I bought a cheap Nexus 5x off eBay because they were having some problems with getting it to boot.
I just thought that it was a simple brick problem, but it won't even boot into recovery or anything. No charging notification LED, but when I plug it into the computer, it's being recognised as an external drive.
Therefore I assume that the entire system partition has been erased off it. Without that I am unable to boot into recovery or enable ADB to boot and flash anything. Any assistance would be muchly appreciated, thanks.

Hey there, I have and Xperia U unlocked bootloader and rooted device, before a week I used an app called Multi Mount SD Card Mounter to mount the internal storage, while I was doing some stuff on my pc by mistake I burned an ISO of backtrack on it(selected Phone SDcard instead of flashdrive), while it was formatting, I quickly removed the usb.
After a while I inserted it into my pc and what i found was message "Do you want to format?" So I tried to format it but it failed, later on I opened CWM and select Mount USB Storage and I was able to format it to FAT file system. but when I connected it when the phone was booted up, I still got "Do you want to format ?"
So I googled and found some commands to re partition the storage (adb or mkfsdos etc), plus one more command to remount the sdcard,
finally I got my internal storage but it was only 128KB partition!!, plus no files in it. While I was able to mount my real sdcard from CWM, the booted phone couldn't recogize it and saying "sdcard damaged" couldn't mount. etc, Couldn't perform format sdcard from CWM too. (error mounting sdcard)
Atlast thought to reboot phone and try again but it didn't, No Charging LED, no fastboot, no flashmode nothing...
Just blank!
Bricked totally..
I sent my phone to sony center, they said motherboard is damaged it needs to be replaced costing around 50% of my phone price. I took it back from center without any repairs and what I found was I got the red charging led when I charged my phone.
I tried many combinations vol up vol down power(for 15 seconds and all everything)
I cannot boot my phone into flashmode nor fastboot no CWM (PC doesn't detect the device) just the charging led..
I think I've messed up with the bootloader or something.
If any possible solutions please help...
Thanks in advance..

Hello everyone,
my phone (Prestigio Multiphone PAP5044 DUO) got stuck after booting at screen Encryption Unsuccessful, there is button Reset phone but it does nothing. I have tried factory reset from android system recovery, but it says mount /data error, so no success there. I thought I could fix it through adb, but my phone doesn't have debugging through usb enabled, I have read that it may be done somehow with fastboot, but the phone is not recognized in device manager (have tried some drivers, shows only storage drivers of the phone in disk drives) so the fastboot doesn't show any device. Any ideas? Or is my phone bricked forever?
Thanks for answers!
Hello,
my phone did not boot after flashing. The only thing I saw was a purple screen with an error message, so I connected my L40 to my Windows 8.1 computer. My PC recognized my mobile as a usb mass storage, but it was write protected. Stupidly I deleted the partition using disk part. That worked perfectly. I thought it would not matter if I deleted a partition. It was only a few kilobytes in size.
Unfortunately my phone did not boot anymore after that.
In the device manager, it' s shown up as qusb_bulk.
Is there any way to fix the issue, so my phone will be able to boot up again?
I sincerely appreciate all your help.

hello
i need some help i am kinda clueless i have a archos 80 cesium
with no software at all no recovery etc
the only thing it does is boot logo and after like couple min it goes on no bootable device hit any key
its normal a windows tablet
anybody suggestions ?
Less info how you get it bricked that way, which maybe is helpful to know. Custom recovery, stock?
Whatever i guess only chance to unbrick is by flashing stock-rom
Stock rom is not at ftp://support.archos.com/Smartphones&Tablets/
Seems like it has a SDE firmware?

guess you find some answers here:

Not sure if I should bump this thread, but thought I shall leave my two cents here.
I feel you have corrupted the boot or the internal storage. Since this is a windows tablet, i recommend trying to get into boot and check for boot options, in parallel you also also try to live boot a lightweight linux distribution via an otg pendrive and check the internal storage.
there are also windows recovery tools you can try boot via an otg pendrive.
If the bios supports sd card as a boot device, you may try that instead of the pendrive.
I think its the ESC key on the keyboard to enter bios(ofcourse connect it to the only usb port as OTG)
i have a ZTE Max Duo Tracfone which is stuck in a boot loop. What is different about my phone caught in a boot loop, from (other phones caught in a boot loop mentioned on this website is that other people have flashed ROMs which caused the loop, but I have not done that. My device is not rooted. I don't know how it happened but I rebooted because UNDER PHONE SETTINGS/APP I could not clear the cache from google play or anything. Under the reboot menu, I have since wiped the cache and know that the inevitable end is to re-set the phone which will wipe out my calendar, my data, etc.
My question is this, is there anyway I can transfer my data or files on my internal hard drive while it is stuck in the boot loop? I have installed Wondershare android and Mobiledit, but neither have been able to find my phone to transfer the files. Could it be that when a phone is stuck in a boot loop, windows 10 cannot read the phones internal hard drive until the booting is finished? Therefore, since the OS cannot advance past the loop, I can't open the phone to copy it?
I have installed the ZTE universal driver, but Windows (pc) doesn't recognize my phone when I plug it to the PC via cable. Under WINDOWS 10 DEVICES, it says nothing, but once I plug in my phone, Windows 10 device Manager does say Universal Serial Bus Devices/ADB interface, and under (OTHER DEVICES), a device called MTP appears with a yellow asterisk, but i see nothing about zte driver. I tried to update MTP with the ZTE Driver, but it said incorrect driver. Maybe I need the ZTE DUO driver which I haven't been able to find on google. I only have used the universal zte driver.
Not a noob, but not an expert either. Recently installed Android studio, but I don't see anything on the menu which allows me to run commands for the phone. am willing to try anything to save my data.
thanks you, james
