Hi frnds,
I am having prob. with my college wifi. THe college wifi is 802.1 EAP secured network. So after connecting to the wifi. When i open the browser the browser first open the university's login page where i have to enter my username and pass.
And after clicking on login then i can open any site using the browser only.
But when i open any other app like market it does not connect it shows not network connection.
So the problem i think is that before connecting to the net, the wifi first verify the user identity. That can be done only in browser but entering details but not in case if market.
Hence does anybody know a method by which i can verify the wifi for the whole phone and hence can use any app on it.
Many college WiFi networks are configured not to allow second party apps (for example Android Market) to exchange data via that netowork. U would have to ask your network supervisor on your college if the "blocking second party apps" is true.
The proof, that the WiFi is working correctly is, that u can open any other site via the phone browser.
If u are willing only previews of apps in the market, try to connect to the market site via the phone net browser :]
I've searched around for an answer to this question, but I can't seem to find anything.
My office uses secured 802.1x wireless. When I try and connect, I get a message saying "You must set a lock screen PIN or password before you can use credential storage". Is there a way around this? I really don't want to set a PIN or password on my phone...
Set it, set up your connection, then change your lock back to None. It only needs the lock when it's initially creating the store. You can remove the screen lock once your credential store is set up.
Awesome. I figured it would be something simple.

This didn't work for me, it asks me to create a code (pattern, pin or password) if I want to create, for example, a VPN connection.
Then, lockscreen requires my code to unlock, and it doesn't allow me to change lock back to none because, it says, it's protected under a credential storage.
If I clear my credential storage it clears my saved connections. This was not an issue on stock and on
On the most of the android phones by default, informing the user all the saved WiFi password it will be sync with your google account. In case of change the phone or reset the phone, user are able retrieve them by input the g-mail user and password and bring back the saved WiFi network on the android device.
Most of the time this feature, it is work fine but not always.
It happen for me recently! I just saw all my saved network has been disappear, I try all possible option (safe-mode/ set account on a new phone/ restore my phone/ contact google support 2 times)
Even the google support can't figure it out how it been erased
Google final answer it was "it might was some technical issue while synchronizing with the cloud"
I try to put some of the WiFi pass again, but even after it there is no options on the android or google dashboard to see the new WiFi pass has been sync or not.
Basically the information about WiFi password it has been collected from user but there is not any report to the end user about it!
The password is should reachable again same as the saved password in the google chrome or the history of location/search in all other services...
but
1- The SSID/pass is not retrievable from google account.
2- In Google dashboard is not show at least like names of the saved network.
3- Google is not even tell the user number of the saved WiFi network.
It should be a way to monitor this sync process and make sure it's working in proper way!
is there any way to monitor this sync process?
Hi
does anyone have the file explorer WiFi transfer working on their PACE ? I installed the apk on both my phone and the watch and watched the youtube video several times but cant get mine to connect.
I choose the "access from.." option on the watch, connected to WiFi and started the service and noted the IP address and port. I then open up the app on my phone and choose the "remote" option followed by FTP option and then add a remote location. When adding the remote location I add the IP address and port. There is a space for username and password but I don't know what to put in there ? I tried just leaving those blank and choosing anonymous but it didnt connect.
I see on the youtube video for this that the uploader already has a FTP location created with username and password populated but doesnt show how this is done.
Anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong ? Thanks
The watch needs to be awake or it shuts off the WiFi connection, you can try to do it while charging watch to keep it awake.
Note: on the other device just use the browser and ftp:// IP address : port
I was playing about with it this morning and found the issue. I was using the default port of 4045 on the file manager on the watch which is blocked. Tried to use Chrome browser to access and was given ERR_UNSAFE_PORT message. Changed the port to 2000 and all worked OK.
Would be great now if a new feature was put out in next release to allow for either increase in lock time or enable/disable function
Hello, I just tried to install this free app Wifi File Transfer apk from https://apkpure.com/wifi-file-transfer/com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer and it's working really great!
I used adb to install it.
Once installed click on it to launch it, it is true that the screen is small but you can navigate by dragging up with the finger, the upper part of the app to "start" button then click on it. Then a message appears to check that everything works, click on the "V" green then a "stop" button appears, drag with your finger without clicking on "stop" the upper part, the link appears which can be used to connect by an internet browser (any of them)
Click on "Stop" to stop the app.
Pros: you can access all the files of your watch and for example transfer themes directly into your watch without having to connect it to your computer. Another advantage, you can use any computer or device with web browser connected to the same wifi as the watch. So it will work with your smartphone too.
Cons: do not stay too long connected because your battery will not like too much ...
Hello, I am trying the wifi file transfer, but when I try to start it, it says "wifi not connected". I go to watch settings to connect the wifi, but when I come back to application, it says again wifi not connected.
Any idea?
Thanks

Try this File Manager:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager
I downloaded it to my phone then exported the app and side loaded to the watch. It works pretty well, it has a button to activate WiFi (no need to go to watch settings). It creates an FTP server on watch you can connect from anywhere in the same WiFi network, even the same app on phone will work. When creating the FTP connection, choose any user name but leave password blank. You may need to activate the useful PaceOn app so the watch won't go to sleep (it closes the WiFi connection). Good luck.

Delete files on the watch? You don't need FTP, you can do it using the file manager itself. As a Plus, you can also uninstall side loaded apps too. Cheers

On a side note: you can now transfer files from your phone to your watch through the amazfit app.
I am using the latest pacefied (1.2.4.8) and version 2.0 of amazfit on android.

It does not work for me. It seems the phone does not correctly created the hotspot... Did you manage to make it work?

Has anyone got the WiFi transfer "pro" version working. Today I installed the free ver which worked fine but has size limitations. I decided to buy the "pro" version but it wont install on the amazfit. Strange as free & pro ver's were same.
Did you try to uninstall the free version before you installed the pro version?
Anyone get OpenVPN to work? Can't seem to load and connect on it. OpenVPN doesn't show up on VPN list in the settings.
Also, is there a way to keep VPN running without adding lock screen password? Seems dumb to require one just to keep VPN running, if I remove lock screen password, VPN resets.
Downloaded Openvpn app from play store and worked with my DD-WRT openvpn server.
I use a workaround - have a BT speaker always connected to the tablet and use it as a safe device for smart unlock. No need to use password or pattern anymore.
