When I charge my phone it gets very hot. The temperature gets up to 110. I left it charging overnight and this morning the phone was still hot at 110.8 degrees. It never stopped charging. When i unplugged it the battery indicator was full.
Try an app called SystemPanel Lite. and see if your processor us being maxed out.
Sounds like something is running the processor pretty hard and consuming a lot of power, which is causing the heat.
ok so i noticed ever since i got it my s3 gets very hot with little usage...its only very hot usually at the bottom by the homebutton and when the phone is charging the whole phone gets hot...the battery has been upwards of 120.9 degrees while charging...i'm using the factory charger and phone is stock...nothing really added on, not even many apps...ive even tried a non factory battery with the same results...does those temps sound normal? i'm wondering if it's the phone....
one question....Wi-Fi on during sleep switch to "Never"?
nope...it's set on only when plugged in...should i keep it on never?

Here you can see deep sleep works most the time in Wakelock Detector App

I noticed, that battery right charges when phone is power off. I deleted most apps, tryed to analize cpu use by wakelock detector, but nothing can see there. Maybe someone knows good app to analize the battery leaks.
Installed Battery Stats Pro, it signalised me a battery draining by system and multimedia, so im more confused...

Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for answers.
Maybe its scanning for new media all the time, it doesn't seem like battery or cable but there cheap enough to try.
Badass battery monitor I used.

Some days it starts to charge normally, some days it fully stops charge, so i'm confused what is it Maybe buy new battery is the simple way to know, is it battery or no, thanks anyway.
Update. Today morning my phone didn't wake me up. It didn't boot at all, whole day i cant boot it, just blinking battery led on power on, like battery is off(battery was around 80% past evening, phone was whole night on charging).Voltmeter showed me 3.6V(actually it is around 0%). Whole day i charged it in the car, at work, but no boot, just blinking led and then power off. Evening after work i came home, and what do you think? It booted, lol... I think it is battery, or power chip guilty. I will buy new battery, and then post here the result. If someone had symptoms like that, post answers please. Thanks!
Have you tried chargeing battery with an external charger?

Yes, and it indicates battery charge with led like it real charges. If it doesn't charge, LED on external battery doesn't light. So i can know charges it, or not If it not charges, i restart devise until it will charge, and after 2-3 restarts it charges.
1 thing i noticed, when it stopped charge finally, i did discharge it, until battery is 0 charge(started device some time after discharge, so i can know it is 0), then charged for 100% and it worked fine 1 day, but then again began to behave strangely.
I think fault is the battery, and i am waiting for new battery, when i receive it, i will write, is it fault of bad battery or not. Sorry for my bad english, and thanks.
If someone had something like this, please tell me, "who" is guilty, battery or phone.
upd. Finally problem gone after replacing the battery, I'm glad the problem was in the battery controller, not the phone controller.

I am aware of the fast charging..
Sometimes i can't hold the phone when it's charging...

Yes, it is normal. Even if you turn Fast Charge Off it will still get hot. Also If you have Samsung Wireless charger it will become even hotter. So all in all NORMAL
I've started the habit of waiting for the battery in my phone to reach about 5 to 10 % before switching out the battery for the one I've charged in the cradle. This is all fine and dandy, but recently I've been unable to charge my phone just by plugging it in normally. I'll get notifications in the the battery indicator that it's charging and the quick charging notification in the drop down. However in the battery status menu in the settings it will say not charging. I'm using the stock quick charger and the stock cable to charge both my phone and the battery, though it only works in the cradle charger. I don't know if switching the battery relatively frequently is causing this problem and I just need to discharge this battery fully while in the phone as perhaps the phone is indicating a higher battery percentage then what is true. Either way I was wondering if anyone has either delt with this issue or has any ideas on what I should try to remedy this issue.
Thanks in advance.
