OK. Need a little help guys
S6 Edge G925F on 7.0 branded EE UK rom, but I have unlocked device through legit code from EE themselves, all good.
Trying to flash BTU rom 'G925FXXS5EQG1_G925FBTU5EQF1_G925FXXU5EQCD_HOME.tar.md5' via Odin3, and it's a no go, as it just hangs at the 'HIDDEN' part in Odin.
'G925FXXU5EQFH_G925FEVR5EQE1_G925FXXU5EQF1_HOME.tar.md5', which is EE based, and flashes just fine, but I'm wanting an unbranded stock rom, with no EE ****, and also no 'custom' ****. I was under the impression that the BTU version gave this?, but it will not flash (at least the one above, which is latest) at all? Not interested in 'PAY' rubbish, nor 'FITNESS' trash, nor calling over WiFi.
Any ideas, or am I missing something?, like my brain! lol?

Any particular reason you want to flash BTU? The only difference is you won't have the my EE app and lookout.
You will lose voLTE and WiFi calling. Other than the removal of the couple of bloat apps nothing will change only you will lose some features.
Anyway if you want to go ahead it's very simple, you can either
•unzip the firmware and manually remove the hidden.img then repack and flash and it will pass.
Or
•flash this PIT file through PIT options in Odin whilst flashing the firmware. Enable repartition before flashing

Option 1 is easiest and more convenient.
Many thx!!, worked a treat

Hello,
I'm attempting to return my I9100 to stock so I can update via KIES as I wish to sell it, after rooting, flashing ICS, playing around for a month etc...
It was originally a T-mobile handset, I used checkfus to find the original stock ROM, and I've downloaded it, however, I cannot get hold of the stock kernel for love nor money! (I've googled it, found one apparent alternative source, but for some reason it wont boot using this and just keeps looping through the T-mobile branded load-up screen)
The kernel I'm after is the following:
UK
BOKE3:http://www.multiupload.com/GY05UJM6DQ
Firmware info: PDA:BOKE3|PHONE:BOKD1|CSC:TMUKE3
BOKE3 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/I41CAJ2BLS
Password: [email protected]
From this thread:
[ROMS]Official i9100 carrier branded firmware download for Odin Flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
I've read the thread and checked both Sammobile and Samsung-update and neither has the BOKE3 Kernel.
If anyone has this, please, please could you upload it so I can return my handset to stock, I would really appreciate it.
Also, if I'm doing anything obviously wrong, please point me in the right direction, I am a n00b at this. (I've successfully reset my counter using triangle away, and flashed the ROM from checkfus, but KIES still says NO!)
Many thanks!
Luke
ps. I realise now I should have backed up my stock kernel and ROM before tweaking, stupid stupid stupid...
I stopped reading somewhere when you say you downloaded using checkfuS and now after a stock kernel.........
Buddy ROM package like you get from checkfus is whole thing including kernel.
Just flash the ROM using Odin.
But be sure its for i9100 if you have that.

Why don't you just download and flash latest ICS ROM with UK support?
Do you really need the branded version?
Just have a look at Intratech's other thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I recommend XWLPD, as this has best balance between performance and battery life on my phone.
If you want to go bak to GB, then flash XWLA4, which was best GB ROM IMO.
Thank you so much atifsh!
I did wonder whether the firmware download from CheckFus included the kernel, but couldn't figure it out (I'm stupid, I know! I'm new at this stuff...)
It's definitely the i9100 (checked under battery), it's definitely a T-mobile UK handset (bought it from a T-mobile customer who provided the contract paperwork).
Last night I tried flashing the latest T-mobile firmware, but KIES didn't like it, so tried flashing the BOKE3 firmware (oldest T-mobile branded firmware) and it didn't like that either.
Someone mentioned that when flashing you need to add the firmware file to the CSC section of odin to reset the CSC code, is this correct? I normally only include it in the PDA section.
This may be the problem I'm having as when I check my CSC using *#272*IMEI# it only lists CPW (carphone warehouse) and not TMU (T-mobile). Does this make sense as to why KIES wouldn't recognise the firmware?
I really appreciate your input and help here. Many thanks!
Luke
Hi It_ler,
Thanks for the advice, I was running the latest ICS firmware from the official thread, however I've decided to sell the device and would like to restore it to stock so that whomever I sell it to can update it through the official methods if they so wish.
Hope that makes sense!
Luke
Remove Sim, remove external sdcard.
Put the firmware.md5 in pda
Put your phone in download mode
after flash and boot dial *2767*3855#
It will wipe your phone and hopefully fix your csc.
Atifsh,
Thank you SO much! You saved my bacon. It worked when I did the *2767*3855# reset, this fixed the CSC and then the phone could update via KIES.
I really appreciate you help,
Many thanks,
Luke
Hey guys!
So I've had my S3 for a few weeks now and i bought it online from Kogan and assumed that the CSC would be XSA because i chose Australia for the firmware update thing when i first booted my phone up.
However Kies shows my phone as being ORS which is the CSC for Slovakia.
I decided that I'm going to flash my phone to another CSC but I'm stuck on whether to change it to XSA (Australian) or to flash an European stock ROM. This is because Australia is horribly slow at receiving updates and most countries in Europe are the first to get them.
So since I have never flashed my S3 before, I would really appreciate it if someone could explain how and where to download the appropriate files from. Basically I want to be able to get updates quickly without having problems here in Australia. Any comment is welcome.
Thanks!

If you want JB now you need to flash the Polish ROM, either ICS and update or just flash one of the ODIN images. Or you can use a custom ROM based on that official release. Start with the sticky threads, then have a look in the development forum.
Sometime today i get a new s9+ it will come with the vodafone uk bloatware on, if i was to flash the btu firmware would that count as unofficial firmware and trip knox?
No, so long as you don't root your phone, you should be fine.
Thats good to know
I dont suppose anyone has yet made an app that allows you to remove system apps without root?
Package disabler pro. You'll have to search for it.
Hi Melliwuk - did you end up flashing your phone to BTU? What was your experience? I have S9+ (SM-G965F) and am on an O2/O2/O2 CSC and want to switch to BTU, but like you don't want to trip Knox! TIA

Flashing official Samsung firmware with Odin will never trip KNOX, only flashing custom software like roms, kernels and recovery will trip KNOX.

As @gee2012 said above, flashing official firmware won't trip Knox.
You just flash the firmware files in Odin. It's quite straight forward. Follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ficial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479
You can download the latest BTU firmware here: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=C397FC9F516E11E89F15FA163EE8F90B
Many thanks for the confirmation and the links @gee2012 and @the_scotsman!
hey but do we have the same problem like the s8? I mean with the CSC code, that if i flash the BTU I will have the default CSC and for have problems with samsung pay?
Hi, I just got Galaxy S9+ and it is bloated with LG Uplus menu and apps. Model version is SM-G965N and when i look for firmware in Sammobile only few firmwares are shown. (KOO, LUC, SKC, KTC)
Can I download KOO firmware and flash with Odin to get rid of carrier bloats and return to stock?
I heard that S9 and S9+ have some problems changing CSC. But if i flash like this, would it be considered changing CSC. Would it work to flash with odin like this?
Is there anyone who knows answer to this?
I also want to do the same thing on my s9 plus. can anyone help please ... thanks

just so i have this straight, youre using a Samsung S9+ on a LG cellular service? thats awesome!! the 965N has the Exynos processor, to the best of my recollection, and you can verify this by installing CPU-Z. If it is, you should be able to flash the G965F firmware on it. I have a S9 that i got from Cricket and installed the G960U firmware on it, debranding it and im satisfied with the result. You will likely need the patched version of Odin in order to flash any firmware on it to debrand it. Verify the processor via CPU-Z and we can go from there

G965N with LGU + firmware too And I want to unbrand it too.
i did it already, and went back to stock.
the service guy installed twrp, then installed custom rom- based on 965F/DS- everything was fine. except no 5.8ghz wifi connection, no OTA update menu.
Hi, I have a new A52s, I bought it off Amazon, and didn't realise it was a grey import. It works fine with my provider (iDMobile in the UK), apart from WiFi calling. iDMobile say the problem is because it's German firmware (DBT CSC), so I started reading up on how to change this. All of the tricks using the phone dialer codes no longer work, so I downloaded the UK Unbranded firmware (BTU CSC), and flashed with Odin. However my phone remains as DBT. I ran Phone Info, and that says that my current firmware is only DBT CSC, with no others available. I did read somewhere that you could get a CSC change if you repartitioned with Odin while flashing. Does anyone know if that's the case? Or are there other approaches that I need to use to change the CSC?
I'm afraid I don't have an answer but I have the same question.
Am looking to buy an A52S 5G primarily as it's supported by my carrier for Wifi calling but carrier price is extortionate.
Flashing carrier firmware worked before on an old S7 but I'm not sure about doing the same on an A52s 5G.
How did you get on OP ?
I'm in Australia with a Taiwan BRI csc a52s.
Wifi calling never worked on android 11, but now I've updated to android 12 and wifi calling is working with my australian telstra sim!
Hopefully this means wifi calling is no longer dependant on csc.
What happens when you flash different csc firmware with odin?
