First I had XXLPQ then I flashed siyah kernel v3.2.8 through CMW, I used it for like a day then everything started crashing so I just rebooted and then I got a bootloop.
I flashed XWLP7 it got stuck at the bootlogo(before animation screen) so I went into recovery mode and then it said "successful csc install (KOR)" something like that then I flashed siyah kernel v3.3.1 though ODIN, now I tried to change the CSC though the menu by using *#272*IMEI No# then it just never booted it just stays at the "Samsung Galaxy S II" the one before the animation screen.
I tried searching i found nothing similar...
I think its a boot loader problem, How do i flash a boot loader ?
pleease help
EDIT: I finally got it into download mode, now can someone please tell me whats the issue ?
bootloaders are roughly half way down 1st post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
edit: if youve got it into download mode just flash a stock rom for now so you have a working device again

So now it boots past the Galaxy S2 screen? I have experienced that for 2-3 times now, same thing where everything started crashing and rebooting the phone will end up stuck at the bootscreen. What I had to do is to wipe data, dalvik, and cache then only it would work again.
It could be due to the particular ROM used as I have not experienced it after using the newer XWLPD for a few weeks now.

its a siyah kernel v2.3.8 issue where some files get corrupt, so even after flash v3.3.1 some files maybe corrupt also. So a full wipe is advised after backup.
Hoesntly I dont know but I think that its linked to the rom :/.

No I could boot into both recovery and download modes. Back then I tried flashing the same firmware and newer firmware but both still ended stuck at the boot screen. Only after I booted into recovery to wipe data, Dalvik cache and cache then it booted past the bootscreen and working again.

maybe some of the data was corrupt *-)
My friend followed the steps given in the following link to install CM-9 on his phone.
Cyanogenmod 9 on Xperia S
Once he did a data wipe, he rebooted the phone and left it for a couple of minutes. It remained stuck at the bootloader for around 15 minutes. He then proceeded to try to try the whole thing again. While the fastboot flashing was successful, while trying to install the cm9-nozomi zip file, he got the following error:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="LT26i"||getprop("ro.build.product")=="LT26i"||(getprop("ro.product.device")=="LT26a"||getprop("ro.build.product")=="LT26a"||getprop("ro.product.device")=="nozomi"||getprop("ro.build.product")=="nozomi"
Status 7
He's also tried mounting the system partition via mounts and storages and it shows mount failed. The same is the result for data, cache, etc.
He's now stuck at boot, but is able to access fastboot and recovery mode. The problem is that clockworkmod doesn't support USB OTG Mount and that even if I can modify the update script to not check for the script, I have no way of sending it into the phone.
Any suggestions, solutions or the like would be highly appreciated

Try flashing back to stock to minimize the issues. Then flash via fastboot a rooted Kernel. Enter into CWM wipe Dalvik Cache first, then flash CM9. If bootloop still occurs try flashing Krab's kernel for CM9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808831. By the way what Kernel are you using?

Ok so no need to flash back to stock, as you've mentioned you're on stock right now. You can flash via fastboot Advanced Stock Kernel by Arakmar or any Kernel that has CWM. Then you wipe Dalvik Cache and now you can install CM9. I stated on my earlier post that you can try flashing Krab's kernel for CM9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1808831.

I was willing to try out CM 9.1 ROM I unlocked the bootloader as per steps everything went well. When I reboot it shows FXP logo and then it is stuck at Xperia logo. Since its battery is not removable I have to wait until it all drains out and charge again and get it into working mode. I could go into recovery and flash CM 9.1 but even from there when I reboot it now stuck up at CM logo same as Stock Xperia logo.
I have emma, flashtool and SUS but I cannot get my phone into flashboot or flashmode as nothing happens with volume key combination. When I connect using USB cable it shows RED LED light and once charged up I can get it into recovery mode...
I gave phone to sony repair somehow they are able to get into flashmode... however they say they might not be able to repair it as using Emma it doesn't flash stock ROM.
I am quite sure sony is going to return me handset without repair, any help would really save my brand new Xperia S from going into vain, Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Edit: nvm I didn't see previous posts

Hi guys,
I decided to flash my kernel and rom etc even though I know not much about it all. Nevermind, I root my phone, unlock bootloader, install cwm, try 2 different kernels but they only boot and then nothing, just black screen. So I flash stock kernel and phone worked normally. After that I saw a couple .img files I downloaded, i tried to put them into phone somehow through flashtool, nothing waqs working so I renamed those kernels images to system.img and put it into phone with flashtool in fastboot mode, and then button Select system to flash. And now my phone is stucked at booting. Theres only sony logo until i pull the battery out. How can i flash back to stock system and where can I get those IMG files. And I cannot get to recovery mode. I did a backup but i cannot use it without getting to recovery mode.
Is there anyone who could help me?
Thank you very much and sorry for my english.

Thanks for rreply.
I used
marckernel0.3.img
and then
boot_ICS_plus_v5.img
and I got them from this forum.
I renamed them to system.img and then by using flashtool, phone in fastboot mode, I used Select system to flash so it might be the problem. Using kernel img and used them wrong way. And as I said I can't get to recovery mode. So for repairing I can only use fastboot or flash mode. I tried to repair it with SEUS. It said I have wrong system data so it cannot proceed.
Did you try flashing stock ftf through flashtool?

Yes, whole story is.... I rooted phone, then unlocked BL, then install cwm, then I flashed 2 kernels, after each flash, phone booted and then it got stuck on black screen. Right after that I flashed stock kernel and phone booted and loaded normally. And then I used img files mentioned before the way I said. So I think I don't need to do anything with kernel but with system data.

Can you give me a link to any custom kernel? And then should I use fastboot or flash mode? I feel like I'm completely lost now.
So I used MT11i_4.1.B.0.431_kernel.ftf to flash current kernel. After it I managed to get into recovery, run latest backup. After it phone booted and loaded normally. I guess it(s the end of me trying to do something like this with my phone.

yes bootloader is unlocked
sorry i know im being tedious but just to re check ...
1. flash ftf (my zu is from HK so the latest is .681 ftf)
2. then fash the boot.img from carbon
3. then flash carbon onto my phone
in this order you reckon it would fix my problem?
(going ahead and giving it a try anyways in the above order lets see if it pans out)

As you seem to be having issues I would go back to stock and satrt again, and the steps above should do just that for you. I would boot up after the first step just to check that everything is upto speed on the phone.
I wouldn't worry about getting a HK firmware, just use any of the unbranded/generic US/EU 757 FTFs
I cant see why it didn't work straight from PAC , hell the kernel in Carbon boots the latest PAC just fine

ok bud tired it now the problem is the dam phone keeps going into recovery boots and gets stuck on sony and then reboots and goes into recovery any advice!!!
Flash a stock tft with flashtool in flashmode and it should work again.
Anyways flashing the kernel with the boot.img in fastboot mode should work.
Have tried that flashed the latest ftf. Then used the root guide didn't work used the boot.img from carbon from pac rom. Still just reboots , my issue is I want a custom rom cos I'm happier with a custom rom, so I get root on the stock. But I can't seem to load a custom rom, first it was midway boot now it's recovery reboots , I want a custom rom any advice .

Do it like this:
- flash boot.img (flashtool: fastboot mode)
- wipe cache/dalvik cache (CWM Recovery)
- flash the ROM[.zip] (CWM Recovery)
- flash the GAPPS[.zip] (CWM Recovery)
- reboot
That should work.
I mean flashed ftf , fastbooted boot.img from carbon, had recovery reboots (meaning the phone would boot up stuck on Sony logo and then reboot into recovery ) then tried pac rom boot.img no help, infact flashed ftf cleard cache and data and then flashed boot.img flashed rom , had same recovery issue, then tried a full wipe, (ofcourse flashed ftf again) I mean went into mount storage and formated cache data system etc etc, now I'm really baffeld I have tried everything I find myself getting everything to work except putting the custom rom someone help

You forgot to flash the rom itself. Just flashing the kernel (boot.img) doesn't to anything instead of flashing
the kernel. You need to flash the ROM to have working Operation System. That's why just the logo shows
up and goes into recovery. Put the ROM (the .zip file of the rom) on your SD Card and go into recovery
and go to "install .zip" and choose your file. After that the ROM should be loading after Boot Logo. Don't forget
to flash the GAPPS after flashing rom.
Pacman Rom: www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13688-pac-togari-4-3-build-1-20131214-044914
Pacman Gapps: www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13604-gapps-jb-20130813-signed
here is an example for installing the rom and gapps:

ok not so clear on what you are asking but here goes
had a c6802 cracked the screen (using carbon rom on it loved it) bought a c6833 wanted to try pac rom put it on realized my batt consumption is way too high so tried to switch back to carbon now, while doing so i flashed carbon rom Double tap to wake and carbon kernel, here started the spiral, first few hours couldn get any thing to work read up looked up a few of the forum, and ftf fashed the generic hk rom things got ok, but then root was the issue so found out the root method, fastboot .img and flash cmw supersu.zip, all fine and dandy didnt mess with it in anyway
since then as i have explained im gettin a recovery loop even when i flash the stock rom (cmw flash not ftf) so now i have the latest stock rom with root but i have sony's stock i want a rock in which i can add a menu button and change the dip and everything doesnt crash if you know what i mean....

maybe the solution for you would be too install xposed framework which gives you the features you want. It allows your to "modify" your stock rom like the advanced power button menu, editing the navigation and status bar and stuff like that.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
you obviously need ROOT for this.

Which ROM do you have installed exactly ? In which country do you live ?
Right, I have a set of issues which all seem vaguely connected but I can't figure out how to resolve.
I've unlocked my bootloader and I've been messing about with recoveries and CM11 etc.
The situation however is that I installed doomkernel, got into CWM and installed CM11, all good.. went to go back into the recovery and it's gone, it just hangs if I try, no worries I thought I'll just reflash doomkernel, then the ROM doesn't boot so I have to reflash boot.img from the CM11 zip.
That kills the recovery again... rinse and repeat basically, it looks like I can't have CM11 and CWM which is a PITA.
Plenty of people in the CM11 thread seem to be having no issues with either retaining the recovery or using cyandelta, neither of which work for me and whilst CM11 is still in nightly I really need to be able to upgrade frequently.
Also, using flashtool to unlock the bootloader was fine but I can't flash a recovery from there as the option is greyed out on both CM11 and the stock ROM..
I'm lost, I've tried several combinations but I've also gone dangerously close to bricking the phone so I've backed off..
Can anyone give me any pointers?
The only thing I haven't done is download the ROM from the frexperia site as I can't make sense of which ROM I need, I can't see Z2 or Sirius mentioned anywhere and I've learned the painful way in the past not to flash the wrong ROM.
So now I'm back to the stock rooted ROM but there's a bunch of issues with it such as it loving switching the wifi on and off, proximity sensors thinking my face is my fingers, the useless lock screen etc etc.
HALP! Thanks all
Try this:
1 - install recovery.
2 - reboot into recovery.
3 - flash CM11, don't reboot.
4 - flash gapps, don't reboot.
5 - flash recovery & reboot.
Does this leave you with a recovery? There is an option to upgrade recovery in CM11 settings -> developer options -> update CM recovery. Try this and see what happens.

I haven't been flashing the recovery from within CWM, in fact I'm not even sure you can with it being a kernel image as thats how Sony's work? If I flash the doomkernel again I know CM11 won't boot and sort of vice versa..

Still stuck on this, I do know I've got stock with doom kernel and I've fastboot flashed the CM boot.img from the CM11 nightly, that basically results in a phone that won't boot OR go into recovery.
Literally the only way I can get into CWM is by using doom kernel and the stock ROM (obviously rooted and using xposed etc if that makes a difference) and the moment I flash anything from within CWM it obviously overwrites the boot.img meaning I can boot normally but not with a working recovery.
I can't escape the feeling that I ought to be flashing a specific version perhaps from freexperia rather than the cyanogenmod website or I need a different kernel to kick the process off rather than doom kernel.
Very confusing and a real shame doom kernel only works with stock ROMs
Sorry the skin part was a spelling misstake. Should have been SKIP. I issued the same as you, my problem was somehow related to DoomKernel. So just Flash Stock now (using a ftf in flashtool) and then straight the boot.img from the CM zip. Now boot in the recovery (press vol down when the Amber led lights up at the boot process) and flash the CM zip in this recovery (wipe data/Factory reset and format /system before ofc (least that what I would recommend)). Flash Gapps if you whish. Reboot to your now working CM install.

I think there's the official and an unofficial tool, I used the one from here http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
And a .ftf file is an official sony ROM, bit like how you end up with .zip files for non official ROMs, HTCs have .RUUs and iPhones have .ISPW files.
There's a list of .ftf files on here somewhere, grab the latest from there.
For what it's worth, I went CM11, got fed up with the camera quality so went to xistenz and romaur, both slightly unstable so I went back and back again to a stock .ftf, rooted it and I'm just using a bunch of xposed tweaks now and it looks pretty much the same as AOSP now. You only see the difference when you're in settings.

I meanwhile found a even easier way to solve this problem. Just go into faatboot mode (turn off phone press Vol+ and attach USB) and do "fastboot erase recovery" this will boot the kernels default recovery (CWM) again. This all is caused by some missing tools in the kernel which is not loading TWRP. However even with the tool provided by @Dees_Troy it does not load TWRP, now instead of hanging at the black screen with no recovery it still loads CWM after flashing TWRP to the recovery partition.

In case you want back to stock, yes. In case you want from Doom to CM just erase the recovery partition and fastboot flash the CM boot.img
