Can't play .flac files. - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

I have RN4 Global on Snapdragon and i can't play .flac files. ROM doesn't matter because it happens on every single one. Only music player that is able to do so is Poweramp, but i dont like it :/ What causes that problem and how to fix it?

[Q] Duplicate Music on CM9 and other ICS Roms

On my Atrix, whenever I use jokersax CM9 or AOKP, every time my phone reboots, my music duplicates. I use my phone alot for music and have over 600 songs on it, so this is becoming a problem. Is it just me having this problem, or are there others too. Does anyone know a fix?
Me too... i only have around 90 songs in my phone and now in my music player its 300+++ songs!
The thing is the songs are not physically there, when u try to play it it wont play and player skips it!
How do we fix this issue?
I don´t really know what to do with the stock player to fix that. If you´re using Poweramp, which i highly recommend, this happens because at default settings it scans folder in more than one mount point and being so, it ends up with duplicated information. To fix, it´s just a matter of going into settings and select which folders are to be scanned.
Hope that helps...
Try pulling stock MIUI music player from my latest build and use that. If the Music apk is borking, this may work well. It's a pretty nice player, too
Try using stock player from a blur rom, i dont have that issue.

[Q] Some FLAC files won't play

I have an HTC One X with Jellybean software. It plays most FLAC files but occasionally I download an album and it won't play on my Android phone although these same files play perfectly with VLC on my computer. Is there any player that I can install on my phone that will play all types of FLAC files?
Folder Player supports FLAC. Also I think both winamp and poweramp support FLAC.
Poweramp is the key
Download poweramp. I have never had an issue with any flac file that was downloaded. It has a great look and sound.

MIUI can't play some MP3s

I noticed that the default music player for MIUI 8 can't play some MP3s, so I downloaded Google Play Music.
However, it doesn't seem to work either. So I checked and found that most MP3s that can't play either have file size > 8MB or < 1MB.
It seems that the music playback is limited to certain file size range.
I think there are some other apps that can do. But I wouldn't want to have 3rd party music player if there's a stock app within the System. I hope there's a fix for this.
Thanks in advanced!

Can't play .flac files on any non-miui based ROM.

I can't play most of my .flac files. You may check if you can play it. I've noticed that only Poweramp can do that because it uses its own audio decoder. Any ideas how to fix it? Isn't there any missing libraries? On MIUI everything works but i don't wanna use it.

Problem with codecs in custom ROMs

Hi,
I've tried almost every Pie-based custom ROM available in this forum for Pocophone and every ROM seems to have issue with audio codecs.
Most specifically they can't reproduce out-of-the-box m4a files.
With stock beta Pie 8.11.15 the Google Play Music app is able to read all my m4a music library from the external SDCard. (actually, the stock MIUI music player can't play m4a files.)
With custom ROMs (e.g. Pixel Experience, AospExtended, LineageOS, etc) the Google Play Music and almost any other player can't read or play the m4a files.
I've tried on rooted and non-rooted ROMs. I've tried all audio mods with no luck.
Players that were able to read the files on a clean custom ROM (with no audio mods installed) are the Sony Music app and the MX Player. But only with the phone speaker. No sound when routing to bluetooth headphones.
My files are DRM-free.
Any ideas? Anyone has the same issue or knows how to solve?
Thanks!
