I'm having issues with ROMs other then EUI w/ video conferencing (Line, google hangouts, skype). LineageOS (Both 6 & 7.1.2). When I video conf w/ google hangouts my front camera disconnects, but the user on the other end can still here me.
As soon as I recover my EUI TWRP backup, all works well. Is there a driver issue in other ROMs that would cause this?

Hi, could you please check if your P9000 can record video in Facebook Messenger using main (back) camera? If yes, please post what rom do you use.
I've tried eragon 3.8 and 4, no luck so far. When i try to record i get "Please wait for the video to finish sending before recording a new one" message ( i65.tinypic.com/2d2eu1g.png ) . Taking photos works fine.
I can take photos and record videos with secondary (front) camera without any problems.
Both camera works for me in Ressurection Remix.
Thanks for the info. Can anyone check on some stock based rom?
Is there any ROM in which Google Camera photosphere works?
In all I tested so far the images in photosphere are blurry.
Regular images are ok.
Same problem here...
I have the same problem. When you talk about Google Camera, did you tried original app that is not visible in the Google Play search (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera) or Cardboard Camera that is returned when I search Google Play store for Google Camera (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.vr.cyclops) . Google Camera works much better but not ideal
Google Camera works for me in general.
4K Video does not work (not important to me, other app can be used)
Photosphere is blurry (big issue for me, since there is no alternative)
I also tried the photosphere coming from Google Streetview - it has exactly the same issue, blurry results.
My assumption is that the issue originates somehow from drivers coming with CM/Lineage.
Since this issue exists also on other phones. E.g Note 3: There it works with stock, but not on the majority of custom ROMs.
Exception on Note 3 is the Resurrection ROM. It works fine there.
Unfortunately Resurrection does not help on LeMax.
Same problem here with Marshmallow and EUI 23s.
I don't think there's a way to fix this
Hi there. Since I installed Android 10 ROMs, video recording with any camera is really laggy (5-10 fps). I've tried a lot of solutions: going back to android 9 roms, MIUI, magisk modules, etc... Nothing worked and i'm going crazy. Every ROM I use has this problem and i don't know how to fix it. Both camera sensors are Samsung.
Hey people, hope everyone's well.
I have an issue with recording videos using 3rd party apps like Instagram & Snapchat. Picture attached for reference.
Glitched video, audio is fine.
Taking pictures with these apps are fine. Both taking pictures & videos with stock camera also works flawlessly.
Phone : Huawei P9 Lite
ROM : This LineageOS 14.1 (Nougat 7.1.2)
Kernel : Above ROM's kernel.
Mods : Nothing involving camera, running stable Magisk 21.4 with Busybox installed.
Searched around but doesn't seem like this issue is common. Is there a fix? Perhaps a build.prop line or kernel tweak of somekind? Maybe a Magisk module?
Appreciate the help in advance. Thanks!
On Custom ROMs we all share currently the same video recording bug.
Audio is missing or off-sync, time-length of videos get messed up, and so on.
The temporary workaround was to reboot the phone and after that, for the next ~5-10 minutes video recording was working more or less as intended.
Needless to say that this is very cumbersome.
Here has someone found another workaround that seems to be the better option for now:

Concerning the video recording bug: I just tested Footej Camera App for a day and for me it works flawless so far!

Therewith it is currently the only known option we have to make video recording work on custom roms (without the workaround of rebooting the device and having a ~10min timeframe of working video recording)
I've tested Footej Camera 2 + Footej Camera 2 Premium (May 2021 version) and both seem to work for video recording.
There are some downsides, though:
- Non-Premium version has a 5min time limitation for videos, Ads, and JPEG quality limitations.
- both versions have the limitation of 30-fps video (in normal mode). There is no 60-fps video option like in gcam.
Despite that, this seems to be a better workaround until gCam fixes are out or anxcamera is working.
