Hi,
I need to extract a few partitions in the .img format from the file gpt.bin from my stock firmware. However, I can't get it due to programs such as 7Zip and WinRAR giving me errors when I attempt to get the files.
I need help to get these files so I can unbrick my Moto X Force.
Thanks

how can i convert the system folder to system.img?
PLS HELP
Ive done this but it was year's ago while making an odin flashable firmware for sgh-t599. Sorry to say I can't remember the procedure but I used guides so the info is out there.
You'll need Linux, and you must know the size of system partition and if it need to be raw img format or sparse img format.
With the right commands these img's can also be extracted straight from a working device.
I was looking to attempt to root a phone (Asus zenfone v520kl) and stumbled upon a problem that I am stuck on and can't find a solid answer to.
Basically, the phone's bootloader is now unlocked and has the WW 3.3 firmware ( https://mega.nz/#!l7wBlQ4B!uB63yH5Rir24GaSfDMWKowqdz-N_sc6SJ-q1WuuGiqM/ ). I was planning on patching the boot.img with MAGISK but 7-Zip does not properly extract boot.img from the .raw file. (boot.img, system.img, cache.img and recovery.img end up with erros and their file size ends up with 0 after extracting. Most of the other img seem to extract just fine.)
So my questions:
1) is there another program that might be able to extract the .raw file. Suggested ways was 7zip or rename extension to .zip and extract which doesn't work either. Also downloading from different websites yield the same problem as they all seem to be the same file. If not,
2) Might there be a way to extract boot.img from the phone itself. (Making matters worse, the phone doesn't have root access and booting to recovery doesn't work. There is also no TWRP for this phone. I did try using TWRP for zenfone 3 deluxe for fun, but that ends up with a black screen.)
I downloaded the stock rom for a Motorola device (E4 Plus) and know how to flash it with SP Flash Tool it but I'm curious as to how I could mount/extract the .img files to see what's inside and try modifications.
Trying to mount the .img files as ext4 on Linux fails and running simg2img also fails. Any ideas?
Another thing I'm wondering is if there's a way to convert the scatter files to a flashable rom (zip file)? and why are the scatter files so large compared to "normal" flashable roms?
Before I would appreciate your help
The tools that I could find here in the forum have helped me to extract the firmware files and later extract the files from the system.img and vendor.img from Android 10 down, which I have and thanking them for their great work.
I have downloaded a firmware but it is from the Android 11 version when unzipping it I find the system.img, system_ext.img, vendor.img and vendor_boot.img then when I run the tool to extract the files from the img files it gives me Error the tools from what I see only support the version of Androd 10 so I cannot extract the files
Someone from here has been able to extract the files from these img of android 11 and if so, where can I download the tool to be able to do it from windows thanks for the attention
I have been looking for tools for windows that allow me to extract the files from the file system.img vendor.img and vendor_boot.img since they are android 11 firmware, so someone who can help me how to extract the files, I have android 10 firmware and I can extract the files without any problem
