twrp trouble - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have installed android 6.0.1 with twrp 3.1.1-0
and i cant install anything from internal/external memory , cant see anything in file manager(twrp) , wtf where is my internal in twrp?

I assume that with internal and external storage you mean /sdcard0 and external SD card? Check in TWRP if everything is mounted. If yes, try out an older TWRP build.
BTW, how did you repartition?

no everything not mounted , just blank window (select storage), also i cant see anything in partition SD card , blank aswell ,

There is a submenu somewhere in TWRP (I think 'mounts and storage' or similar). There hit 'mount sdcard' - is this option available?

Can't format internal sd card - /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 on /sdcard failed: no such file

My phone (Omega 13 - siyah kernel 1.5.2) works great but i can't do a full wipe, format INTERNAL /sdcard, restore nandroidbackup or mount internal /sdcard. The error log by cwm recovery is that:
checking for extendedcommand...
skipping execution of extendedcommand. file not found...
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 on /sdcard failed: no such file or directory
W: filed to mount dev/block/mmcblk1p1 (file exists)

error mounting /sdcard!
I hope someone can help me, thanks!
p.s. i have no external sd card insert in the phone
look for a file called superwipe, or megawipe. this will format the internal card however you do need to backup your memory card, you will loose any non backed up data... doing a nandroid backup will NOT back up the internall sd card...
Last time I check, mmcblk1 is external SDcard and not internal SDcard
I understand why it does not work: it try to format external SDcard but as you said you have none
Which recovery do you use?

I supposed that it could be this. I use cwm-based recovery v5.5.0.4 cf-v1.5 (built-in omega 13)
Sorry but i'm android noob i think that recovery is installed on nand but it's built-in with custom rom, right? how can update i my recovery?
This error is strange because even if it does not find a external sd should still format the internal sd instead the process stops

No it could not switch to internal: command are created with a fix mount point in them so it only apply to this mount point and nothing else
AFAIK, the only thing that can format your internal SDcard should be a factory reset but it will also erase all your apps/contacts/settings in the process so make a backup if needed
There is maybe "format /data" in recovery but I am not sure if it will wipe the full internal SDcard or just the /data partition which contains your apps

worst part is when i hit the mount i cant select internal storage its stuck on external in the mount option. then when i hit the mount USB storage all it would do is pop up unrecognized
Have you tried without the external? I it should mount internal by default

Yeah it mounted Internal now so i should just click erase/format FAT in disk utility? damn Macs make things so much harder on these phones haha
Also why would it install now but it says E:Unable to mount ;/sdcard' ?
Yes, hopefully that solves it

[Q] Internal format - cleans all settings ROM-wise?

Hi,
Short question:
When I format "internal SD" (not the SD card) from CWM does this mean that all data ROM-wise was cleared? Or there are some other partitions that I can not access from CWM? Where I can read about this?

It was the answer if you go to mounts and storage in recovery .

The internal memory has nothing to do with the rom

No idea what you mean in this context internal memory is internal storage .
The firmware is located in different partitions of the internal storage often called memory by some users .
The user wants to wipe these partitions of the current rom and its data .
Recovery mounts and storage format data cache system sd card and preload .

I meant "format internal sd" in recovery does not affect the Rom
(Google traduction is very bad lol)

There is no "format internal SD" in CWM.. However if you use the wipe data option it will not remove the rom you are using.. Just the data... Location where all your downloaded apps and settings are stored..
There is a format "/sdcard" option which will format your internal storage area.. Including everything on your internal sdcard.. Again will not delete your rom...

Yes here I was talking to / sdcard when I said "Internal SD Card" : D
For the OP
to wipe all data and the rom boot to recovery as i said and the method i have used for years on SGS .
Mounts and storage
Format cache system data preload and sd card .
Phone will now no longer boot no OS/Rom .
There is format internal sd card in recovery .
Running custom rom that needs rebuild so i just flashed Touch recovery .
formatted as above phone no longer boots no rom no OS empty .

Rom Manager Premium won't backup to ExtSD card

I have Rom Manager Premium 5.5.2.3 and CWM Recovery 6.0.3.2 and my problem is that I cannot backup ROMs to my external sdcard. I've gone into RMP's settings and checked 'Use External Storage' and when I'm in CWM recovery, when I choose 'Backup' from the menu, they always backup to internal sd card. And when I choose 'Backup to external sdcard' I get the message 'Can't mount backup path'. Anyone have a solution/ workaround to get RMP to backup to external sdcard?

[Q] Internal SD Card not accessible

Hi,
I have a strange problem since installing CM 10.1.3 & the latest Dorimanx Kernel on my Galaxy S II. I can't access my internal SD card from the ROM, it's visible and accessible via the recovery system though. Is there any possibility to mount the SD card from inside the ROM again or can anyone give me a clue where to look for it?
Thanks in advance
go into recovery>mount/storage
try to mount
i hope it worked ;D

I can mount in in recovery mode, that's not the problem. I just can't mount it after the phone booted into the OS.
uhm, do you get the notifaction to format your internal sdcard, if not just go to settings>storage>go down and look for "format sdcard"
i know it says sdcard but it format your internal card and not the external, but there's one problem it deletes your app data (its just fresh app)
and everthing on your internal, so picture music is gone. but i think that is better than having a broken internal sdcard.
i hope this works
