Redmi Note 4x stuck in Twrp - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi Fellow members,
I am using Redmi note 4x (global edition) with twrp, magisk and xposed installed. Yesterday i reboot the phone and it boots into twrp screen, i have flashed other rom also but it keeps booting in twrp.
I tried to access fastboot, by pressing vol-up + vol-down key and connecting it to pc, its shows green light of notification instead of red light blinks. and i also tried by pressing vol-down and power key. and finally phone boots into rom. but whenever i restart the phone it keeps coming to twrp.
Can anyone help me to access fastboot option. I will be very thankful to you guys.

If you are on any custom ROM like LOS, head on to developer options and turn on "Advance Reboot".
Now you will get "Reboot to Fastboot" option upon clicking Restart.

No. AFAIK, it doesn't work this way. You are either doing some step wrong.
Double check your steps. It's most probably a human error.
Make sure you are holding the combination long enough.
And carefully follow the steps mentioned in the above link.
If it doesn't work, then I'm afraid, you'll need to contact customer service.

What to do in case of bootloop

Hi. So I have a noobish question
This may sound very stupid, but this is actually the first time I've owned a phone with non-removable battery, so I just wanted to know what would I do if I ever got stuck in a bootloop? With my previous device, I could just remove the battery and put it back in then boot into recovery. Obviously can't do that now. So how do I turn the phone off, or enter recovery?
Anyone?
You can enter the recovery whenever you want by pressing the on/off button and the down volume button for about 10 seconds. When the Oneplus logo is on the screen release the on/off button but keep the down volume button pressed.
It works, I had a bootloop and fixed it by flashing the rom via twrp

Sorry, I got a little confused
Just to be clear, here's what I understood from what you said - Consider I turn my phone on and its stuck in a bootloop. What do I do then? Hold the power and vol down buttons? That will boot the recovery, even while the device is stuck in bootloop with the oneplus logo continuously showing?
Did I get it right?

I'm sorry I'm not English I may be unclear.
But yes, when you got the logo continuously showing, press the two buttons I said and it will reboot the phone, but you have to release only the on/off button when the oneplus logo will appear right after the beginning of the reboot. If you keep pressing the down volume button it will go to recovery
Have you got a oneplus x already ? You can try it right now, when your phone is awake. It's the same method as in a bootloop.

So I tried what you said, didn't exactly work When the phone was awake, did power+vol down. That just caused it to take a screenshot.
However, when I held down just the power button, the phone turned off. Then I had to turn it on by holding the power button. I did the same thing (holding down power button) while the phone was booting, it worked even then, and the phone again turned off.
So at least I can get into recovery now in case of bootloop. I just need to hold the power button till phone turns off, then boot into recovery using power+vol down combination.
Anyways, thanks for the help
Bootloop
I have the same thing.
Yesterday, I got my OPX and installed TWRP 2.8.7.0 and superSU. AFter using the phone all day, I rebooted and it is now saying in TWRP "no operating system".
I tried to flash the 2.1 full ROM and I get an error in both TWRP or in Stock recovery.
I need a way to get my system booted again and do a full reset. Any suggestions?

You can try a different twrp. There's 2 builds for our device. One is from the twrp thread itself, the other is available in the blu_spark kernel thread.

hi chennai
thk u for ur answer
I tried the manipulation with the power button and the volume down but the reboot is too fast to enter bootloader
Indeed, my phone was under oos3.x and wanted to move to cyanogen ... but once the OEM Unlocked I tried to install TWRP, and that's when it is set to reboot systematically

Hi thank you for your return, but your link doesn't work!
For fastboot, unfortunately I can't access it because the phone restarts automatically so it doesn't work with on and volume down buttons and it doesn't work either with a computer.... Any other advise :'(

Unfortunately stuck on "Activate This Device" screen

Hi Guys,
Well, obviuosly I can be thought as a thief, but believe me I'm not. I am quite desperate.
I had just bought a redmi note 2 device for my daughter. Unfortunatley, after 2 days of usage, it began shutting itself down, and also didn't let me open it unless I pulled out the battery and set it back.
The seller offered me to to reset the device and reboot, which I did.
But then, I bumpped into this screen - "Activate This Device".
The tradgedy is that my little child created an Mi account, with fabricated email address, and also she didn't take a note of the password!
So, this new device is now unfunctional for me! And my daughter cries out loud... :crying:
I contacted the seller again - he told me that he could try reinstalling android, but he is in doubt if it'll help at all.
Can someone advise?
Many thanks!

And from the state of this screen, how can I do it?
1. Install twrp on the phone. Google keyword "redmi note 2 twrp fastboot". I cant post link here. Or try download it from xiaomi(dot)eu. Redmi note 2 codename is hermes.
2.Download any cm based rom. There are two unofficial cm rom on this forum, and flash it using twrp.

Installing twrp using fastboot requiring installing some driver on pc and some command line. If you're good with that, go ahead.
Easier method is by installing twrp using MI Recovery by pressing power button + vol up. Download twrp from xiaomi(dot)eu website.
You don't have to change any ROMs I don't think.
Factory reset the phone by holding the power and vol - buttons to get into the stock recovery and then factory reset the device. Create a new Mi account using a legit email and verify it. BAM!

I flashed weekly rom from xiaomi.eu (6.2.25). it automatically asked my mi-acc password without entering my email or mi-id. and if i skip it, my phone is locked until I entered it.
If you access you mi account from the desktop website you can reset the phone number by following their instructions. I think it takes 3 days to be evaluated but after that you can use it again.

Need help it's about recovery pls. Help

Hey guys it's me derek again. Sorry for making a new thread but i really need help. I installed android 6.0 successfully by following these steps:
1. I downloaded the ADB Interface and wiped all data in my phone
2. I repartitioned my xperia s using ADB commands.
3. After that, i installed the 6.0 package.
4. I rebooted into system and after 2 mins it finally works.
After these steps, i noticed that google apps or GApps aren't installed. I was trying to install it using TWRP but i can't access recovery. The way I tried to access recovery, was to turn off my device, turn it on and repeatedly press volume up but it doesn't work. There is no pink LED Light or something.

Redmi 3s download mode bug

Hello, I am fresh Xiaomi Redmi 3s user. I want to flash my rom to latest global dev version but i can't start the download mode.
I am holding vol up + power button, phone starts in Recovery Mode, I click the Download button and smartphone starts the system normally without any „black screen”.
Do you have any ideas how to flash this phone (bootloader disabled)? I need it because there is small bug with BT that make impossible to use Mi Band.
Thanks in advance.

i am a redmi 3 pro user so i dont know how you can go to edl mode.google on how to boot redmi 3s in edl mode then you can flash the rom.
can you boot on fastboot mode ?
So I check this tut: xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-put-redmi-3-into-edl-mode/
1st method doesn't work. Phone restart and starts system normally.
2nd don't work on win 10 64bit,.
3rd - nothing happens. Phone shows battery charging. Nothing more.
BUT on the windows 7 64 bit second method works correctly

TWRP is not working

I don't know if this is the right place for my question, but here it is:
I am currently trying to install LineageOS on my Honor 5x and everything worked until now. I used
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-kiwi.img
to install twrp and the console said it would work. But now, if I press Volume Up and Power, it opens the standard Huawei eRecovery. How can I fix that problem?

Be sure the phones not plugged into power or PC, then try. Mine does same if plugged into anything.
