I have to answer yes to this, but after a return to LG via my ebay seller (with the phone being under a year old) within the last month, I had the phone come back in working condition.
I've since upgraded to the latest official supported version of the OS, (7.0) (V30b-TWN-XX) and now... the back camera doesn't work.
Has anyone had this happen yet? It is kind of mentioned here though. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73107988&postcount=6
I went crazy thinking that the battery had broken it, that I went and bought a new camera module.
I'm thinking it's software related and that they forgot to include the camera module driver in the OS build. I could be wrong...
But the other frustrating thing is that now the phone screams that the battery is not an LG battery - which it certainly is (still the original) when I restart the phone.
I love this phone, but the issues are driving me crazy that I'm even considering going to the dark side.
Ta.

All microphones KIA

So for about 6 months my phone worked fine in all ways. Then I broke the screen and had it replaced (for more than I could have sold the phone for...). Then a few months ago (about 9 months after buying) my regular call microphone stopped working. Oh well. I could still call on speakerphone because I guess it used a different microphone. Except now that microphone is dead too. My phone is now a small tablet incapable of calling.
Different roms, clean flashes, stock, aosp, etc. Nothing changed it. I think it's a hardware issue.
Now that I got my screen replaced is there any chance that LG will fix it for me if I can make it appear stock, or will they know and demand I pay some ridiculous price to get it back? At this point I guess I might as well send it in and try because my only other option is to use an old phone or maybe waste half of my net worth on an unlocked M8. Still, I'd like to have some input on what you all would do.

Or you could have a go at replacing both microphones its not to tricky there are many tutorials on you tube.
I'm being forced to use a moto x until I get another upgrade. This phone has slowly degraded into barely being useful as every phone I've ever had has. HTC is the only android brand left for me to try. I hope the m9 is amazing.

The phone itself is fine. Willing to bet something went wrong during the time either:
When the screen was damaged or
During the repair process.
That's probably what LG is going to say if you try to ask them to repair damage they're not responsible for.
I would replace the Mic and speaker as Melt1down suggested and go from there.
The phone is not fine. Every phone I've ever had has had this problem. It slowly gets worse and worse and nothing changes it. And I didn't drop my phone, so don't assume things you don't know.

I know there is a fix,,, just cannot find it!

I have a refurb Lg G Flex 2 , which I love! Lg sent it to me as part of BBB settlement. NOT warranteed as I sent them a broken one and they refused to warranty it, so who knows what they did with MY phone, but they sent me another one, stating it was mine... But none of that matters. Camera works for a couple shots, then camera not found or cannot connect to camera . Often front facing option is gone as well. Same with Snap chat or any other camera i install. Have taken out SD card, works for a few minutes,
cleared cache, same thing,
forced stop- same,
restarted,
hard reset,
Everything I have found online I have done.
Except dropping it which I think is a bit stupid! I have removed back , opened and taken it apart- all looks secure and ok.
As it does come on and work fine for a while after each "fix" I would like to assume the it is software related, not hardware. I found in only one place someone mention the latest update caused this issue, but have found NOTHING more on it.
android version 5.1.1 software version H95012d.
I do have a new Moto g 4 plus i can use, but I love my flex! Really hoping someone can help me! Thanks
The issue with that device is well known. They put the cpu too close to the camera modual and it over heats the camera making it not be detected.
So
There isn't anything I can do is what you are saying?

No. Does not appear so.
Only if u were already rooted/unlocked/ with TWRP and flashed the Update.zip stock rom already posted. Then u can flash Magisk and root works fine.
Upgrading via OTA or LG Official restore tool (Bridge) re-locks down everything as its reflashing it to pure stock.
I would assume that current means/exploits have not worked on this new version.
The V10 is largely abandoned...(cause V20 been out a while now and soon to the come the V30.
Far as I can tell, only 1 maybe 2 people working on this phone in their spare time....soo....Don't hold your breath.
If a rooted device is very important to you, other than waiting, one could buy a used V10 (or V20) that hasn't been updated off Swappa for pretty cheap. Or, sometimes folks sell already modded/rooted devices. (thats how i got both my V10's).

That's disappointing. I love this phone but don't feel the need to upgrade to v20. Maybe the v30 when it comes out. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me. I've never seen a phone abandoned so quickly ?? now I'm thinking I should go back to Samsung maybe note 8

Camera can't focus G5 SE

Hello guys i have this very weird issue and i dont know when exactly it first occured and what the reason is. Basically both autofocus and manual focus of the rear camera(not the wide angle one) arent working, the image just remains slightly blurred. It attempts to refocus but to no avail. The only thing that i could think about is the latest software update i installed some weeks ago. Havent done factory reset since i bought it 7 months ago, could it possibly be a software bug or ahould i procceed with the warranty, thanks in advance
The problem isn't software... Unfortunately the G5 was plagued with poor camera hardware. I just replaced mine last night with a $20 camera from eBay. It took less than 10 mins to do. It's a very simple replacement process. There are plenty of videos showing how to do it as well. Good luck!

Hi. Could you post the link of the module you bought? There are 3rd party camera modules, but I don't know if they are comparable to the factory one. Thanks.

Hey I am having the same issue. Autofocus does not work on the primary camera. Fortunately, I am getting a new camera module in under $ 10 here in pakistan. My LG g5 is Korean variant ( LG U+) and the camera replacement available is of (H830) model. so I wanted to ask like can I replace my faulty camera with this other variant's camera?

Video focus hunting / Camera keeps refocusing while filming

Hello,
My wife's been having a Honor 10 (COL-L29) for a little over half a year. Everything fine except the camera is constantly hunting for focus. Every few seconds it is refocusing by moving the lens from close-up to infinite and back to correct focus. I've tried it with the latest camera included in software v9.1.0.326 but also with a random 3rd party app. You can clearly hear the focusing camera elements moving.
The most annoying part is during video recording. And since we have a 7 month old baby, she's filming him a lot.
I've tried searching online but nobody seems to have complained about something similar until now.
My OnePlus 5 doesn't do the same thing in the same environment, so I cannot blame some colors, textures or similar.
Will also try posting on honor/Huawei forums in a moment.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
yeah, I got that problem too..... a bit annoying. Maybe I did not realize, but as far as I remember.....it was not happened on EMUI 8.1. The problem starts after updating to EMUI 9.
Yeah I've had this to after the last software upgrade.
I've been chatting with a support rep today.
Interestingly, she talked like she was aware of the problem (she immediately recognised what I was thinking about) and she asked me when did the problem appeared (like it was introduced by an update).
Clearing the camera's and the phone's cache didn't help. I was thinking of checking out if another phone has the same issue (if I can still find one on display).
Otherwise the rep advised me to go to a service center or contact the seller.

Huawei has released a patch pack that seems to solve this problem for Honor 10 in China (COL-AL00 COL-AL10 COL-TL00 COL-TL10). I guess the oversea version is on it's way
Im in the UK and I'm already on .326
I have the same problem and running .326 version .
Glad that i am not the only one.
I found out that if after u ar starting a video and manually do a focus with one finger it stops hunting focusing after.
I first discovered the problem after upgrading to emui 9.1.
Hope this will help others!
I was to the service center some 4-5 days ago. The guy there took a look at the phone, I showed him the issue and he acknowledged it. He ordered a new camera module, a mainboard and something else (I didn't understood what he said): I'm waiting for a call from the service center for the actual parts replacement.
So after what u said then this is a hardware problem not a software problem and i should find the nearest shop and have look!
I'm afraid that it's 400 km from me the neareast shop.
I don't know what it is. I am checking for a new software version on a daily basis (until I'm called that the parts arrived).
I only reported back what the dude from the official service center told me.

please don't forget to let us know how it goes with the new hardware....
So yesterday afternoon got the parts exchanged: mainboard, cameras & back plate. Apparently the back plate cannot be glued back upon removal. The whole thing took some 3.5 hours.
Weirdly the mainboard came with some version 8.1.0.1xx EMUI. I don't know if it was preinstalled of the service tech guy flashed after assembling the phone.
The problem is gone but I cannot say for sure if it is the old software or the new hardware.
When trying to update the software (before restoring with HiSuite) I only got a small version bump (still 8.1.0.1xx). HiSuite was proposing me an update but didn't take it. I want to film something, update, film the same again all while the phone is on a tripod pointing exactly at the same scene.

I just got a new Honor 10, a week ago. I made all the EMUI updates before testing the camera. I noticed the horrible focus in and out problem, and I was prepared to send it back to the seller. After I searched a bit, I found this thread and I realized it may not be a hardware problem, but a software problem. I'm now downgrading to EMUI 9.0 and hooping the HiSuite allows me to downgrade later to 8.1 to test if the problem disappears. BTW, the post processing of the photos in low light is also horrible, especially with people's faces. But I want to keep the phone because of the size, price and specs.
Do you have any more information about your case? Had you the opportunity to do the tests with 9.1?
I haven't update it yet. My wife keeps on postponing it.
Right now it is on 8.1.0.104 and it wants to install 8.1.0.151.
The problem seems to be almost gone, except for critical situations (carpet with high contrast pattern), but even then it is barely noticeable.
It will stay on this software for the time being...

I have an update on my side. I downgraded to 9.0 and I still had the problem. But when I downgraded to 8.1 the problem simply disappeared! I'm using the build ending in 151, so I think you can upgrade to that version with no problem. If you upgrade to 9.0 and the problem continues, just make a backup before upgrade, and then you can downgrade to 8.1 again and restore with HiSuite (very simple and fast do downgrade).
When you have the problem, you can "fix" it downgrading to 8.1 with HiSuite, but we don't know why some people have the problem, and apparently a lot of people don't have the problem at all. If your works now with 9.0 or 9.1, it probably have something to do with some hardware change in the Honor 10 production that caused the problem.
anyone tried other camera app? I'm gonna try Open Camera
I've tried some random app. I don't remember the name, but the behaviour was the same.
I've mentioned this in the initial post.
I seems that I only have de problem with 9.1 (in the 2 version available). I 'm testing 9.0 and it seems ok.

So it's a software problem after all.
