Now i still can't get google accounts even after changing region to Us.
Did someone try to downgrade from chinese stock rooted ics to US honeycomb?
Do you think it's risky?
I can't wait for my chinese tablet to finally become fully usable!!!

yes of course, no luck
seems the chinese version of the market HiMarket is not replaced and I don't find a trace of the moded market after reboot, even though Aio says everthing went well...
I also tried copying it myself with root ES explorer, but even that doesn't work. It seems the chinese version lacks the google service framework as well, so I copied and installed it... no luck.
There are so many difference between the chinese and US ICS, I think the only way is to flash a new fm...
or wait until 4.0.4 so that I don't risk a downgrade, unless someone already found a solution to change a rooted chinese stock ICS to a US one ?

yes that's what I'm doing, I changed the region and got the zip (signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002)
now it's stuck because I need to change vendor prop and decrease the build # I guess.
I'll try that and let you know how this works, what could go wrong anyway ?
worst case I'll end up with US ICS unrooted and will root again with the new method that worked on my chinese 4.0.3 r1a
I'm using Aio 4.0 btw, and disable hack_recovery download from sites.google because the shell could not connect, I don't know why...
I was able to download it through browser and put it locally myself anyway. all the rest if ok until the bad sku #, so vendor prop change should do the trick !
can someone tell me exactly what values to change to be able to downgrade in the prop files (vendor/build) ?
if I mess up those files, do I risk brick my tablet ?

Vendor.prop change incremental to 111104048. default aio incremental, I think. This cant brick tab But the region.zip can, tread with caution. After that AIO should a work with region changer.

Hi, I got it working by flashing back to stock kernel which you can find on the last page of this treath: [REQUIRED]*Desire X Stock recovery.IMG. I also deleted the Superuser app but don't know if it was necessary.
Once update I flashed everything back as it was with CWM and Superuser. Hope it works for you
hey
thanks for answering so fast!
I gave it a try and flashed the original recovery but update still failed.
How can I delete the superuser-app? I can't delete or uninstall it.

Use a root file manager to delete the SuperUser app, and if you want to unroot then delete the su bunaru from system/bin.

Hi there.
I root the phone Desire X - branded firmware from T-Mobile PL.
/ v. 1.14.118.1 / showed me that it is a v. 1.18.118.1 update, downloaded but can not install. Shows verification error.
I did flash the firmware to the version v. 1.14.401.1 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941250
[DEVS ONLY] Stock, rooted, deodexed ROMs.
Now the phone does not show at all that is update to version 1.18.401.1.
How do I install this update?

I had the same problem. Solution? Flash the stock recovery (for me this one worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35031493&postcount=25), and recheck for update in [Ustawienia->Informacje->Aktualizacje oprogramowania]. After installing stock recovery it updated fine (don't be scared when it reboots way too many times ). Then I reflashed CWM, rooted it again and it's business as usual.

How can I install that? Really need to downgrade
I rooted my Xperia L-LT221 with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2023756. Basically, it does this with a Flashtool:
- Flash 6.1.B.0.599_Kernel via FlashTool
- Reboot then run Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry
- Flash 6.1.1.B.1.75_Kernel via FlashTool
I have root, because Titanium Backup works.
Now I am trying to UNROOT the phone. I connected the phone to my PC and run Flashtool. Selected Root --> Unroot and I was prompted that my device was "NOT ROOTED".
How can I unroot the phone? I am trying to go back to factory state.
Model: LT22i
Android: 4.0.4
Baseband: u8500-49020908-P2H_EC01
Kernel: 3.0.8+ (stock)
Build: 6.1.1.B.1.54
Not realy clear what are you trying to do.
You can flash stock ROM and lose all settings and some data (call log, contacts, messages, settings etc.)
Or you can delete su binary and app.
Why do you want to unroot?

Basically, goes back to factory state. The phone is still on 4.0.4 and I believe the root stop ANY OTA, since I haven't received any updates for JB from Sony.
So I can flash stock ROM using FlashTool? Where can I get the stock ROM?
It only stops updates if you unlock bootloader. Yes you can upgrade with flashtool. Just google Xperia P 6.2.A.1.100 ftf

I didn't unlock the boot loader. As a matter of fact, the link to root above is ONLY for locked boot loader.
However, I never get OTA update, so something is causing this. Thus, I want to go back to factory state to make sure they're is no other surprises.

I did a factory reset (NOT FLASH ROM) on the phone, and this fix OTA thing. After factory reset, I immediately get notice that there is an update for my phone (6.2.A.0.400).

Search for the stock ROM on XDA( the same one you are using) and flash using flashtool (Search and you will find tutorials). This will unroot your phone and remove SuperSU.
If you want to keep your SMS, call logs etc, use a backup app from Google Play.

Hey thanks bro, but I restored to 4.4.4 yesterday, got the OTA.... And guess what!!!!
I am running official 5.1 on my phone now... No brick has occurred, everything is smooth.
I have never taken such a serious and risky step before in my life! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
But I can guarantee you and other fellow XDA members
Don't be afraid to install 5.1 OTA after restoring to stock 4.4.4 from 5.0.2
It actually works, since it Motorola has made it official.
Two things to note though....
The bootloader has been updated
The partition tables have been updated
The recovery is no longer the Kitkat one (as seen in 5.0.2 soaks)
Oh and BTW, if someone wants to get back to 4.4.4 for some reason, then he CAN, by flashing all the firmware files of 4.4.4 EXCEPT the bootloader and the partition. He will also get the OTA and install it fine. Just tried it tomorrow.
Peace!

I have made the backup, ready to be flashed....
Here are two things to do prior to installing
Do a backup of the previous ROM
Wipe Everything
Now install, and as soon as it completes setup, DO A FACTORY RESET (it gave bootloops, so I am requesting).
And another interesting thing, if you change the language to English US, the new Boot animation appears
I will definitely upload by tomorrow...
Thanks for the patience

Thanks to you bro
I had already made a back up just before rooting and after that I rooted, installed xposed etc.....When I got the stock recovery today I tried to restore the back up I had taken but same thing happened to me ....it didn't boot......stopped at android is starting then I forced switch off and rebooted to twrp and did a factory reset and then it booted ........
Initially it was showing the old animation (I had selected English (india) as language) but when I flashed the stock recovery , the animation changed to new one and I checked the bootanimation file is the same but I got the new one.....now when I flashed twrp again bootanimation stays as new one
Thanks for the upload again
I bet you both will back to Custom ROM again sooon, you all wasting time [emoji14]

Hi guys, first I want to apology if it has already been asked.
I'm running Android 6.0 (32.1.A.1.185) on my E5823. My phone is rooted and have Xposed installed (Hi Niantic)
I can't get rid of the notification for 32.2.A.0.224.
Should I update?
Will I loose root and Xposed? If so, how can I get rid of this annoying update notification?
Thanks a lot
You won't be able to update the official way without getting rid of the mods/root.

Uninstall Xposed framework and then you'll need to flash stock kernel using fastboot which would also remove whatever custom recovery and root you have.

Thanks. I'll do it for 7.0 I think
Hey, I was asking myself: if I install systemless root (Magisk), will I be able to OTA? (if Magisk is compatible with my phone, which I'm not totally sure)
Thanks

I wouldn't recommend it. Even if you do succeed in updating you could end up with a bricked device or just mess up your firmware and would have to do redo everything. Best is to bring it back to complete stock and then do the update.

Okay, thanks for the reply
I don't really see the problem. Just flash the latest firmware using Flashtool and then root again by using the rootkernel mod in this forum. Xposed and such aren't a problem either.
Hi
Is it possible to use Flashtool with twrp/root/xposed? Btw I think my bootloader is still unlocked.
And what should I use to root? Something like this or this?

If your bootloader is unlocked you should be able to follow both tutorials just fine.
In short:
Flash new firmware using Flashtool
Patch kernel of new firmware and flash it
Flash SuperSU and Xposed using TWRP
Enjoy life
If you need step-for-step help, just send me a PM with your instant messasing contact details. I'll help where needed.
Hi, thanks for the reply, I'll do that when I'll have more free time.
Instead of SuperSU, can I flash Magisk?
Bump
Thanks

You'll first need to downgrade to an older firmware in order to backup the TA partition. This thread describes everything very detailed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/how-to-backup-restore-ta-partition-root-t3479532

In my case MM 6.0.1 (.224 or .253) solved the battery drain issue during night/sleep, so i would highly recommend it. There is also a discussion regarding this.
as suggested by others, i would not directly OTA upgrade with modded kernel, Supersu and Xposed installed. I would do it with flashtool.
If you want to stick with the current version, simply disable/hide/remove the Software update app (or "hide all notifications from this app".)
I froze it a while ago with Rom Toolbox, but thanks

sorry, didn't see it's 1 month old discussion
Hi, I'm still on 32.1.A.1.185
Flashtool (Emma) only allow me to install 32.0.A.6.200 (there is Customized MY and NOBA, don't know the difference) and 32.1.A.1.163 (only Customized_NOBA)
Why can't I update to a more recent firmware?
Thanks
