Hi, my Moto Z doesn't allows me flash the 7.1.1 OTA. When i select "Apply update from SD Card" it doesn't appears nothing, only the black screen, do you have any idea?. I can't use the sideload method because i doesn't have a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable yet.
As far as I know in the stock recovery the internal storage is the SD card not the actual external sd card and for it to work the zip has to be named "update.zip"

Can CWM install an update.zip from the external sd card? How?
I don't have access to a pc or have cable to flash after formatting the internal sd so the external card is my only option it seems.
Any other recovery suggestions?
Hi, I've installed CM7 on my SD card so that when I switch on my NT16 with the SD card it boots to CM7 and Android 3.7.3. I've extended the 4th partition on the SD card to make use of the card's full capacity but I can't seem to put any files onto this partition.
When I explore the SD card it just shows less than 200MB. When I connect the NT16 with the SD card to my laptop it shows two removable disks but when I click either it says to insert a removable disk.
Any ideas as to how I can put files onto my SD card?
Gotta put it into USB mode.
Only way I know how on my 8GB NT is to:
1) Boot from the CM7 SD card.
2) Once running CM7, connect cable to PC.
3) Android bot will appear on screen with a button that you can click to get it into USB mode.
4) Only after you click will both drives (internal and SD card) appear on the PC.
i tried the sdcard way for roms but i just can't wrap my head around how to get to the fourth partition while using the rom. if u browse to it using a file explorer like root explorer it will only display the rom partition rather than the user data partition.
so the question is: how to get the user data partition to show while using the rom...
Thank you!
I try to set encryption for internal storage and Micro SD. Then i unmount the micro sd and open it in PC. Encryption doesn't work because i can see all files in micro sd when open it in PC. is the encryption really work? i use Razr Maxx with Stock ICS
Hi, I bought this raspberry pi 3 model b and I heard that you need an external micro sd card to boot from. I do have a 32gb micro sdcard that is class 4 which is excellent for use in a raspberry. But, my pc does not have a port for micro sd cards and I wonder (because I used to transfer files via my phone to get it to the sdcard) if there is a way to make the phones sdcard show up as another device (external storage) on the pc. All my android devices have superuser acces if that is needed. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via pm or this thread.
Btw, I am not planning to buy a sdcard reader but if that is the only option I will do it.
Hi!
is there any custom revcovery, which has the option to boot (not to install) Android completely from SD card or USB?
I'm aware, that SD or USB would be a pain due to low transfer speed, and also, that you cannot just copy a firmware image files to sd card.
So, search didn't show any helpfull results, except "https://www.xda-developers.com/rom-external-sd-card-guide/" (which seems to work for some devices with dead emmc, only)
Any idea?
