Hmmmm. Since this is only my third day with the phone and I'm not quite ready to root it, I guess I'll have to turn off the notification or system sounds (which??) at night. A VERY bad concept on Samsung's part. Wonder what the thought process was?
BTW, if I have the screen set to shut off in 10 minutes, will it if the charger is plugged in when the battery charge indicator fires? Is there a setting I'll need to change?
ANSWERED ELSEWHERE. It DOES turn off!
Thanks.

I specifically lobbied Samsung last year for the battery charge notifications to be added .I dont want my phone connected to a power source when its no longer required .

Since I only plug mine in when I go to bed, maybe a CHOICE would be the answer???? I think we're past the "one size fits all" era for cell phones.
Can I ask why you "dont want [your] phone connected to a power source when its no longer required"?

So you are the culprit who has made every Samsung SGS2 owner's night hell!!!??
Seroiusly, they should have given us a choice. I think 95% of owners do NOT want this notification. Most people charge their mobiles at night
Choice yes good idea .
I dislike any turned on electrical apparatus left overnight .
Why well ask your local fire officer .

Well not everyone charges their phone at night, including me. Besides, IMO it's a good thing to have, it just stays there for 2 seconds, it is kinda pitch but not that much to wake someone from sleep. If there is something embarrassing and not needed, that would be the Low Battery warning sound which keeps coming in some intervals, I always turn that damn thing OFF.
Regards.
I leave my phone in a dock at work which also charges via usb. As soon as the phone is charged it beeps load enough for every one to hear. If I take it off the dock to talk on the phone, after I put it back on it beeps again. I leave it on the dock to use myphoneexplorer for messaging through the day from my pc. A choice to disable the beep would be welcome.

I always plug my phone in at night. In my case I set the phone to silent (therefore the battery charge does not make a sound).
To make sure I get important calls during the night (if needed), I use Llama to activate "Noisy Contacts" which will use any volume level (user set) for incoming calls, but all other volume can be set to 0%.
Hope this helps!

Hi
I am in the same camp as you jje, I am on a custom rom and most of them have taken it out it seems like a lot of people have a problem with a 1/2 second beep
but they wont put the phone on silent because if they get a poke on FB or a sms thats ok but a low beep kills them.
If you know a way to get the battery back in let me know..Thanks

Sorry for asking, but do you go out your house, crossing a street, driving a car...?
Hello!
Guys it has been a week since I bought my ACE.
Since then it has itself turned off automatically twice.
Once, I was playing Grave Defense HD (Free version), I left it on for 15 minutes, came back, and the phone was off, and didn't turn it until I reinserted the battery.
I thought that may be it was because of too much load on the processor or the memory or battery.
Second time the phone was just lying with nothing ON, I picked up to use, but it was OFF again.
I haven't installed any update so far, so whatever the problem is, it has been there on its own.
Please help.
Also I have noticed that the battery has serious issues, like it wipes out in an entire day if used normally also if i is almost out of juice and you plug it in for just 5 minutes and then plug out, it displays that the battery is almost Full. I mentioning this battery problem to make sure that it is not just me, otherwise this might be the reason for automatic turn-offs.
Thanks.

A little hint, disable wifi sleep policy on setting. But if u not even using wifi when that "turn off automatically" happen, now thats another story

Do it like this n should work. Plug the charger into the prime while its on. Then you power down the device like that should stay off.
Plug in the power first and then turn it off.

could the outlet be pushing so many volts or something it just turns on i highly doubt this but who knows maybe its the outlet or something

same thing happens on my DX running Miui. I think its the firmware. For example, some of you let ur Atp charge 8 hours before booting up, mine didn't even let me have that option, it just turned on

Really? What would possibly be the logic?
I can shut off & charge my phone, camera, laptops, GPS watch, BT speakers, BT earpiece, 2 way radios, etc & not have them power on if they are off when I plug them in.
So... whats the logic here on the only device I have ever seen or used that does this?
I say its a bug and if not a poor design.

"Answering" my question with a question is not an answer.
So again, if a product is off & you decide to charge it for whatever reason you decide - and that reason is irrelevant really - what is the "logic" behind having it power on? What purpose does that serve. Just because you want to charge it does not mean you want it on any more than turning it on means you want it to auto play music. Doing 1 does not logically imply you want the other so what is their logic in deciding for you it will power up?

Can't I be curious? I did it again, oops.
Maybe the Prime cannot differentiate between being plugged in to a computer to be accessed or being plugged into a wall outlet for charging. So the compromise is that it always turns on.

That to me is.... a bug
As said before, it was also the case on the transformer TF101 and apparently on other devices as well... No idea what the logic behind it is (and I'm one of the guys turning his devices off when sleeping so it's a minor annoyance for me too, extremely minor though).
Over the last few days I've noticed my drops rather quickly once it reaches around 80% and it's usually just in my pocket doing nothing. Anyone else having this issue?
The voice calls I've made today totaled about 8 minutes. Other than that it's been some light surfing and a few texts.

I thought of that but my screen on time is 43 minutes which seems about right.
I am ASTOUNDED by the battery life. And laughing at all the people who held off from buying cuz theywere worried about not being able to swap batteries. On my first charge, I got 1D 4hrs something and at 20% St with 7+hrs screen on. Amazed
Granted, twice I plugged into the PC for just a couple minutes to transfer files and adb test. I am officially blown away.
And I know, it's not exactly relevant to topic of thread .

Wouldn't it show up on the power consumption screen though with the rest of the apps on the list?
This helped me:
Charge your battery up to full
While plugged in, take charging chord out.
Once the led light turns off plug it back in till it's green. (i usually wait 10 seconds before plugging back in)
With the charging chord still in, turn it off.
Unplug it till the led turns off ( again I let it stand 10seconds) then plug it back in till its green
Do this about 10 times

Anyone have any pointers on how to track down a rogue app when it doesn't show on the power consumption screen? I would usually use spare parts but the one I find in the market isn't the same.

Hi, I bought s23 ultra and turned it on and charged it up to 100% and left it and did not use it. I just turned it on without a sim and without a connection and wifi. How long should the battery stay. I searched on the Internet and found answers for several weeks. Is this correct? How long does the battery stay when the screen is off without a SIM or any other connection?
Screen off but depends if POWER ON (maybe several days) or POWER OFF (possibly a few weeks).

Sounds about normal.
With the screen off but the power on, there are still many system processes that will run in the background.

It's normal if you have to security option enabled that lets you track your phone even if it's power off or screen off. it means there a gps connection from time to time to track it.
