I recently flashed newest firmware but I had androplus kernel already, so I had to make a new one with rootkernel (without root). However, I then got the the "fingerprint hardware unavailable" issue which is only fixed by deleting widevine files in /system/etc/firmwares. I therefore made a new kernel that included root, installed that and deleted the files. Then I installed the old kernel (without root), but now the phone won't boot. Why is that?
The phone boots again if installing the rooted kernel, but I don't want to be rooted.
Made a new kernel with dm-verity disabled. Great success!

With all the hype on the lp launch, I just realized I have no idea what to do : I got the rom through xpirifirm, and I'm just sitting there like "now what?"
Originally when I got the phone, I created a KK pre-rooted rom and used that on my phone, later on down the line I unlocked the boot loader to use a custom kernel and try different roms, but the pre-rooted rom how-to says it's for "locked" bootloader only, for now I figure I should be fine making the rom following the same process and then flashing the resulting zip to my phone, but I have a few questions :
is this the proper way to do it on UB ? to create a prerooted rom and use the zip file to flash the LP update ?
will I keep my root if I do this ? (I'll use the latest SU binary)
will I have recovery ? (I'll use the latest dual recovery)
Hello all. I've been trying to flash Helios rom for my s7 edge but I keep failing. First of all, my device is exynos so it should be good to root. However, when I check TWRP page it says ''This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.''
I've tried flashing TWRP but failed into a bootloop, flashed a stock rom to recover. The rom needs TWRP to be installed and I just can't get it working. Maybe I'm using a wrong version of TWRP, or doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Edit - I faced ''recovery is not seandroid enforcing'' on my last try. Been trying different rooting files to find anything works. Couldn't find anything yet.
recently bl unlocked bla a09 8.0.0.104(c657) (US Unlocked version )and rooted with supersu, wanted to install magisk so unrooted and remove supersu and installed twrp succesfully and tried sideloading magisk but it fails stating boot image already modified and advised to flask stock image and i looked around but cant find it, can anyone point me in the right direction for the boot image, thank you.
Hello. I recently tried the Pixel Experience (to test the GCam) after unlocking the bootloader and rooting my phone with Magisk. Everything ok, if not for the fact that finding myself better with the MIUI I decided to format the smartphone and put the Xiaomi.eu ROM on it. Everything went well but when I went to see if the API2 were still enabled (besides finding them NOT enabled) I saw that the smartphone gave NOT ROOTED!
I tried to redo the usual procedure with MAGISK but always error:
"Unsupported / Uknown image format" at the time of Unpacking Boot Image
Why?
How can I re-root my device?
Thank you and sorry for my english....
Its probably rom issue. Reflash the rom with orange fox recovery and flash latest magisk 19.3.
Lets say I have a rooted device with Magisk installed and a custom kernel like ElementalX with stock ROM
What is the process of taking a OTA update without loosing data
Correct me if I am wrong or if there is a faster way
I install the boot I backed up before installing ElementalX
Uninstall Magisk, download OTA, install Magisk to "inactive slot"
Boot up
Install new version of ElementalX
Are there any other steps or things I need to know before I do that?
