Kingroot doesn't work.
But maybe downgrading to some older developer build via edl mode would work.

No. Kingroot & other 1-click root apps can possibly soft-brick a Snapdragon device.
- Unlock your bootloader & Flash TWRP
- Boot into TWRP & Flash Universal Boot Img Patcher Zip
- Reboot to TWRP & Backup current ROM
- Flash SuperSU Zip & Reboot to System
Will warranty be void if i install recovery or root my redmi note 3 snapdragon?
Hi guys , i tried to root using twrp , i flashed supersu zip and lazy flashed otp but when i reboot the phone it isnt rooted and supersu app is not installed . Can you help ?
Use Magisk to root.
Yes...I also need to root my device
I'm unable to uninstall SuperSU from my phone and to switch to Magisk.
It's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with LineageOS14 custom ROM, and I badly need Magisk. Through TWRP I tried to uninstall SuperSU using UPDATE-unSU.zip (it seemed to succed), but when I try to install Magisk, TWRP displays error.
Then I have to revert to SuperSU.
Any idea?
You have correct version of TWRP for your device?

Install magisk manager apk manually after flashing magisk 18.1 zip and booted into system.
It's a known problem in pie.
