Hi guys, I've found a custom rom that seems to work for our XA ultra. I'm using an other phones rom as base.
I don't want to steal someone elses credits and/or work.
I haven't spoken with the author and I'm not aware of all the rules. I fell of the motorcycle when a dog tried to attack me so my hands(palms) are wounded. Feel free to help me on this journey. Finally no more sickening bloated sony rom.

No clue I contacted the author of the rom if it is okay to link his rom in this thread, will ask him if he replies. Not sure if it is an aosp or 7.0 modified to look like one.
I'm just happy we found a non sony rom to work as expected with our phone with minor issues. I did not port the rom just flashed system.img and it seemed to work. No major crashes overheating or anything like that. I know we can replace some files like camera libs so charger to get stuff working properly and maybe fix the settings crash when trying to open about phone with logcat? I know most fixes are listed in porting guide topics so hopefully it will be a piece of cake.
I prefer slim roms over any sony roms. TBH i debloated stock 6.0 rom but the phone was overheating and minor issues so I tried some other roms, i removed the backplate of my phone so I can test and remove thr battery cable to quickly reboot when it's stuck or looping. I have no problem with it since my screen broke I also took twrp backups incase it's needed. The sony threads are just too empty

As said by @Tahsin88 he have forwarded sources code links to me, very big thanks to him :good:. Until now I worked with Elephone P9000 sources code as base and it was good on Marshmallow but for Nougat it uses a lot of files from MM and it's not good. New sources are even better to build Nougat based roms, I have to port them to XA and start building. It will takes some time but it's on the good way

I worked on dt2w P9000 is not good because needed files are already compiled, I need original .c and .h but they are already compiled in .o so it's like some already chewed food and I can't port the patch from it. I tried with an other patch but it doesn't work because some kernel definitions are different in the code and I'm not good enough to correct this. I think that if I can find the same thing in a 3.18 kernel it will works.
Good news for you, all this work and rom building are made on a F3211 device Now I have this one and a F3112 (XA), I work on it because the XA Ultra community thanked me more than the XA community for my work on Nougat so for me it's normal to work on XAU first and later on XA

So, I guess it will be harder to succeed. Anyway it's not the end of the world, we may not have dt2w but we will have a working custom rom which is better

Hello everyone,
First of all, I'd like to thank you all for the help you've already given me (unknowingly). I have been using this forum a lot the past few days, as well as checking out multiple YouTube videos. These all helped me out tremendously in the adventure I undertook in order to boost the performance of my phone.
I've already encountered numerous issues with my phone in the process and like most beginners, I've also had a few moments where I thought "Okay, it finally happened - it's dead". However, I somehow managed to revive it time after time. Don't worry though - this is not a thread where I claim my phone to be bricked. But I do have a few questions which most of you have probably already answered here and there. If that's the case, I truly apologize. Please know that I tried hard to find all the answers myself, but that I have reached a dead end.
-----
Yesterday, I finally installed CM 10 on my Xperia U. Why? Because I did not quite like the Sony UI and my phone was seriously under-performing battery-wise. Next to that, I really seemed to like the stock android interface (at least from afar). Hence, I downloaded the FXP CM10 from the official FXP website (cm-10-20131224-FXP-kumquat.zip). I must say that the functionality of this ROM is way better than Sony's original UI. The options you have for setting up the device, the way you can respond to incoming messages (read, quick reply, ...), the widget for messaging, etc. It would've been perfect even, if not for these issues:
1. The camera is inverted. Very strange, as I read that people were complaining about the time it takes to start up the camera app, but not that the camera was inverted. I thought that that issue was fixed, but apparently not.
2. I cannot seem to change the layout of the keyboard - an issue with which I am willing to live.
3. I can't add a corporate account. When I set up my mail account, it works like a charm. However, when I want to link an account to import my contacts, it claims that it can't connect to the server. On the internet I found out that you have to set the server to m.google.com - but then it says I don't have permission to sync with this server. I do not have Gapps (Google Apps) installed, could that be the reason?
4. Yesterday, my phone didn't want to unlock on two occasions - it just didn't respond. However, today I haven't had any issues so no problem for me.
Now maybe all of this can be fixed rapidly. You see, before I installed CM 10, I actually wanted to install the FXP 216 CM 9. According to Mark Sohan (YouTube account), this was the most stable ROM for an Xperia U. However, I can't seem to get my hands on it. I can't find it on the FXP site either (no longer supported?).
So my first question would be: Where can I download CM9 Kumquat (FXP 216)?
My second question would be: is it possible to fix issue 1 and 3? If so, how?
And if you would no longer advice CM 9, which one would you advice? Where can I find a (stock) ROM which works perfectly well with my Xperia U? Please note that I am looking for a stable (FXP) ROM, not necessarily the most recent one. As long as it's stable and offers the same functionality as CM 10, I'd be more than happy!
Information about the installation, might be useful:
I flashed the Sony stock ROM (.54)
In fastboot mode, I installed the boot.img from the Kumquat file using Flashtool.
Booted the phone, went in CWM and cleared the data/cache/something else - forgot name - might have also done a factory reset and then installed the zip file from the "SD card".
My phone is rooted, unlocked and has CWM.
Thank you all a lot in advance. Hopefully these issues can be solved, so that I can fully enjoy this ROM.
Kind regards,
Simen

FXP 216 is not found, according to this statement, focused on improving everything in CM 9
This build is nearly complete and should make it into the 9.0 final release on time.

from what I've read FXP 10 has several errors, and there has been no development on that, it is best that you move to another ROM, but you have to open your mind and not only we want FXP, because there are good ROM Developer.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your answer.
The first link you refer to, is one that I already knew. The links go to the FXP download page and the one for CM 9 Kumquat is not available.
I had just found that link for the camera fix myself as well and it worked. That's great. However, to me, the biggest issue is °3.
Can you tell me if none of my issues exist in the ROM that you recommend? If so, I'll install it straight away!
Thanks again!
Kind regards,
Simen

Old post( made on 18th July 2015)
Thanks a lot! any idea if/when our device will get its own forum on xda? What about a codename, like redmi 1s is known as Armani. And do you plan on making this cm11 as official by submitting it to them?
Edit(8-8-2015)
Okay I'm editing this useless post and adding some info to make it useful because a lot of people are gonna be seeing it, since it's on the first page.
I flashed this rom about a week ago and this is the most stable rom for this device. It is pure and simple Cyanogenmod. No unneeded extra bloated features gotten through hacking and what not. Nope. Simple and pure cyanogenmod. And that's why it runs smooth as butter. Let's talk point wise about some things.
1) Battery- For me, the most important thing about a phone is its battery life. If it is plugged in half the time, what's the use. A mobile is supposed to be mobile. This rom has great battery life. It gives a screen on time of 7 hours. Read that again. Not overall time. Just the screen on time of 7 hours. Over all time can easily go upto 3 days if you use it for 2 hours every day. I'm a heavy user though and it lasts me a minimum of 7 hours. This is as good as the stock Miui rom and the developer has done this without the kernel sources, so thumbs up to him. Be sure to thank him by pressing the thanks button.
2) Ram - It's a 1GB ram phone. At least that's what I'm using. So dont expect the performance of a flagship from it. If you use greenify and hibernate all useless apps, you wont face a single lag or stutter. I always have around 300-350 mb ram free after installing around 120 apps. All of them are greenified, except whatsapp, hike, alarm clock, nova launcher and swiftkey. I'm a greenify freak. Whatever you do, be sure to greenify facebook and chrome because they hog a lot of ram.
3) Sound/Music - I was very surprised by the music quality that this rom provides. It's loud and clear as the Miui rom. To get such clarity and quality in an early build of a custom rom and that too without kernel sources is a miracle. Kudos to the dev.
4) Camera - Now we are talking. :victory: Everyone is concerned about the camera. Well the stock camera is not good and it doesnt take pictures as good as the Miui rom camera. But not to worry, go to page 4 or 5 of this thread and you'll find the apk of cyanogen camera linked there. Download it and install it normally. It works quite good. It also has the option of time lapse video which is quite nice. But some of you might not like even that camera. So search for "Miui camera port for cyanogenmod" and you should find a miui forum link where the zip file is present. Download the file and flash it via recovery and voila! you'll have that awesome camera back again. PS - It's not the miui 6 camera, its miui v5 camera. PPS - It was originally intended for Redmi 1s but it works very good on our device. The name of the file is MIUICamera44-4.zip and its size is 2.2 mb.
That's it people. This is an awesome rom and i havent faced any bugs till now. I cant even imagine using that horrible miui 6. Xiaomi makes great hardware but poor software. Installing cm11 makes our device high on steroids. :highfive: Enjoy the rom. I will update the post later if i feel like adding some more info.
Dont forget to thank the developer for his hardwork by pressing the thanks button. Thanks me too, if i helped you.

HM201481x is the actual codename of the device.
I've just released a new build with a fix for proximity (for those who had issues with it before).
Good to finally see this rom here in xda, thank you so much for your work.BTW on your latest build and i can confirm that the proximity now works perfectly.

Yep, and due to this proliferation of codenames... it will be a mess understand which ROM is for which Redmi 2.
As an example: is this ROM for HM2014813? or just 11 (which is the most common one?)?
Can we share the best practice over at miui.com forum by stating in the title the code of the device the ROM is made for?
For the people out there:
- Device code is written on the phone, below the battery slot
- 2014811 is the 1GB RAM model
- 2014813 is the 2GB RAM model
Thanks!!!

That isn't true actually. 2014813 is just 2014811 with different bands. 2GB models have another codename altogether (either that or they have the same codename). Anyway, my ROM works on all Redmi 2 variants, except that it will change your model to 2014811 once flashed.
Thanks. Power-off Alarm still has not been solved yet. Looking forward to your next version.

I'm looking for a new phone, and the Redmi 2 made it to my shortlist, but I would like CM on it. When I buy one, it will be a 2GB HM2014813 (they are actually advertised with this number) because of the bands supported.
When you say this ROM will change the model to 2014811, do you mean it just changes the modelnumber in the software, or does it also change the supported bands to the ones of the 2014811?
Also: are there any known non-working parts like in other ROM's?
Thanks!

When you say this ROM will change the model to 2014811, do you mean it just changes the modelnumber in the software, or does it also change the supported bands to the ones of the 2014811?
Also: are there any known non-working parts like in other ROM's?
Thanks!

The ROM only changes the model number. Your phone still acts like a HM2014813.
The ROM is pretty much bug-free; I have been using it as my daily driver since the first release.
Hi, does this ROM works on Redmi 2 Enhanced (2GB ram,16GB internal) version?

Hi,
I am learning to build android ROM and trying to build CM-11.0 for Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus (msm8610) a.k.a Phicomm C230WJA. In the last three months after lots of efforts I progressed up to getting working kernel and going past the boot animation.
Now, I am facing the following problems when running the ROM on actual device. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I am building it from source using CAF kernel, display and media.
1. After flashing, first boot gets past boot animation and only Top status bar appears. No launcher, no icons, no wallpaper nothing only Cyanogenmod's debugging icon, battery icon shows up, rest of the screen remains blank.
2. Second boot (reboot) does not get past boot animation.
3. When screen locks itself, it gets totally white. This also happens when phone is powered off and charger plugged in. I mean screen turn off issue.
4. Lock screen appears as it should be with background image and few icons etc.
Please let me know if you require anything related to above device.
Regards,
SDhi
SOLVED
Thanks.
I resolved all issues by myself.
1. Somehow CM-11.0 forced me to include (not inherit) vendor/cm/config/common_full_phone.mk file to build all CM apps.
2. White screen issue was related to Backlight. Made modification to kernel and problem has been resolved.

Suthar,
It is still work in progress. I am working hard to make stable kernel. This is an essential foundation part.

Yes, an alpha version of CM-11.0 but I am not satisfied with the voice coming out specifically from earpiece during call. I can not understand what the person at other end is saying. He/She can hear me loud and clear. It appears there is some bug in CM-11.0 framework with dual sim phone.
To till date I have tried the followings
1. CM-11.0 voice call quality issue with earpiece only. Other things works fine except GPS.
2. CAF-4.4.4 GPS module gives kernel panic and crashes. Stock Proprietary blobs are not compatible.
3. Omnirom-4.4 does not support dual sim. Fastest ROM among the others. Trying to port dual sim support in Omni-4.4 chances of success is 1% or 2%.
4. CM-12.1 incompatible stock RIL Proprietary blobs. Same IMEI assigns to both SIM slots and SIM does not get detected.
5. Omnirom-5.1 same as CM-12.1
6. CM-13.0 build does not even start gives /.txt, /5.txt or /6.txt error and stops. CM-13.0 major bug.
7. Omnirom-6.1 unknown reason gives Kernel Panic and crashes.
Currently, giving a try to CAF-4.4.2. Let's hope for the best. I have already invested lot of time (days, nights, weeks and months) but the outcome is only failures but I have not given up. There is still hope remaining inside me.
Regards,
SDhi
Thanks a lot for that. I would like to try that one. Have you posted that on the forum ?

Have you downloaded ?
In-Call audio issue has been fixed but I would require some time to polish the ROM before beta release.
CM-11.0 Unofficial ROM for Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus Beta version released.

Hello Folks,
I'm planning to support the Mi 9 with XASP and i just need the Camera Media Profiles Config File from a AOSP based ROM of Your Device. Could anyone pull it and upload it here for Me!?
Should be in /system/vendor/etc and/or /system/etc...
I'm also searching for a Maintainer for XASP. If someone is interested just PM Me and i'll share the Details with You (You just need to repack/upload from GitHub using a Windows PC or Android Phone once the Month)
Hi, you can find the dump of stock ROM here: https://github.com/TadiT7/xiaomi_cepheus_dump/
Not sure if it changes, but at the moment I'm running GSI AOSP so if you need a dump of the profiles I can upload this one too.

Stock is using media_profiles_vendor.xml, not sure if a GSI loads the same File since there are 3 of them. I will try around, thanks for sharing!

I suggest you to take a look here at "video recording" section:

I'm not sure but maybe it can help you out

Looks like i have to use and edit all of them. Thinks i want to do are:
-4K Front Camera Video recording
-Higher default Picture Quality by less compression
-Higher default Mem Cap for Picture Processing
-Higher Bitrates for Audio and Video Profiles
-Higher default FPS Rates on Video Recording
And maybe more if i find something interesting... The Profile from Tadi is btw. a awesome Thing for Me. I always had to download full System for a few Files. That makes everything more easy. Thanks again for sharing!
As reading your requirements this will work with PHHs Treble AOSP 9.0 ROM ?
The project sounds interesting, also it mentions that it comes with Magisk, which Magisk Version is included?

PHH Treble AOSP 9 (Vanilla ARM64, NoSU) should be the best Choice
Magisk will come in Stable and Beta (18.1 and 19 right now). Does the Mi 9 has Orange Fox or at least TWRP with working AROMA Support? I have seen Problems with AROMA on the Mi 8 while the Poco F1 can flash the Patch fine (Same Specs and Systems can be used across them). I changed back to AROMA Installers since Magisk Modules are forcing restrictions to the Patch such as Device Security Enhancements and Setup Wizard edits. You can follow Me on GitHub to see what's actually going on.
BR
Can't wait for this! If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Hi everyone, i have been trying lately to improve my xperia x roms and tried a few of them but none seemed to work properly, sometimes random crashing or battery not charging ...
i was hoping you could help me chose a stable rom for everyday use and gaming (mostly emulation).
thank you in advance !!
I only tried "Unofficial LineageOS 16.0 for Xperia X" and "Unofficial AOSP9r46[X-X Dualsim-X Compact]". AOSP has less issues thanks to more modern kernel/drivers & you can use GCam, but of course it lacks all the comfortable things any LineageOS ROM comes with. The LineageOS has a black screen issue which occurs relatively seldom, but still regularly. It happens when you open an app, most often when switching fast between apps like when sharing a file with an app. You then have to kill that app which has gone black, but very seldom you need to reboot since the black screen is so that you even can't see the Android touchscreen buttons anymore to click back/previous app/homescreen.
I you install AOSP make sure to install the version you'll find deep in the thread and the updated boot.img. The folders on my harddrive are named "20200422 build with 4.9.219 kernel update" and "Updated boot.img with 4.9.230 kernel" which contain the files "AOSP-9-F5121-20200422-4.9.219brcmfmac.zip" and "20201003-aosp9-bootimage-4.9.230-f5121.zip" respectively and I noted down the following in a txt-file:
Edit : new boot.img with 4.9.230 kernel should be flashed instead of the one in full ROM archive, should fix some of the intempestive reboots (CPU frequency fix).
Only quickly tested on Kugo. Have the old boot.img at hand in case of problem.

TWRP I'm using is TWRP v3.3.1 for Xperia X (twrp-3.3.1-0-suzu.img).
Btw I never had charging issues, so make sure it's not a dirt/dust or hardware issue (worn out battery can also cause stability issues.
LineageOS 16 is the most stable non-stock rom
