory cable / charger only, no other cables. I sent the device to a dev for kicks, see if he can un-brick it. Not holding my breath though. Stat tuned . .
