I would like to be able to stream the video and/or audio from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City prayer room.
I cannot post links but if you search IHOP-KC and then click on the Prayer Room at the top of the page it will take you to what I would like to see / hear. There are also links to stream using Windows Media and IPHONE/IPAD.
They have developed an IPAD/IPHONE app for it but not one for Android as of yet.
Is there a way I can play this with an app or anything?
I have tried several apps that susposed to allow you to play streaming audio but the ones I have tried do not work.
Thanks for any help.
The best way, so far, is to use m.yourmuze.fm. If you have an account with them there are several links on their site to the IHOP-KC Global Prayer Room. The only downside is that it streams through the video player and you wont be able to multi-task. Hope this helps.
First let me say, I have no ties with the developer of this app. I just want to support an app that has superb function and extreme potential.
Don't let the title fool you. I just started playing around with this app today and let me say, WOW. Not only is it a Boxee remote that works really well. It also has Navi-X on it. YOU DO NOT NEED A BOXEE BOX TO USE THE NAVI-X FUNCTION.
Navi-X is a streaming media scraper. It aggregates online content from several locations, and presents it to you in a very nice format. You can browse the selections and choose to either play on your Boxee Box, or on android itself. I have played a couple of movies on my Nook Color streaming for a couple different sources. They all worked very well.
There are several issues with this app however. You have to use another video player app to play the videos. I've tried rock player, but it had some issues pausing the stream and issues starting the stream. Vplayer worked just fine though. It takes some time to get the stream going, but once it starts, it will play through very nicely. Also, sometimes when choosing a video to play it will say there is nothing to play. Usually just clicking on the video again will solve the issue.
I have not tried high definition movies, nor have I tried it using a mobile hotspot. I imagine through more thorough testing more issues will crop up, but all in all, a very good start, and can't wait to see what lies in the future of this app.
I apparently cannot post links just yet, so please feel free to search for it on the market. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'd give it a crack but 5 bucks for a boxee remote is about 4 bucks too much to be honest.
The real value in the app is not the remote function. It's the ability to use Navi-X on your nook color.
Navi-X is an app for XBMC and Boxee that aggregates streaming video links. You can watch almost anything that is streaming online with this app on your Nook Color. If you tether your Nook while you are away from wifi, you can watch almost anything you want.
Hey all,
I hope this is the correct forum for my query, apologies if it isn't. I had a look before posting but my query is quite unique.
When i play streams through dedicated apps such as Tvcatchup on 4.0.4 (live streaming of UK Freeview channels in a standalone app), streams play flawlessly.
But when I try to play streams within browsers, the video is very jerky (sound is great though).
My next thought was to try and play the network stream directly through a player such as VLC. When I look at the source of the web page containing the embedded player on a streaming site, i get rtmpe:// and http://****.m3u8 links.
Tried to play both via the network stream option in VLC for android (beta) and nothing happens. When I play them on a PC, i get errors. Looking at the playlist.m3u8 file within text editor, it creates a session ID (i am guessing linked to your logon to the website as a way to authenticate users) and tags it onto the end of the .m3u8 URL.
If anyone got previous experience in this area and can offer any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
Hey guys, i'm looking for best android apps to stream videos to chromecast. The problem is that most of them only support mp4 files. I found only one that supports all file formats, it transcodes the file on the fly on your phone and streams directly to chromecast. its called Megacast. Does anyone know anything similar?
Try using Plex... It's a paid app, but free from time to time in Amazon App Store
Megacast - Chromecast Video
This isn't strictly a Chromecast app, but rather than Android one that you'll need to download on your phone. Regardless of how you get it on your TV, through, Megacast is an excellent Chromecast player that has real-time transcoding support, allowing you to play files from your phone or tablet that aren't supported natively on your individual Chromecast device. This includes AVI, MKV, 3GP files and more. It can also automatically pre-load subtitles or let you add your own, making it one of the most flexible video streaming apps around
The Google Chromecast lets you display video, photos, pictures and other media content from supported apps on your big-screen TV, using your Android or iOS device as a remote control. You can also send content straight from a Chrome Web browser on your computer. There are hundreds of apps that take advantage of this unique technology, which Google calls "casting," to offer a new way to link.
Try BubbleUPnP
BubbleUPnP, many video + audio options, local transcoding, supports configurable subtitles and transcodes only when necessary.
Plex always transcodes when using subtlitles, always thanscodes if audio is Dolby/DTS to Stereo, and does not support AC3 passthrough as BubbleUPnP does.
Plex is a hog.
+1 for BubbleUPnP, amazing Android app. With a good media server running on the pc (like Serviio) you can stream everything to your Chromecast (transcoding is done by the pc).
Not a huge fan of BubbleUPnP, when I download something off ttorrent, its a roll of the dice of it will work with it. I'd have to say my go to is local cast. Worst is allcast
Allcast isnt bad. I mainly use it to stream Showbox
Plex by far.
Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
Emby all the way. Its,s free, its for, its better than plex
BubbleUPnP also works with DLNA and transcoding on the fly. With a powerfull device is amaizing. Slow devices work with hickups. Waiting for a while for Mxplayer to chromecast but still no go.
We're running a local IPTV based TV station, that pushes to RTMP players. They're wanting to make a simple app inhouse, that sports a player..so when you open the app, the livestream from the station picks up and there's no configuring or fussing around for the users. Think CW's and NBC's watcher apps.
Originally, I thought a wrapper app for a mobile site, with the html5 player embedded and set to fullscreen would work, but I'm reading conflicting information.
What's a good way to make this work? Is there a generic rtmp player we can buy/license, or is there an opensource player? I tried reaching out to a few RTMP app makers on the Play Store, but they're not interested in a stripped down, branded version of their apps. Oh well...
