2018 Honda Odyssey - Android Lollipop 5.1.1 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just took delivery of a 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L that has an Android Lollipop 5.1.1 based system.
I attempted to connect to the system to gain root following the instructions which work for a 2016 Honda Pilot which were found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71331595&postcount=404
I was able to connect via ADB wirelessly to the vehicle

Okay - should be all set, initiate factory reset and hope for the best!
Go to Home ->Settings->System->Factory Data Reset (scroll all the way down) and ititiate factory reset, press enter when unit has rebooted & reconnected to WiFi

This adbd's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set; try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.

Now I did clear out my Keys on the computer side and and tried again and got no further.
Has anyone successfully rooted a 2018 Honda system yet?
If not I am willing to be the guinea pig, but I am not an Android guy and could use some help.

I was able to enable USB debugging, connect via ADB and install "some" APks
I was able to get an older version of waze to work (no need to disable distracting driver mode)
