Honor 5x probably updated with wrong ROM.... - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

I have two honor 5x phones, both were on Android 5.1 initially. I downloaded the 6.0 update package from hihonor.com but i did not notice that there were two versions of the B320 update, one with version C675B320 and another with C675B320CUSTC675D002. One of my device was D001 and other one was D002.
Unaware of custom version, i ended up installing the C675B320 update (which i think is D001) on the D002 device. Now the update has worked fine. The device showed me two more updates which again worked fine and it is currently on B360. However, It does not show any more updates. I was expecting B370 and than B381.
Can someone please help and let me know if it really is a problem to install D001 update on D002 device? Is this the reson why my device won't show updates any further? If yes how can I revert back? Can I download B320D002 and do a force update, will it work?
Please help, its urgent........

I am from Pakistan myself and got OTA update about a month ago. What's your model?
Mine is PLK-L01.
Update notifications donĀ“t come at the same time for every country or even every user in the same country.
1- Don't stress out, just wait. Or even better, wait for the first feedbacks from other users about the update. Some are not good enough, i.e. solve some problems while fixing others.
2- Make sure you have HiCare updated. This can be done inside the app itself. Check the "early adopters" section inside the app.
3- Make sure you make a backup full relevant data with Huawei Backup app, into external USB drive (OTG) or sdcard.
4- After update, factory reset, restore from backup and phone is as it was before but updated.

Help with Nougat Beta on Huawei P9 Lite

Hi, all!
This is my very first post. Not even sure if there's a solution to this, tried searching but probably my keywords didn't exactly hit it.
I have a Huawei P9 Lite. I just received the OTA update for Nougat Beta with build number VNS-L31C636B331. My previous build was VNS-L31C636B170. I received the OTA update after I registered to become a beta tester. The installation was successful, things went running smoothly until I noticed my VPN app was closing when my phone is locked (even when I had it set to run after screen-lock). It got so annoying until I decided to reformat my phone. Things are running fine again, but some system or stock Huawei apps are missing, like calendar, clock, and calculator, to name a few.
Is there a way to download and reinstall these apps? And if so, are the downloadable apps already designed for Nougat on Huawei? Or are they from Marshmallow?
If there is no way to download stock apps, can I ask help to downgrade to Marshmallow? I'm planning to downgrade, and then tick back the Nougat update again from settings.
Thank you so much, guys!

Android official OTA packages from other sites safe or not.

Hi , I had a motorola g5s plus with android 7.1 for a long time , just before the official release of android 8.1 for the device in my country i downloaded a rom from a youtube link for my device it was titled as official rom .( it said it was a rom from country which the offical updates were released few days before in my country).
Instructions to install the rom were fairly simple , i just had to grant the updater the permission to access storage in my phone then paste the rom into the internal storage of my device and then normally go check in the updater of my device and it showed updates available .
so i did everything, updates were installed normally and never actually experienced any bug whatsoever . Also i regularly got security updates from lenovo/motorola through OTA.
FYI - i never rooted or unlocked my device's bootloader it was completely stock device .
My question is are there chances that the rom i installed from an unknown source might be hampered? or cracked in someway it is completely safe to use my phone?
this may be a silly question , i am sorry if it is but i really know very less about these things , please guide me. thank you in advanced.
@Dante18 Give the Link to the YouTube video.
@lucki1000
i can't actually find that video on youtube . i was just wondering if anyone ever tried to hamper or crack official OTA package would it still Install on a completely Stock device and still get regular updates as in form of OTA from Lenovo/Motorola?

Okay so I know the problem with this update.
This update is for users who are currently still on android 9 as this update is android 9 march security patch update. That's why us android 10 users can't install it.
For both EU and global versions the march update for android 9 was released today.
They probably should have done it so as we wouldn't see the update but they pushed the update for all devices not like android 10 where only some people got it.
So you guys can just ignore this update until android 10 is fully released
Yes I'm also facing the same problem

Check some times mannually for updates and notification will go away
This phone is just an astonishing demonstration of xiaomi incompetence...
I have had a few xiaomi phones in the past and the only complain i had was that the updates were late(ish). But i never imagined that something like this would ever happend.
Not even the fingerprint sensor is usable...

MediaPad M5 Pro - How can I update to Android 9/10?

Hello,
I have a MatePad M5 Pro that is stuck on Android 8.
Model: CMR-W19
I don't care if it's official ROM or custom ROM. I would like to maintain the WidevineL1 and mpen and keyboard support.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Try downloading HiSense software onto a PC, then connect your Mediapad to the PC and it will check for updates, even if checking for updates on your Mediapad itself doesn't find any.
This worked for mine. I was stuck on 8 too, until HiSense found an update and did the update on my Mediapad, then the Mediapad was able to find further incremental updates itself.

You could try downloading and sideloading.
All updates are here;

Any idea which to use? There are a lot of different Android 9 builds.
And how do I sideload on this device? Sorry if that's a noob question. haven't had to do this for a number of years.
When you click on a version to download, it gives you full instructions on how to install.
You are best going up in stages.
Find the same version that you have currently installed, then download the next version number up.
They're all for the same device, but that is a list of every update that's been released.
So install the next version up from yours, then try searching for the next update manually on your device to see if it then triggers it to keep updating itself. If need, just keep running the updates by SD card method.

Thanks! Im guessing I just can't install the latest update first?
I'm not sure.
Mine did incremental (about 6 in total), even though the latest one was newest.
To be sure, you're best off going up in order.
Because it's fully stock and you're doing in the correct way, it will scan first, so any issues and it won't install - so nothing to lose.
Hi all,
Had a read through this thread to see if there was any chance of an Android Update for my device but from the answers given, I can't seem to find anything.
I'm using an M5 Pro 10.8 (CMR-L09 - Cellular) on 8.0.0.203 and the Huawei Updater site doesn't seem to have anything above this for my model.
If I was to look at installing an OTA for the likes of the CMR-W19, would this harm my device at all?
They're both Cellular, both 10.8". Only thing I can really see different is that they are 64GB and I'm 32GB.
Also, as a side question, I don't have a PC, what's the best way to download and install an update using the device itself?
I look forward to a reply!

In regards to the part of if it would be bad..
CMR-W19 is not an LTE model. So if you do successfully flash the ROM, not sure if you would have issues with LTE.
Ahhh, glad I checked! Thanks for the reply!

Would I use the OTA-MF or FULLOTA-MF?
CMR-AL19 (m5 Pro 64gb LTE) here. I'm on 8.0.0.199 Android 8.0 With July 19 Security patches. No Update available. Huawei support told me there is no newer version available for this Model.... I'm abit mad coz it's even the 'pro' Model..
