I can't seems to find a Female USB-C to Micro USB adapter anywhere.
Can someone share a link to a place that do sell them.
Do you mean an adapter that converts a female USB-C to a female microUSB or one that has a female USB-C on the one end and a microUSB on the other?
What we need is an adapter which we can use to charge our legacy devices with the dash charger. So female usb-c to male microUSB. All i could find is with some ****ty cheap adapter which is falling apart on aliexpress, which I don't trust.

Why don't you pull out the Dash cable from the Dash charger and plug in a normal USB-A to micro-USB cable?

Because it's between the wall and the desk. I have to pull the desk first. Also i don't have an another free socket for a secondary charger.

Ah okey. I see. Workaround could be to use an extension cable, so the dash-charger will not sit behind your desk anymore.

Would this do "USB Type-C to MicroUSB Female Adapter"? I'd previously bought their old OTG mSD adapter and just a few days ago ordered their Dash Micro G3 Type-C (OTG mSD reader) for my OP5.
Their products are on Amazon but at least in Canada their more expensive than buying directly from the Meenova web site. Shipping is not as fast as Amazon usually is but the products are less expensive than on Amazon. At least I didn't have to pay any customs fees or local sales tax in Canada. I found their products simply work and are durable as my original micro-USB OTG card reader still works perfectly. If it wasn't for the OP5's Type C connector I'd not even be buying another OTG mSD reader.
Lets try to make it clearer i want to take a cable which is male end is USB-C and plug it to an adapter and I would like that the male end of the adapter will be micro usb.

Not sure about the out of the charger, but B&N said that the plug will be the same proprietary one used in the NC, not a standard micro USB.
Is the USB to Micro USB cable used by the SGP 4 or 5 a proprietary cable to this specific device? I have read several posts here and on other forums that some cables don't work or some chargers with micro USB connections don't charge the SGP. Is there something special in the wiring of the cable that comes with the SGP. I would like a spare cable and a car charger, but want to be sure I am getting one that will work.

Been wondering this myself, I read a write up on another forum with a lot of different specs amongst different micro usb samsung chargers it made my head spin.....I read that they(Phone manufactures) will be making a micro-usb standard next year amongst phone manufactures that should eliminate this issue....I have a LG micro usb charger that does nothing for my galaxy player.
I've been using a short USB to microUSB cable from Sandisk intended for their Clip Zip players. No problems charging or transferring data to the SGP 5.0.

The AC and car chargers for my Verizon LG Revere phone will both charge the SGP 4. The connector is a commonly-used mini USB standard, shaped like the letter 'D' when viewed from the end.
Has anyone actually gone out and bought a cable or charger for the SGP5 that works? It is nice that this or that phone or device's cable and charger work -but if you don't own that phone or device to get the cable or charger from, it does not help. And Samsung does not seem to offer OEM cables or chargers on their site.

Just like my Toshiba TG01, the SGP needs a micro-usb connection with the data pin shorted to ground in order to charge correctly. In the Samsung charger that comes with the US version, the charging cable is a straight micro-usb data connector, which means the charger must have the data pin shorted. This way, the cable itself can be plugged into the PC for data transfer. Personally, I have hacked up an adapter (female USB to male USB) which has the two pins shorted, so I can plug the adapter in-line with the data cable into any USB port that supplies a regulated 5V, and the SGP will charge. Otherwise, you need to make sure the charger has the proper implementation of the shorted data pins.

I understand what you are saying but not sure how to implement it to make an adapter such as you have. Do you short the D+ and D- wires in the adapter cable to the ground wire - touch (connect) all three together?
I have been using the charging cable for my LG cosmos 2 and it works fine. I have, however, only used it for charging, not data.

Wouldn't all USB port chargers - by that I mean a car charger with a usb port in it or a wall charger with a usb port in it, have the data pins disconnected or shorted out as they are made for charging only and of course, no data transfer?
My Optimus-V cable does not work for charging or USB.
My car charger for my Optimus does not charge my SGP5.
My Logitech Mouse cable does charge my SGP5, but USB to PC does not work.
I have a car charger ordered not received yet, 50-50 shot at working.
A "standard" would be nice!
That's odd... Nearly all Samsung devices (except for Tabs) follow the USB charging standard, which is that D+ and D- need to be shorted together by the charger to indicate a dumb charger.
iPad/iPhone chargers don't do this - iDevices do NOT follow the standard.

Any USB 3 cable will work. I just bought one on Amazon for under $10. I don't know if a USB will work or not....The plug on the AC adaptor is a USB 3 plug.

I haven't come across a dual USB charger that will put 1A into an Android phone out of the box. If you don't mind buying a USB cable that has the data pins shorted (so the phone recognizes it as a dedicated charger), then the Griffin Powerjolt dual USB car charger (1A each port) is nice.

So it's not the car adapter that's not putting out 1A, it's the USB cable? If I were to use any car adapter + charging USB cable, my GNote would charge at full rate?
Also: how do I know if my USB cable is strictly charging or charging + data?

The charger has to be capable of putting out 1A or more for our Notes. If the voltage regulator inside the charger can't put out >=1A, then having the data pins shorted won't do any good. But if it can put out 1A+ and you don't have the data pins shorted, then the Note won't draw the full 1A. A lot of car chargers capable of 1A+ don't have the data pins shorted. I have read some people have luck with a OEM Motorola (1A out of the box) and I believe there is at least one Rocketfish charger (sold at Bestbuy) that gives 1A out of the box (although it only has one USB output). The problem is most chargers are meant to be compatible with iDevices and don't try to comply with the USB spec.

A few guys at work were buying cables off Ebay that were purposely made to have the data pins shorted. There are a few threads here on XDA (in the Note sections) that discuss various chargers and the need to short the data pins together.

I bought a bluetooth FM transmitter, and it came with charging cables. I know they are charging cables because it doesn't work as data transfer. Do you think the pins are shorted, or the wires are absent? Any way I can check?

i used the voltage widget(as he mentioned) to check and see if it puts out 1am
just download/install the widget,plug into phone, and see what the widget says
if its 5,000 or less, then its running at only .5 amp
i see at least 9,000 (though it should be 10,000 or so) when 1amp is running

it worked great for about a month (full 1amp) but now its conked out on me
so i was trying to go the shorted charger route this time, instead of an adapter
is there an instruction book somewhere that shows how to short cable?

Best buy sells a rocket fish micro usb premium car charger that works great and it has a extra usb port up top. It's what I use.

I purchased this vehicle fast charger for my Note 5 and it works great to fast charge my Note 5. It has a coiled cord, which I really like, and an LED light that helps you to see at night that you are orienting the micro USB plug properly. It is OOS on Verizon:

I purchased this $10 micro USB to USB C adapter to use with the vehicle fast charger I already have and it works great to fast charge my S8. I like that I can have both a micro USB and USB C charger in one since my bluetooth earpieces are all micro USB. The laynard makes it nice to stay attached to the charger so I don't have to go looking for it.

It's a bit pricey at $10 but it works to fast charge my S8 so I didn't have to buy a new charger and it also allows me to have 1 charger in my car for all of my devices.
If you have Amazon Prime and get both the vehicle fast charger for $14 and the adapter for $10, it would come to $24, which is not bad for a vehicle fast charger that can charge both micro USB and USB C devices. The coiled cord is really nice IMO and so is the LED light for when you are charging a micro USB device.
