Hi all
I have a redmi 4 prada on 7.5.25 China developer.
I cannot enter edl mode, not with the regular (adb reboot edl) when the device is on connected to pc nor with fastboot mode.
It just reboots to android again, not edl mode,
Any ideas?

I have unlocked the bootloader, does that have anything to do with it?

EDL reboot might be disabled in this ROM version. Try via tespoint (got to open the phone though).
Just google redmi 4 testpoint.
Turn off the phone completely
Turn it on by pressing ALL 3 buttons at once, and try to plug the USB in fastly
POWER + Volume UP + Volume DOWN
This is how you enter EDL mode
If it doesn't work you need an EDL cable, you can also mod a regular MicroUSB into an EDL cable

after flash Fastboot Rom (Global Stable)
When i power on the device it Stops at mi verification page (see Photos)
both the sim inesrted Then also it is showing plese insert sim(may be this problem solves when I login to mi account But unable to login mi account from this error)
1)iam unable to enter edl mode from adb cmd (Usb debugging is not turned on because this error not allow to access phone)2)EDL mode from Fastboot mod(fastboot cmd) also not working. cmd shows waiting for device (all the driver all installed correctly)
3)unable to enter EDL mode from After diconnect & connecting battery connect computer with volume button pressed together
(last time i enter EDL mode From this type That time mobile is soft bricked)
bootloader Unlocking also stuck at 50% showing Couldn't verify Device this problem is from when i purchesed this mobile

If your bootloader was unlocked earlier, long press volume down + power buttons, phone will boot in fastboot. Using XiaoMiFlash tool flash global stable or dev miui fastboot rom

did you already try below tools, last time this tool help me to enter edl directly from fastboot. (softbrick in fastboot mode)

Redmi note 4 doesnt support that, i get a reboot.
tried 3 options: adb reboot edl, fastboot oem edl and hardware keys combinations with usb plugging.
My bootloader locked. Im stuck
If you are trying to unbrick, try with sp flash, it works, tested it myself. But as for edl mode, there isnt any since EDL is just for Qualcomm devices...

MTK don't have edl, to flash with locked bootloader use this tutorial http://en.miui.com/thread-371349-1-1.html

I download Global Dev 6.12.15 and MiFlash tool.
Put phone in fastboot mode (Power+Volume Up) but phone is not recognised by MiFlash Tool. Help please!
What version of miflash do you have ? By the way it will be better to flash miui rom in edl mode
Turn off the phone completely. Hold Vol+ and Vol- buttons at the same time. Then connect USB cable, you are now in EDL mode. Now you can flash ROMs with MiFlash.

You have to go to edl mode
1. Connect your phone to pc [enable debugging mode]
2. Go here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0VFYSHDV7SKbll4RG9oZTFNbVU to download adb terminal, or if you already have it just open the adb terminal, and type:
abd reboot edl
after that your phone will blinking red, thats mean your in edl mode
3. Open Mi Flasher-Browse to your ROM-click refresh-click falsh all at the bottom-and finally click flash-that's all
4. Wait until it reboot, or if you still got that blinking red notification on your phone just power up manually
I'm trying to root my 4x to enable the camera2api so I can use Google Camera. However, when I boot into fastboot mode, I get the fastboot logo for about 10 seconds, my PC can't detect it, and then it goes straight to charging mode. I have developer options turned on as well as USB debugging and OEM unlock. The Mi unlock status shows as unlocked. Any ideas how to fix this?

After running the adb command to reboot to fastboot, disconnect the usb cable from the phone for a while, try opening Mi Flash and then connect the usb cable again and refresh Mi Flash or run fastboot devices to check that the phone is detected from the PC.
That also happened to me sometimes with a Redmi Note 4 and a Moto X Play and with the described procedure I was able to begin flashing my roms

To solve this problem, you need to have proper ADB drivers on your system and have the phone detected n recognised by the system in fastboot mode. Otherwise it'll switch to charging mode.

hi there, I have a xiaomi device that only goes in fastboot mode. Putting out of fastboot results in a reboot and after that black screen.
-No way to flash with miflash because it needs your phone to be unlocked.
- i cant put the phone in edl because usb debugging needs to be on and i cant go in settings.
phone got detected by my pc when in fastboot mode

I don't see any other way, my opinion is that you should unlock it.

unlock is not possible because you need to put on usb debugging and oem unlock in developer settings but my phone dont start up.
