App launch speed - Honor 4x Real Life Review

OMG! Kim K posted another selfie with tons of cleavage! Rate this thread to express how quickly apps launch on the Honor 4x. A higher rating indicates that even the most intensive apps launch quickly and without hesitation, even if they are no longer in RAM.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

I am using it on KK and haven't faced lag till date. App launchea pretty fast and no noticeable lag or delays

Good speed but could be improved more.

Beat me to it! I just set up the app. Will report back in a few days after it's done "learning".
Cool find, I'll give it a shot.

It's also in learning mode on my device. Let's see if this helps

Thanks, just installed and in learning mode also. Here's hoping it helps, even if just a bit.
Is it not sad that the app is in learning mode for 2 days... aka has done nothing yet, but people are reviewing it??? If it does not turn off cpu cores when they hit idle the app is useless in my book.

Try Greenify. Basically the same thing but you can put any app into hibernation. I've noticed a huge increase in battery in just 24 hours as it seems apps like Maps and YouTube are constantly running in the background. Android System under battery usage is very minimal with Greenify disabling apps. Will shut off the background processes of your choice a little after you turn the screen off.

Still learning....

Worked here. Its saving now
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I'm interested to see how this will work alongside Greenify and Battery Saver Pro. The results I'm getting with just the two are phenomenal. System Usage takes almost no battery and Android OS is only half an hour more than my screen on time taking only 9%.

I just flashed snowJB... So looks like I need to start over.

Mine just finished learning. Will need another day or so to see how much it helps.
Don't have any screenshots, clean flashed CM10, but after about a day it did nothing, my battery lasted about the same time as it usually does.
it just started learning today, and ive already noticed a huge boost in batter performance

I don't think it actually starts saving battery until after its done learning. Just look at the ongoing notification.

Yay for more battery drain. On top of normal usage, this app has kept my phone awake for an extra hour just from today. 3 days of learning? Looks like this thing will never kick into gear with Greenify doing all the work and more. Uninstalling lol.

Performance decrease

Anyone notice a performance drop in jellybean? I've added some pics to illustrate. With JB I lost around 500 points ..antutu and quadrant dropped too. Anyone else?

Yes i have the same problem i felt it was sluggish whats you quadrant score mines around 6k and in cf bench i get scores lower than gs3 on native and barely better overall. Im about to factory reset monday and reinstall it all.
What about battery life?
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply :good:
As for performance, I never cared for benchmarks.
I did everything from scratch and after installing JB I did a factory reset, formatted the external microSD, and reinstalled all my apps.
So far very happy with the new under the hood features and icons. I recommend this update.
The new update has been running great for me. If anything it feels like it's running faster. Battery life doesn't really seem worse but it doesn't really seem any better either. Still a worthwhile update that will hopefully spur further development.
Benchmarks don't matter and are a terrible way of measuring real world performance, but I am pushing almost 8000 quadrant scores on completely stock JB Also your geekbench screenshots show it outperforming everything but the Nexus 10 which has an A-15 and a better GPU.

My quadrant are 6000. I hit 7800 on ics. And it beat the nexus 10 on ics.

Actually, when upgrading from ICS to JB a small performance drop should be expected. I read this in some post a LONG while back when JB 4.1 came out. It has to do with Project Butter. I noticed this with all three devices I own too (HP Touchpad, Nook Tablet, and my beloved LG OG).
I hit 7989 on Quadrant. Completely stock yesterday.

Bench marked score

I flashed some of chaotic weaponry stweaks profile and did this benchmark to see what I get. Is my phone fast ? Can it be faster? Just wondering
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
What was the score prior to flashing the tweaks, and does your phone feel faster after flashing the tweaks?
The note 2 can benchmark way higher than that. However I prefer smoothness and battery efficiency..
People actually care about benchmark scores?

Lol my thought exactly. These days, it's all about the software. Worrying about hardware speed is a thing of the past.

Yes, LG G2 battery is great, we all know that. It is also 3100mAh, so the comparison to the iPhone 5 (1440mAh) is apples to oranges seeing as it is more than twice as big.
There is really no point to this thread really.

That's true but from the customer point of view, they don't care what inside, they don't care what tech of the battery pack is being used, they don't care it's 1mAh or 100000mAh. What people care is how long it would last, of course, it has to be packed in the slim, thin body.
I got 48 hours battery life with 8.5 hours screen time ? g2 is the best

The battery could be 10 times as big, but if one of them can last a full day and the other only half a day, that's what's important. G2 also has bigger screen and faster processor, so it needs a bigger battery..
But I agree, there is no point to this thread. It's the same as the other 1/2 dozen talking about how great the battery life is.

Actually the A7 CPU (iPhone 5S) is faster than the Snapdragon 800. But that doesn't really matter, the screen is what uses most of the power.
Oh my god. That discussion once again. A dual core 1.3 GHz processor is not FASTER than a 2.3 GHz snapdragon 800. It's the optimisation between hardware and software that makes it appear faster - the SoC in itself is NOT faster.

Very true.
I hear the first 64bit Snapdragon will be the 410 (midrange), guessing Android will also be going that direction soon.
They haven't announced the 64 replacement for S800/805
