The guy talked about apps checking the multitouch functionality also if u were to use developer menu in phone it would display 3 fingers therefore this quick setting disables multitouch above 3 points (the debug menu option to show presses displays always all the presses)

I have no idea what you are talking. I confirm that the one plus 5 is supporting multi touches without any issues. If a certain app doesn't detect more than 3, then it is app specific issue.

Im saying that if u enable 3 finger to screenshot functionality some apps and even the debug menu of oneplus 5 has issues with recognizing more than 3 touches, you don't use the tester apps on google play store that check the multi touch capability in software what you see when you enable the dots on press in developer menu is a lower level implementation of displaying this thing maybe the screen driver handles it itself.

Does it only work in certain apps? I've been trying to use these since I got the phone, and really want to know now that venomROM has custom gestures. Whenever I try a 3 finger swipe on the home screen it just takes me panel view. When I try in apps, it just seems to work as a normal 1 finger swipe.
The lack of info/videos on the web tell me I'm quite incompetent but hopefully you guys can still help me figure this out!

I think the 3 finger swipe is for the app that sends your phone screen to a monitor/TV. You need the medialink equipment to do that.

Yeah it also works normaly with dlna also when I use 3 finger slide on video but on custom roms it doesn't work for me . Can somebody help me?
Just as an fyi, the HTC 3 finger swipe breaks multi touch so you might want to leave that disabled if it is important to you.

I'm developer of application that allows to control tablet (or phone) with gestures similar to iPad.
GMD GestureControl on XDA
I added support for Nexus 10, but I didn't know touchscreen resolution, so I need your help.
If your device is rooted, please install application from that thread (or Play Store) and send me calibrations values:
1) Open application
2) Go to 'Advanced' tab
3) Click 'Calibrate' and follow instructions on screen. Basically you have to click 'Start' and then touch borders till calibration values stop increasing (maximum is registered). Then click 'Stop'
4) Open Help tab, click Email developer->Good overridden settings. Application will prepare email with calibration values. Email it to me.
Thank you.
Just sent you an email. Hope it helps but not entirely sure if the values are right because the screen resolution of a Nexus 10 should be 2560x1600.

Thank you. I updated values. Touch screen resolution may differ from display resolution. Android does mapping inside, but I cannot retrieve these values, so I have to add these values into application or users have to do calibration.
Your app rocks!

Love the work! I have been around XDA for a long time, probably three or four years before I started using this screen name & they added the one name rule. I have always supported those developers that seem good people with great ideas. I never tried your "lite" version, nor did I try any XDA beta versions. I read what the app did, loved the idea, saw a few screen shots & reviews/comments from a few folks I know & respect & instantly purchased both GMD & S-Pen Gesture Control pro apps from the Play Store. I also instantly shared my positive feedback with many via G+ & a few sites.
Having a long XDA history, I have seen a lot of great ideas come & go. Some never quite live up to what they could be, some are ahead of their time & others just are nothing new, just the latest incarnation of some semi-popular feature.
Occasionally though, something comes along that is simple, yet elegant & happens to be an absolutely precise representation of tha natural progression & evolution of base features. This app is just that, the extension of natural progression that touch navigation is becoming. This app is like a feature that should already be integrated from Google, so natural & simple, and yet, so necessary. Anyone that hasn't at least played with this app, is missing out. It is by far my favorite app & I highly recommend supporting the developer, whomever he or she is.

Totally agree (gestures only!). I`m in the middle of making my Nexus 7 `gestures only`... and in the process , I`m getting more screen real estate (no more status/nav bar!). Great app!!
Hey Stupididea, Can you help?
All I want to do is simple snappy ios gestures.
5 finger pinch to home-close
4 finger swipe left or right to switch apps.
5 finger pinch to close-home is not in the default settings so I had to make a custom one.
Its works,.. after 8-9 attempts..
I think Im missing something here. Can you assist with a walk-through of reccomended settings for what im looking to do, or
perhaps update the next build with these settings as a default toggle?
Cheers!

What you wanna do is the following:
1. Go to custom gesture tab
2. press create gesture
3. type in your desired gesture name
4. type "P" (without quotes) in Gesture Path
5. select 5 touch points
6. Tap action type and select: Action -> Status Bar Actions -> Home
7. Hit "Save"
8. You're done!
I need to lay off the sauce.lol I just noticed the 4 finger pinch to close. Works great!

One finger's enough, you just need to tap thrice quickly after enabling Magnification Gestures. It'll be harder to move, though, but you can zoom in/out.
I'm not aware of any app that provides magnification.
My device is S6 edge tmobile. There is a circle setting button always showed up when some app's open. It''s totally useless and sometime makes the screen not working. I know some Tom disable this feature but I just want to know how to do that. Screen shot is here. Anyone knows how ?

Tools toggle -swipe down, uncheck tools toggle.
S6 only has 3 buttons. Multi tasking, home and back.. Android has a 4th button for settings and the floating 3 dots is the 4th buttons and only appears when an app has it in its code for the 4 settings button.
Other android phones that have on screen buttons also has this as part of the navigation

Yeah I mean it.. Sorry. But I know some rom can disable it. like VN 3.0. This button really buzzy me.
It's part of Lollipop for apps that haven't updated to the fact phones don't have hard menu button. App needs to be updated by Dev.

Not possible
This button acts as a replacement for the hardware menu button on older devices.
thats the menu button
Do you guys think that will ever be possible to reprogram the only physical button available on the Z line to make it more useful?
Something like:
Tap = back
Long press = Home
Double tap = Multi-tasking
+1 on this. It would really be great to be able to interact more with it.
But it's not a button......

In that it is not a mechanical activation device, no - it's not a button. But it is a sensor that can detect the presence of a finger, which means we could perform different actions in response to such events... just like one would when "pressing" a button. Hell, assuming the APIs exist, we could even configure the sensor to execute different actions depending on the finger touching it. I'd love to have it do one thing when the thumb on my right hand touches it and another when the thumb on my left hand touches it - as different hands typically indicates different uses.
Those interested in giving the fingerprint sensor additional functionality should keep an eye on this project. It only has a few functions now but might evolve into something more useful.

2. Screen off button(any finger)

I'm not an expert, obviously, and this is why I opened this thread (thanks to the moderator that moved it in the right section) but I guess that a fingerprint reader can or could be used as a sort of button since it is definitely possible to do gestures on (many of) them.
I've found Gravitybox works well, with per finger actions and an automation app it can do quite a lot.

In the latest on Xposed 3.1, Gravitybox 6.2.1. Just set it up on my Moto Z, makes the normal navigation home button temperamental but besides that works well.
(Configuration for per finger actions was in the Fingerprint Launcher section, definitely a new feature)

The home soft button isn't temperamental it's activation area is smaller when activating fingerprint actions.
If you test it out it's reacting to your touch from the middle on up not from the lower end already.

Aye, I did notice that but that makes it temperamental in use since it's not normal to have to carefully touch the top of the button or swipe from the sides to raise the nav bar. Gestures and full screen works grand anyway.
