Huawei Nova Plus - blurry contact pictures - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Hi everyone,
I have strange problem with my Huawei Nova Plus. A few contact pictures of mine are blurry when they are calling me. When I enter the contact I see their picture in almost half of the screen. I'll attach pictures below. When calling them again blurry picture on full size screen. The most of my contacts have a little picture in circle. And when I am calling or they are calling me I see a solid color and small picture in circle. When creating contact the picture is big and full size is blurry.
Here what I tried to resolve the problem:
Tried to remove google synchronize with contacts;
To remove contacts and create again;
To remove few of them from favorites and remove picture. When do that there shows little picture in circle but for few seconds and after returns to big.
Please, tell me how to resolve this problem. See the pictures below.

You need to go on contact and press take new picture so you have picture in your phones gallery otherwise it wont show up as whole picture cause the picture u have is probably not in phone gallery
Yes, that is true. I realized that when I am dialing to person who picture I have on gallery the pic is blurry. But when this person call me the pictures is bright. I think that is not bug of the phone.

MMS Quality?
Hey all, I noticed something really weird when I try to send an MMS. If I take a picture with the camera then when in an SMS press Menu > Attach > Picture and pic from my photo album, it compresses the picture to about 15kb and it's TERRIBLE quality. On the other hand, if I press Menu > Attach > Create > Picture and take a picture with the camera via the Message app, it will take around a 110kb picture and it's much better. Is there a way around this? The conversion highly degrades the quality of the photo. iPhone MMS has way better quality than this.

Ive noticed theres a grey line thru the photos when I assign a photo to a contact. Likes like the upper half of the photo has a glare. Is there a way to remove this so the photo looks normal? Thanks.

Hey The thing is like that i take a picture with my Nexus s (using AOKP milstone 4) the picture is high quality no jpeg Artifacts took in the day light so there is no noise i was happy with the picture so i wanted to put it as a contact picture but when i get a call and saw the pic presenting in the incoming call screen it was lower quality with jpeg Artifacts, how can it be solved ? its a phone and the contact and all phone realeted stuff should always look at best
Anyone irritated with small caller ID contact pic?
I love the phone, but the outgoing and incoming call screens Have a really small coin sized contact pic. It just seems too small for the screen size. Tried changing contact pic resolution but makes no difference.
Display issue ?
Hi , I noticed an issue with the display of my Nokia 7.1 the edges of the display look cropped, I mean that text or photos look cut off. 1- the screenshot in the first photo from facebook app shows obvious cropping on the left side (the word Sony) 2-second screenshot from eBay app, see the word lens is missing the letter S 3-third screenshot from Instagram stories, both emoticons are cropped. 4-the last photo shows a screenshot on the left with cropped green leaf, and on the right, a screenshot sent to me from the account owner the leaf is not as cropped as what I see . my display size in display setting is on Default ! I contacted Nokia support through the app in the phone, they asked me to do a soft reset, reset app preferences. nothing solved the issue, any suggestion, are you facing the same issue ?
My understanding is that this is caused by the aspect ratio (this phone is 18:9). A lot of apps have not been updated on Android to support this natively, which is why you see the cut off edges on images in things like Instagram or Snapchat.
I agree fully with Ansago. I see this in eBay and Instagram (not to the extremes your screenshots show but it is there) and I was also under the impression that it is the long form factor of the screen not playing well with cell padding in the app designs. I tried to alter a lot of settings like display size and keyboard height but nothing was changing the text wrap cut off when I found a few examples. I think because it is limited to so few apps that it is on the app programmers to fix the issue.
