Hey all,
the "Keep Screen Off" feature stopped working ever since I received the update to Nougat. With Marshmellow it used to work flawlessly. I've tried countless combinations of settings, checked all sensors and whatnot - to no avail. I was hoping Samsung would address this but here I am months and numerous updates later and the feature just won't work. Strangely I can't find anything on that issue on the internet. Even more so since my woman's S7 has the exact same problem that appeared with Nougat!
Phone: international Galaxy S6 Edge
FW: G925FXXS5EQG5/G925FVFG5EQFE/G925FXXU5EQFE (latest German FW)
Any help would be highly appreciated, so thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have just recently rooted my Galaxy S3 (i9300), and now I have noticed that I can't use NFC. When I click on the toggle button in the NFC settings, it just switches from "off" to "activating" like 10 times a second, but it never stays at "on".
I have tested my battery in another (un-rooted) S3 and NFC works fine with that battery, and I have also tested the battery from the other S3 in mine and NFC still did not work.
I tried googling for this issue, but I only found issues related to some custom ROM. I have no custom ROM, I use the standard Samsung ROM, and rooted it by flashing CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip with Odin. I have installed Xposed with a few mods, but I tried disabling them all and it still does not work.
Unfortunately I have never used NFC in the past (before rooting) so I don't know if it's a software or a hardware issue ...
Does anyone have an idea?

Hi guys,
I am using the S6 Edge (DBT version) with stock Rom. I recently upgraded to 6.0.1 and did a hard reset afterwards. When I first opened whatsapp and tried to make a call I noticed that the screen is always on. When I make a call using the regular phone app (Skype also works, If I remember correctly) the proximity sensor does its job.
My WA version is: 2.16.69
I don't know how to fix this. Can you guys please help me?
Kind Regards,
CombatWombat666
Update:
I did a soft- and a hardreset . Nothing changed. Proximity sensor is still not working with WhatsApp.
I wrote WA about it but did not get an answer, yet.
Any help?

Dear god, I located the issue. It was due to the WhatsApp Beta which I was signed for. If anybody else experiences such issues, delete WA Beta and get yourself the ordinary version.
I have the same issue and was signed up for the beta. Opted out and then Uninstalled and reinstalled the regular version and yet have an issue! Any ideas?
I have the same issue tried uninstalling and reinstalling. WhatsApp version 2.16.95 I never subscribed to the beta service. Any luck anyone.
same problem here. In order to make screen off, I'm just pressing power button on call.
Facing the same problem on my Galaxy S6 with Marshmallow.
Nothing to do with Beta version, same issue on regular version of whatsapp as well.
I un-installed updates and reinstalled them again, reinitialized whatsapp and still no luck, the problem persists.
Any luck with finding the resolution?

Any update on this please? I am having the same problem, very annoying! My phone is rooted but since the problem exists on stock ROM as well I think it's connected to base directly. I have tried full factory reset of the phone with no luck.
Installing beta app ver. 2.16.189 seems to fix my proximity sensor issue during whatsapp call.
I'm at stock rom G925I.
I had the same problem with my g6 and solved it as follows: 1 uninstall whatsapp 2 do an update by power off and pressing the 3 bottons power, volumen up and menu at the same time and 3 reinstall the latest or beta whatsapp. That should solved it.
Verizon Note Edge - Reactivation Lock Problems (Legit Samsung Account)
Ughh, so I got my Note Edge, Had it unlocked and rooted running ver 6.0.1 (was originally 5.0.1) For some reason it would not allow me to turn off the activation lock even though it was legitimately in my account, I logged into account.samsung.com and verified it. Did a master reset on phone with no help. Next thing I did was delete the samsung account and recreate it. (Probably a huge mistake). When I try to use my account to unlock the phone I keep getting 'processing failed' I have tried every flash and bypass that I've been able to find with no luck at all. I've been dinking with this for over a week now.
Contacted Samsung yesterday and basically got a runaround response from them.
I still have the email stating the device was registered to me with this IMEI but it didn't help any. I have the original simm card and have done everything with simm installed. at first the OTG cable was working but wouldn't still wouldn't let me turn the lock off. Now it won't even pop up file manager when I conect the OTG cable.
I don't care how I get this lock off of here but can someone point me in the right direction for something that is currently working either through samsung or any other alternative means. Am so frustrated at the moment.
Same issue here. Help!!
Man, i cant beleive this isnt possible? I still have the phone sitting here because i have stuff on it i need. Anyone? Any solutions at all? It's not the google lock but the samsung lock.
What helped me with my note edge I found on technocaretricks website it is Samsung account bypass/reset solution for all models. Also watching a quick utube video or 2. (Sorry cudn't post links)
Hope it helps
I have a galaxy s6 edge+ with a newly installed ROM (SmokkieROMv4) which I absolutely love because it's so snappy and battery life is awesome! It's like a brand new phone. Props to the makers!
Specs:
Android 7.0
Kernel: 3.10.61 SmokkieKERNEL_v2
Build number: SMOKKIEROM V4
Phone Model: SM-G955F (Galaxy s6 Edge+
Here is my problem, everything works great besides being able to talk to people!!! If I call my voicemail it automatically hangs up after exactly 6 seconds, if I call any other numbers it has no dial tone or any noise whatsoever but I think it does connect...just no sound.
Things I've tried:
1. Factory reset
2. Clearing all app data/cache/dalvik
3. Installed various phone/contacts .apk's and set them to my default calling app, and disabled the ones it came with. I did set all the permissions for the newly installed .apks with the same results when I call someone.
4. Disabled S voice and google assistant (Unable to toggle "Ok Google detection" in the google app because it's grayed out(disabled) for some reason.
5. Tried a different ROM with 7.0
Please if anyone knows how to fix this it would be very much appreciated as I do love this new update very much and everything else works flawlessly!

Interesting... Well, atleast i now know im not the only one with this issue....
the only somewhat fix for this is(and its not really a fix) and you can actually use the phone. Is to make sure you are connected to wifi and have wifi calling enabled and set as a priority use. It really sucks cause if your on the road or not home or whatnot that wont work, obviously.. I use skype alot with my data, which is somewhat ok for me.. IDK if Whatsapp would work as a bypass or not? ive never used it so im not sure with that. But theres definitely a major glitch somewhere in the samsung software or drivers for the phone itself. Cause unlike yours, mine is stock. No root,Roms etc.. just apps..
Im running 7.0 SM-G928T
Ive also talked to the tech guys for my carrier (T-Moblie) with no prevail what-so-ever... Question, is your phone in mint condition? .
Whatsapp
Yes whatsapp does work for me and is what I have had to use the past couple of days. Everything besides the actual phone app works correctly lol. But of course after playing around some my phone screen just shot out on me for some reason. It just blinks random colors and stays black most of the time. The last app I installed was called "Root Essentials" and shortly after my phone starts doing this. I have no idea how to fix. Can't afford a new phone at the moment either. Definetely need it to work though as it is used for work. Thanks for the help anyways.
Hey,
I just recently got my S3 and I love it. I upgraded it to Oreo just the other day and any time my tablet reboots the icons and home screen are back to default, along with some of the settings (one that stands out is the Sort By; Alphabetical). Has this happened to anyone else? I am on a Verizon S3 on the latest update. If so, how did you fix it!
Thanks,
snrbtz
I'm not on the Verizon version. But when I updated my Galaxy Tab S3 to Oreo and rebooted it didn't change my home screen. All the groups and apps were in the same spot.
I did a factory reset, updated, then set everything up and it works fine now even after reboots!
Same issue
I got the same problem and very annoyed
I have an S7 edge samsung
