Charging speed is nothing to shout about as it's about the same as most other phones these days. I'd have preferred if the phone is compatible with other proprietary tech like QC. Charging is so much slower when it's being used -- Perhaps a safety feature? But I don't like that...
I absolutely desist the charging speeds while using the phone. Otherwise it's as good as others.

Well. Let me try if the device heatsup the same way as like Original charger did.
Not sure if it will work.
Fast charging or quick charging technology is more to do with the interaction between phone and charger. Even if we plug in a higher rate charger, phone won't recognize it and will revert to 5V 2A. FCP is different from Dash. Dash reserves all circuits to the charger.
Mine took 2:05hrs to go from 0 to 88%

Agree. I read somewhere that the phone automatically reduces the current to avoid damage.
Slow Fast Charging
Fast Charging is worst in Honor 8 Pro, it takes over 3 hrs to get it charged, while Oppo f1 Plus use to take only 40 mins to charge from 0-100%..
Badly need an updates from Honor Community to fix this problem

Hello guys , i noticed 2 positive things but i am not so sure,
i think that using the Note4 fast charger has charged my phone from 40% to 100% in like about alittle as 30minutes !
the other positive thing which i think is that my Nexus6 didnt heat up whereas using the Turbo Charger heats my phone ( And i dont ever use the phone when i have it plugged in the charger ) .
anybody else with a similar experience here ?

Same with the Motorola-charger delivered with the N6.
The N6 is suitable for Turbocharging as long it is charged below 78%. (Read somewhere).

yeah bro , i noticed but the heating up issue dissappears when i use the Note 4 (fast charger) .. the heating issue on my nexus6 only is there when i have the phone down to 30% charge and then using turbo charger it heats the phone, but when i charge it with the note 4 cable it doesnt heat it up ..
would it be bad if i kept using the note Fast Charger on my nexus ?

No. The use of a different charger works good, as long as the charge capacity output is 1 Ampere or more.
The turbo charger of Motorola can do a 'warming up' of the battery, because the charger uses in turbo mode 9 or 12 Volt. But only when the battery is charged <78%.
I use the M-charger hardly. I prefer wireless charging.

cool thanks ! which wireless charger are you using ? i have always been interested in those wireless thingies, how exactly do they work though .. ?
you charge thos pad like thingies up and then they can give your phone juice by simply placing your phone sitting onto it ,
question is how long does it take to charge it from lets say 40% to 100% , does it take several hours ? or more?

1. Wireless charging works with every cheap QI-pad. Look at eBay.
2. Same as standard. Several hours. A charger connected to a QI-pad needs to have a capacity of at least 1A.
TIP - Use a flat type QI-pad for a Nexus 6. The first time using a QI-pad you need to find the best position. When that's done place a small marker on the pad,

No they did not, it's not kernel related but the charging board and battery that are not compatible.
Thanks for the info.
Why so obsessed to quick charge?
It's not much faster than the regular charge.
Quick charge enabled phone charge the 3000mah battery in 1.5hours... If the battery is larger 4000mah, it will takes approximately 2 hours to charge.
RN4 regular charge is about 2 hours 15mins... Its just 15 minutes longer and if we usually charge it overnight, its nothing difference... you want to take the unknown risk?

Yes!
We do all sort of things with our devices that are outside of "safe use". We overclock and overvolt them, flash stuff that could potentially brick them, etc.
As to why? I wouldn't charge the device from 0-100 with QC enabled but i sure as hell would like to charge it for 5 min and get 20-30%
If QC could be enabled it has to be tested sure, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea with an ambient T of 30C maybe the cut of point would be 60% or 20min. But yes I would like to test it.
Peace

When it comes to play the electricity, the risk isn't your phone brick but bomb...
And it will nowhere near 20-30% in 5 minutes.
LG G5 that have QC 3.0 enabled charge around 10% in 5 minutes. its with 2800mah battery, faster usb-c, etc...
What's the battery charging rate with a stock charger? My stock charger gives 1300mah at 70% and a Blitzwolf QC 3.0 gives 1700mah at 70%.

Well sure it won't be for every one, there is a real risk of the battery catching fire (bomb is a bit hyperbolic) . That's why IF it's possible people willing to take the risk have to test it out. Some might think it's worth the risk though.
My admittedly rusty back of the napkin math says it should be theoreticly possible to get 20% With 20V and 3.6A in less than 7 min.

Well my sister has a zen 2 too... It's not quick charge..
Quick charge is qualcomm tech, zen 2 have intel on it.
And zen2 just have 3000mah battery on it, mido is 4000mah capacity... It's 25% larger. Its totally different...
Before using mido, I was using mi5s that have QC 3.0, with legit 3.0 charger and usb-c, its no way 60-70% in 30 minutes.
Well I have 2 mido, come with 2 different stock charger. One is RN4 global, with EU plug... Yes it will need about 3 hours to charge. One is RN4x, come with chinese charger. It need 2.5 hours to top... 2 hours will get you from 10 to anywhere between 10-90+%, the last 10% is very slow...
Will provide logs later, because I've fully charged my phone this morning and still have 78% left this afternoon.
I've measured this morning charge... Start from 17% to 90% takes 100 minutes.
Note 4 takes less than 2 hours for full charge 10-100%. Just don't use the phone while charging.

yes that was a disappointment to me too... Previous phone was a Motorola Nexus 6 with fast charge, it was charging from 0 to 80% in like 30mn :-/
Will miss that. This said 8X battery really hold for 2 days, so just not forgetting to put it in charge one night every two and problem solved.
Well will using a 2.4A fast charger destroy the battery ?
For me charging:
- from 10% to 80% - 1h 5min..
- from 10% to 100% - 1h 59m..
Checked it by AccuBattery app.
I use 5V 2A/9V 2A oryginal charger. Only that my phone has 5000 mAh of capacity, not 3750 mAh. My phone Honor 8X Max support fast charge, Honor 8X does not support fast charge.

I think I have a problem with fast charging.
Yesterday while the phone was charging, electricity in my house was shutted down. When it came back, I can see than now, I charge 1 % on 35 seconds, instead of 20 sec before.
Could it have the battery damaged ? I doubt so, buty it's strange.

What's your thoughts about this situation ?

Same thing here, so I don't charge more than 40 - 45% at a time.
If my battery is below 50%, I charge in 2 times with a 10 min pause.
Doing sop, you don't reach hoptter than 33 degrees instead of 38+
I can't seem to get a decent standard charging from 5V 2A chargers or Powerbanks, even a QC3 Powerbank only delivers 0,9-1A.
I only get about 900mA according to the Ampere-App. {On the contrary, I even get 1,8A from the original wall plug at 80% SoC).

Same here. I used a 9V 2A charger, and it won't go more than 1100mA.
I wonder if this is a detection error from the apps. I think they don't consider the dual battery layout and only display half of the true value.
The error that the app "charger tester" shows let's me think this or does support my theory.
All apps seem to not be able to show the correct current flow because of the dual-batteries.
I found the engingeering mode and can confirm that the phone charges with 5V 2A on dumb chargers.
And also supports QC 18W with 9V 2A
As well as the Oneplus 20W Dash charger with 5V 4A.

Super VOOC (and also VOOC) have their own protocol of charging mechanism. It's not the same with other quick charge method like Quick Charge 3.0.
You will not have VOOC charging if you are not using right adapter and right cable. You try use Super VOOC charge with other USB cable, VOOC charging will not work.
So when you using other adapter or cable, you'll got standard 5V charging max 2A.
