Huawei Y6 Elite - Huawei Y6 Questions & Answers

Hi. I am rather new to this, so please keep this in mind when I tell you what I have done.
I have a Huawei Y6 Elite. I unlocked the boot loader successfully and then tried to flash TWRP via fastboot. Somehow in this process I have flashed it to the boot partition. Now it boots to TWRP - ONLY. I can enter the recovery mode in the phone but that doesn't offer much.
The phone is NOT rooted.
Please, can someone offer me some kind of solution...??
Is it possible to flash the original firmware via TWRP and start again? If so, can someone PLEASE point me to a link to download it.
The firmware version I need is Huawei Y6 Elite LYO-L02 C718B123.
Any help would be appreciated incredibly. Thank you.

Follow this link.. Hope.. you will find your stock rom..

And if you find the stock rom...
Then
extract the zip file which contains the rom. you'll find a folder name dload
send this dload folder to your sdcard's root directory
put the sdcard in your phone
now power on your device by pressing Vol+, Vol- and Power button at the same time.
it will start installing the official rom
Note: It will only work with Stock Recovery.
If you don have stock recovery then
Download Huawei Update Extractor
Extract the Recovery from downloaded UPDATE.APP in dload folder
put the recovery in your fastboot folder
flash the Stock recovery using fastboot

Thanks for responding.
I did follow the link and use the firmware finder, however I can't work out how to download any firmware versions.
Also I did not have any luck with the update extractor.
Is there a slightly more simplified way you can explain it. I can't seem to get my head around it.
Again, thanks for any and all help. It is greatly appreciated.

Hey sorry for such a delayed response.
No it did not work.

Hi helijoy,
This might be quite late, but I can help you if you can give me your /system image. If you're certain you have TWRP on your boot partition, I can give you stock boot. To extract /system, go into TWRP>Mount, select System, make sure you have adb set up (google it if not) and do these commands (from adb):
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22 of=/sdcard/system.img
exit
adb pull /sdcard/system.img C:/
(replace C: with where ever you want to save it to).
Then upload the file (system.img) to something like mega or google drive and post the link here.

Hi moonlighter,
Can you please link to which root checker app you used? Did you remember to open SuperSU first and upgrade binaries? If not, please do so. After that's done, clear data of the root checker and try again. Also, if possible, try another root checking app.
Awaiting your response,

Hi moonlights,
As I already have said, ensure your SU binaries are up to date by opening SuperSU. And, if it's not too much to ask for, can you please go to TWRP, backup system and upload it somewhere? I was messing around with system and now I'm kind of stuck. It would be greatly appreciated if you could do this, as I have an an unusable phone.
Thanks again,

Hi again helijoy,
Another thing you can do is go to TWRP>Backup and backup everything (if you don't have any space left, just do recovery, boot and system; does are the important ones). Take this backup, upload it to something like MEGA or Google Drive and post the link here. To get this backup, do the steps in TWRP, and then connect it to your computer. Open explorer, go to the phone in This PC, ang check both Internal Storage and MicroSD Card. It will be in the TWRP>Backups folder, and the folders name will have a date and time.just upload this entire folder and post the link here.
Thanks,

From tmonews, it's 4.0.3 and not 4.0.4. I think 4.0.3 is the correct one. Anyway, we will know it soon enough.
Would somebody be so kind and try to keep the update.zip for those of us who have problems getting back to stock?
ICS is now released and my Springboard is downloading the update!
Here is the ZIP file update for anyone that want to grab it to extract and play...
http://www.gamefront.com/files/22180781/Springboard-ics-update.zip
Update:
OTA failed for me right away. I got the update to manually install with the following steps:
1) Created a folder on root of my SDcard, dload
2) Copied the update ZIP file above into dload and renamed it to update.zip
3) Created a zero length file unlmt.cfg in the dload folder
Rebooted with normal VOL+ key held down to start a SD install.
Note: After upgrade completed the Launcher would not start and kept repeating "Unfortunately Launcher has stopped".
To fix, click Ok and quickly bring up the Statusbar menu by swiping it at the bottom of the screen and click on the clock/date, next enter Settings->Apps->All->Launcher, then clear data.
Looks like a full update So everyone who flashed the Springboard to MediaPad could go back now, if wanted.
Best feature in this update for me is, the startup T-mobile sound is about 1/4 the old volume!
:fingers-crossed:
Does this T-mobile ICS seem to support the phone function?

Much appreciated but it would have been even nicer if you could have posted the original URL from Google
I'm downloading it now. I think I might try to flash just the radio files and see if that improves things for me. I'm otherwise satisfied with the international ICS firmware.

/cust/tmobile/us/media/animationsounds/bootSound.ogg

Have you actually got this root method to work for the non-Mediapad Springboard with the T-Mobile firmware? I run Linux and so the command script in this package will not exactly execute on my machine. I tried manually sequentially entering the adb commands contained in the command script, and got stuck at a 'permission denied' error within the first several commands. If this does work for the Springboard, and not just the Mediapad, then there might be something about the embedded windows drivers and software for the device that allows it to work...because I sure can't get it to fly on Ubuntu.

I actually used the below method to install root again on ICS. I believe there is a fastboot for Linux if you cannot find a DOS/Windows machine.
Only issue I was my Springboard was recovery booting off of "recovery2" partition so I needed to flashboot that partition to get CWM recovery to boot. Since the Official Springboard ICS zip package contains the stock recovery.img file you really can flash both recovery/recovery2 partitions and revert back later if needed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850367
And to clarify, for booting into Fastboot, you hold the power button and the VOL closest to it down at the same time.
To boot recovery/CWM hold the power button and VOL key furthur away from the power button (its VOL Up) for some reason.
Also, don't try to use the Touch recovery (TWM) package, it froze up on me when trying to run the root zip installer, but luckily reverting to the basic CWM recovery, I was able to re-install and fix my boot looping.

FUBAR

The title says it all. My M8 has the bootloader unlocked, it's S-off and rooted with Teamwin recovery installed. I started dicking around with it, and messed it up. I went to HBOOT and factory reset. I now have no OS, so obviously, my phone won't start up. I appear to be really stuck. If you guys help me and talk me through this, I'll stop dicking around. :-/
Also, I would like to load my stock bootloader, 1.12.502.18 (CID CWS__001). I've found the kernel source code as well as a 1.3 GB file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376 that supposedly houses this Nandroid backup, but I have no idea how to use it. God, I feel stupid.
Ok. I got the Nandroid backup recovery.emmc.win file pushed to the phone. Now, I have a red triangle in the middle of the screen and I can't get to recovery or fastboot.
Flash twrpCopy the rom to where your adb and fastboot are located connect phone via twrp run this command
adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard/. exactly as shown here change nameofrom.zip to the name of the rom your trying to flash...this will put a rom on your internal storage and it then can be flashed via twrp

I was able to get into TWRP just fine. When I pushed the file, it moved the file, but I can no longer get to TWRP. So the ROM is there, I just can't access it. Thoughts?
Ok, I got Recovery going. I'm now in TWRP. Where did adb stick the file I pushed?
take out sdcard if using one and only use internal storage..Have to push a flashable rom zip not nand backup.once is pushed it should take awhile, youll go to install like any other custom rom from the install menu. Or if you cant get that going use adb sideload command
Make sure command is correct
adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard/.
Dumb question. Where in the world do I find the stock recovery zip? I can't find any zip...only img, etc.

Thanks for the help. Downloading your ROM now.
If you can get in recovery choose the option "adb sideload" put the ROM on your desktop and name it rom. Then in a command window type adb sideload rom.zip , TWRP will automatically recognize the update script and flash it for you.

I don't think he was asking that. I am pretty sure he was asking where he managed to find the stock recovery, which is why the red exclamation, probably because he didn't pull or nand the recovery as a raw or img file before flashing something custom (the user that asked, that is).
I doubt is is a stock AT&T ship recovery from an RUU dump or ota, since there haven't been any for AT&T that I know of yet, so it's likely just a raw dump or was part of the nand backup he restored.
Already been sorted thank you fot you insight

RECOVERY
here's a video tutorial from The Best about installing T.W.R.P on y-625.
Here's the steps that r shown in this video.
Written by xda member @AkaruiTenshi
First of all, you will need to install abd and fastboot drivers if you're on a windows pc, if you use linux, just install abd and fastboot packages and dependencies for your distro.Connect the phone in the computer using an usb cable, and activate the debug in the phoneNext step, on windows open the command line...
In linux, just open the terminalNow call the abd, just type this (whitout quotes):
"abd -start-server"
Wait a little bit, in your phone will apear a mensage to validare the abd acess to the phone, just say yes...Again in the terminal or command line,
type:"abd reboot bootloader"(do not wait until the phone reboot).
type
"fastboot boot recovery.img".
After this, the twrp will boot in your phone, without installation (if you install the twrp, your warranty is void),
you can use twrp for backup your stock rom for exemple...
If you want to install the twrp, just change the last comand to:
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Method two---
Simply grab flashify or mobile uncle tool app and flash the recovery.img with those.
These 2 app needs root access.

I have asked Huawei support for a simmilar question here's the reply:
"...Given that your device is manufactured for Bulgaria, you may refer to http://consumer.huawei.com/bg/support/index.htm to select your country region of support to be assisted accordingly.
Kindly be inform that Huawei strongly do not suggest the customers to download upgrade from a different region as it will affect the device performance and void the warranty. "

You may need to run Kingroot several times to gain successful root.
4. Install and run SuperSU me to remove Kingroot and convert to SuperSU (not required) :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ore&pcampaignid=APPU_1_uzPDVbGyFcGNyATHrqmoCA
Alternative (free) method to replace Kingroot:
Follow Steps 3 to 12.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ide-how-to-root-tripping-knox-kitkat-t3129484
Don't flash the boot partition with Flashfire, uncheck.
You will also need to flash the system version of SuperSU not EverRoot.
When you get to step 12, don't flash the firmware. Disable EverRoot and just flash this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/v2-64-2-66-supersu-mode-t3286120
5. Wifi fix:
modify the line below in /system/build.prop:
ro.securestorage.support=true to false
6. Model number fix:
http://www.techgainer.com/change-fake-android-device-model-number-and-brand-name/
7. To fix “Unauthorized actions have been detected”
disable 'Security log agent'
Enjoy your rooted device.
Recovering from a soft brick:
Flash the stock firmware provided below wirh ODIN in the AP slot.

What do you mean debugging does not work? Adb is enabled by default, it's an engineering boot image.

King root can be replaced with supersu me or the script. It can also be easily uninstalled via its settings.
What did you actually install?
My system went haywire. I need a command thru terminal on android to factory reset, can't boot into recovery.

You can't possibly have lost the recovery, nothing has touched it. It does take a short while for stock recovery to boot.

Reflashed Stock Firmware, regained access to recovery, factory reset and back up and running. i actually noticed some new features in recovery. i can actually apply update from sd now, whereas before i could not access files on sd, looks like dm-verity is also gone, or at least not showing up in recovery as before (maybe because it was a failed test) also the start up of the phone has skipped the initial set up (no add account or set up password) and the main screen is way more crisp and clear than what i had on before, even with the other 3 reflashes i have previously done. so far so good though

The model number missing is a known issue. You just need to edit the build.prop and put it back.
See this link for more info: http://www.techgainer.com/change-fake-android-device-model-number-and-brand-name/

ok so the script is working but there is a different way
1. install kingroot 4.5 from apk mirror
2. Run script
3. update Su
4. update Binary
(i had to reinstall kingroot and deny kingroot root permission before binary would update and uninstall and keep root)
it seems denying kingroot root permission keeps the root on the device, letting su take over for root permission and uninstall of kingroot.
i know it seems weird but it works, the hang up was updating su, which you can do from google play

Wiil try and do
U think it will work on L24?
A bit of context here - my device model is BND-L34 (Mate SE) and I had tried using a method that a user posted in a Mate SE specific thread that detailed how to manually update to Oreo.
Well, that failed miserably and I ended up with a bricked device. I had tried numerous different things to try and revive it (some that I had come up with on my own) and none of them worked. Then I thought to use Multi-Tool to unbrick it with a backup I had lying around but unfortunately it was a Nougat backup.
I had almost lost hope until stumbling upon this thread. I figured I had nothing else to lose so I decided to try to restore my phone with Multi-Tool and your backup files - all except for the system image because MEGA decided to **** block me due to it being a large file (you should definitely upload them elsewhere, by the way), so what I did was use a stock system image someone uploaded in the OpenKirin RROS thread along with the rest of your backup files.
I had also gotten a stock ramdisk_recovery.img file from somewhere else (forgot where but if anyone has trouble finding a stock recovery for Oreo I can upload mine). And VOILA (hope I spelled that right)! My device is back to life on Oreo and I couldn't be more happy.
SO all in all, even if you didn't intend for L34 users to use these files, I want to thank you!
System image I used (see post #2)

(Screenshots below in a separate post)
Had to put them in a separate post if I didn't wanna go through the trouble of moving the screenshots to my PC and uploading them there
Thanks man, it's great..:good::good::good::good::good:

If twrp works, there is a patch file that you can use to unlock frp.
MOD EDIT: LINK REMOVED
Would be helpful to understand what caused this problem though.

Ok. Some reason twrp does not good a good job with factory resets.
I suggest flash that frp unlock.zip
Then flash stock ramdisk.img and stock kernel.img.
That will remove magisk, for now anyway.
Then try to boot. If still not, then flash stock recovery and do factory reset. But if reset again locks frp. You will be stuck.
If you dont mind resetting from fresh system maybe just reflash with hurupdater or hwota, instead of flashing stock recovery.
